Posting here for accountability because I’m utterly sick of being a fat fuck, and have recently come to learn that some other health problems I have are all likely worsened by obesity. I have never successfully lost weight before, which I think is ultimately due to inaccurate portion estimates, so now I’ve got a food scale. I’ve also eased myself into cooking and prepping my food a lot more over the past few months, so I’m ready to officially put that habit to the test.

I’m also challenging myself to post a day one update here tomorrow to disincentivize myself from pussying out immediately like I have in the past.

People often accomplish long-term change not from feeling bad about themselves but feeling good. So in addition to knowing that everyone will consider you a pussy if you don't post a positive achievement tomorrow (hey - you chose this path), know that people will also congratulate you if you do.

And in the spirit of sharing and positive messaging, I put on a little weight this past month due to slack diet but my overall trend for the last six months has been pretty positive so a setback isn't going to stop me and I am resuming intermittent fasting as of today.

Basically if this happens, don't let the rise become a trend. Accept it and focus on getting back to what you were doing before which was working:

Yeah you’re right, I was pissed off and fed up when posting that. I think I do need to adjust my mindset going into this like you said if I’m to succeed for real this time.

For my first update, I’m starting off slowly but distinctly different than my usual habits. My baseline habit has been often ordering takeout once a day and getting 2-3 entrees whenever I do. My logic has been that it’s cheaper to order way, but in practice I often end up eating all of that over the course of that one day, and that’s not a trade off I’m interested in making anymore. So for today I did still get my usual lunch takeout, but this time I actually looked at the calories and was disturbed by how high the number was for what the entree is. Then I went for a single entree and a side salad with half the dressing. It was still plenty filling and ultimately didn’t make me feel too different from when I was consuming more.

I also deep cleaned the whole bathroom today which was tiring but very rewarding. I think I’ll try to keep up this small food adjustment + house deep cleaning schedule for this week and see where that takes me.

Your wallet is going to get fatter in proportion to your waist getting slimmer! :story:

Well done. You have a good mindset on looking at what habits you can change. A good technique for sticking to them is to look at the triggers for them. Most habits have one. Could be "I always eat when I watch a movie" to "I always skip my morning run if I've been browsing the Farms till 2am". Whatever it is, it's good to write down the habit you're trying to introduce or change, and note the triggers that you need to eliminate or disassociate (or introduce).

Good luck. Also, a nice clean and tidy home environment really does help a surprising amount. It's a really visible sign of making your life better.

Up to 1.7 on Wegovy and still feel yucky. My primary doc never heard of the semaglutides before (ahhhh, the “wonderful” French health care in the provinces) and thinks that the solution to this extremely common side effect is just to quit, so I’m toughing it out in silence. If I still feel this bad after 2 months on 2.4 then I’ll re-evaluate. The emotional freedom from the food noise is so life-changing (it’s made my world bigger, not compulsively obsessing about food 24/7) that I really want to continue because the food noise has always been a lot more distressing to me than wearing a size larger than my ideal. Plus the drug has KILLED any and all desire to drink and smoke, the latter of which I hadn’t been able to quit despite 20 years of trying. And that, to me, is another miracle.

Since it's winter here, I just wanted to give some encouragement. It's cold outside and maybe you don't get to be as active as you are when you are warmer. But I'm here to give encouragement and a new perspective; We get a lot of snow and I have a small dog and we have a big back yard. Every inter when the snow gets too deep, I put on these boots my dad has, steel-toed and each boot feels like it must eight 10 pounds on their own. I seriously feel like a 5 year old warming my parents shoes when I put them on.

Anyway, I get my winter exercise by making paths in the snow just by walking. It can be tougher on some days than others, depends on the snow. But it can get pretty heavy but you don't have to worry about your back and shoveling. And hey, if you've been losing weight you already have some handy layers if it gets really cold.

All this is to say maybe your habits might change with the seasons. It's not a set-back. Hopefully you can find alternatives if you need to. You got this! Maybe think about Vitamin D supplements during the long dark days as well.

Whether you just started your health journey, you've already finished and reached your goal, or you're somewhere in the middle you made it another year. You got this and everyone in this thread is cheering you on.

Australians idk, just keep running away from anything that wants to kill you. You guys should be fine too.

