To clarify upfront, while on wegovy I’ve lost about 95 pounds so far in 10 months. I’ve been on the highest dosage of 2.4mg (I think, it’s the black color one, which I think is the highest) for about 6 of those 10 months. Once I got to the 1mg dose, I finally started seeing results. To add further info my BMI went from 42.5 to 32 currently, and I’m still planning on getting down to a BMI of at least 25.
It’s been interesting, as most of my weight loss so far is a combination of fat and muscle, but the fat content being the deep fat pockets you don’t really notice. I do look thinner and people I know compliment me on how much thinner I look now, but for me I’d say I only look about 20% thinner. Looks are objective, and if you’re the one loosing the weight, you’ll not really notice yourself shrinking, till you get down to the last 25% or so (that’s when say your stomach will be shrinking rapidly, as the out layer fat starts to go in stubborn areas). I can move around a bit more easily, even without exercising as much as I should be doing.
The only really issue I have is that I can’t eat too spicy or greasy foods, as that’ll make my stomach upset and/or bad gut problems when I have to use a restroom. About 2 months ago I had something that was spicy, and I think expired, because I got a bad case of food poising from it for a few weeks (I imagine the wegovy made it worse, as it slows down your gut/etc). I’d also like to add that lately I’ve had bad constipation, as I’ve tried to find a good fiber supplement to use (currently trying methylcellouse powder and whatever benefiber uses); which haven’t seemed to help as much as I wish it would.
Lastly, and to go with my previous constipation issue, I still eat like crap. I’ve cut down my crappy processed and fast foods a good bit, but I’ll still eat it, just less (due to wegovy). With trying to consume more protein in fish, beef, and protein shakes I’ve been able to do better in that department, I really need to consume more fruits and vegetables. Also, I need to exercise more again (I had a good regiment of swimming, till the fall when the indoor pool I go to suddenly closed for 3 weeks), and I feel off the exercise track. Plus it doesn’t help when it’s cold as hell outside and snowing a ton; but at least I’m moving again due to the need for snow removal at my house.
Overall I’m glad to be where I am currently, and I’m glad to see others update about their own progress here too. I’ll be honest, Jersh really got me to finally take the plunge into my weight loss, and I