To clarify upfront, while on wegovy I’ve lost about 95 pounds so far in 10 months. I’ve been on the highest dosage of 2.4mg (I think, it’s the black color one, which I think is the highest) for about 6 of those 10 months. Once I got to the 1mg dose, I finally started seeing results. To add further info my BMI went from 42.5 to 32 currently, and I’m still planning on getting down to a BMI of at least 25.

It’s been interesting, as most of my weight loss so far is a combination of fat and muscle, but the fat content being the deep fat pockets you don’t really notice. I do look thinner and people I know compliment me on how much thinner I look now, but for me I’d say I only look about 20% thinner. Looks are objective, and if you’re the one loosing the weight, you’ll not really notice yourself shrinking, till you get down to the last 25% or so (that’s when say your stomach will be shrinking rapidly, as the out layer fat starts to go in stubborn areas). I can move around a bit more easily, even without exercising as much as I should be doing.

The only really issue I have is that I can’t eat too spicy or greasy foods, as that’ll make my stomach upset and/or bad gut problems when I have to use a restroom. About 2 months ago I had something that was spicy, and I think expired, because I got a bad case of food poising from it for a few weeks (I imagine the wegovy made it worse, as it slows down your gut/etc). I’d also like to add that lately I’ve had bad constipation, as I’ve tried to find a good fiber supplement to use (currently trying methylcellouse powder and whatever benefiber uses); which haven’t seemed to help as much as I wish it would.

Lastly, and to go with my previous constipation issue, I still eat like crap. I’ve cut down my crappy processed and fast foods a good bit, but I’ll still eat it, just less (due to wegovy). With trying to consume more protein in fish, beef, and protein shakes I’ve been able to do better in that department, I really need to consume more fruits and vegetables. Also, I need to exercise more again (I had a good regiment of swimming, till the fall when the indoor pool I go to suddenly closed for 3 weeks), and I feel off the exercise track. Plus it doesn’t help when it’s cold as hell outside and snowing a ton; but at least I’m moving again due to the need for snow removal at my house.

Overall I’m glad to be where I am currently, and I’m glad to see others update about their own progress here too. I’ll be honest, Jersh really got me to finally take the plunge into my weight loss, and I’m glad to be over halfway down to my target goal. If any of y’all ever find it tough to start or keep going; it took me 10+ years to finally start on a good weight loss routine/diet (with wegovy), and I’ve failed plenty of other diets and exercise regiments over said 10+ years.

You can do it, and while I don’t post here often, it’s great to see others posting about their progress, both good and bad; as taking with others I’ve found is a great way to start and continue the battle with food and being overweight. ;)

Mom mocked me for weighting my food...
@Wujime How is it going? Are you managing to shrug off any counter-influences from your mother and stick to calorie counting? Just wanted to check in with some encouragement as it's really hard when family don't support you in your journey.

But it's Australia - running way from anything that wants to kill them de facto means they're also running towards something that wants to kill them. But I guess if they stand still then things that want to kill them are moving towards them, so advice is good anyway. You're going to die to something horribly venomous, poisonous or bitey at some point so might as well be fit for the lifespan you've got.

I wanted to wait until I went under 85 before updating, it's going okay, I'm currently mostly on the lower 88 range, could be better, last week I think I got a setback but might just be water fluctuation. I'm checking daily and I guess I'll up my walking mileage until I make up for it, if it turns out I'm out of schedule.
Sadly yesterday I got a very big psychological blow and I'm on a very bad mood now, I am resisting comfort eating but I'll probably have to become a hermit because every time I get out into society it seems I just get spit on the face on sight.
Kinda came ghere today to ask what other unsupervised/beginner friendly exercise I can do with only a set of 2 weight adjustable barebells so people may think twice before blatantly disrespecting me like that. I do biceps curls and triceps extensions currently. I tried lifting them on the floor as a pec exercise but I'm under the impression it wasn't really working.

It's always nice to post a big milestone achieved but you don't have to wait - any time you make some progress it's worth of celebrating. Especially if it's an averaged weight over a week, not just a 'good morning'. So well done. And only a few more kg to go to get to 85, so hang in there.

Well there are a lot of exercises you can do. Just lunges with a dumbell in each hand will be good. You're doing arm exercises with the triceps and and biceps, so lets get a little bit of leg and butt muscle in there. This will move you towards more whole body exercises which are very stimulating. So you can look up lunges but you're basically putting one foot forward and lowering the hips. And then you push back off the front leg to upright and repeat with the other leg. Honestly, it's a decent exercise even without the dumbells but they add a little extra "grrrr" to it if you can manage. Despite the name "lunge", don't go all out on the speed. This will be putting some stress on your knees so start slow and low weight then check how you feel. And start with low reps. It's a wonderful exercise though - you'll probably ache being unaccustomed to this but it'll be good and soon you'll get used to it.

You can also try some shoulder presses with the dumbells. Hold them both at your shoulder height then press one up, lower and then the other. This builds up your shoulders which is very nice. You can also try some lateral raises but do these with a VERY light weight to start with. They will kill as you're not used to this at all. Start very small with that.

Hang in there - you're progressing. So long as you keep progressing at any speed, you're doing well.

EDIT: You said "barbells" but you said two so I think you may have meant dumbells. If you do have two barbells for some reason, you can do all of the exercises I mentioned except the lateral raises. You'd just hold the barbell across your shoulders for the lunges instead. And you'd do the shoulder press with the barbell IN FRONT of your shoulders, don't do it from behind.

3rd week on 1mg wegovy, the weight is dropping quite nicely.

Had a small rise and a plateau moving from tablet to injection, but, I have lost 22lbs, so 10kgs! I may well get my festive time wish of being below 90!

Question for the fasting experts of the forum, due to my current stressful environment sedentary lifestyle, boredom, and to be honest sheer irresponsibility, I have gained WEIGHT! I am not obese... yet. HOWEVER, I DO NOT LIKE IT ANYWAY. The sensation of relinquishing control and letting go of oneself is quite unpleasant, and it is being exacerbated by the fact that recent events in my area necessitated my absence from the gym :suffering: earlier this year.

This is not a request to see if my plan is the most convenient and logical, this is a self-imposed challenge made to get me to lock in again.

Not eating till December 13 (I am not going to deny my grandma the privilege of a proper family reunion meal) what supplements should I need to take if any? Planned to also go back to the gym, should I avoid it till I stop fasting? [Or in the case this is not doable due to biological reasons, how low could I take my caloric intake without giving myself organ damage] any recommendations?

I have done before, month long diets of intermittent fasting mixed with lower than 1000 daily cals, and I had no problem yet, but I haven't tried to get it lower than that, and most chatbots just call me mentally ill:lossmanjack: I was going to ask Reddit, but I remembered that those niggers unironically think that men can turn into women, so I put that idea down, and then it occurred to me "I can ask the farms! My favorite school shooter forum" for advice

Had a chance to weight myself
16.53467lbs 7.5kg.

Did tone it down quite a lot from my initial intentions after my sister called me a retard, and told me to just hit the gym more.

But still quite visible results.

Losing 1.5lbs a week is simultaneously not fast enough as well as pure agony and a near impossible feat. Worst part is I stopped for a little bit and I'm like 176lbs instead of my usual 172 but that might be the water weight and gycerol from my supplements and such for the gym.

I have been doing this for 8 months so I think I'm just sick of it but I'm only like 18% bodyfat and I wanna get down to 10%.

Nice job you made it 2 days of daily updates

I haven’t had anything of interest to say so far, lmao.

I’m down almost 4 lbs so far and have been actually sticking to my calorie limits, which has been a nice surprise to myself. I’ve been cooking way more so I think that’s why it’s been more doable. Gonna stay that course for a few weeks and check in again, whether it’s news of success, failure, or somewhere in between.

I lost 10,7 kg (23.5 lbs) in 67 days. I ate five meals a day, totaling 1,600 calories. Calorie-counting apps are a great invention. I would like to lose another 20 kilos. I'm afraid my progress will slow down, so I plan to start exercising after things at work settle up a little.
Well, that's probably it for this year. Wish me luck resisting all the delicious food my grandma will try to shove down my throat . I started at 114,5 kilograms, and now I weigh 92,2 kilograms. I've lost 22,3 kilos since July. My BMI is under 30 for the first time in almost a decade 🙃. I can no longer adhere one hundred percent to my diet; I went from eating five meals a day to just three. I'm still counting calories though. It has become harder to stick to my regimen due to work. I need to stop putting off exercise. Since I can do push-ups without my joints hurting, I have no excuse left.

Next week is Christmas with my Italian in-laws. I’ve been strategizing how to not backslide -too- much and I’m planning on chugging tons of water so I’m too full. Maybe try that?

God, I miss being 25 and being able to do cocaine.
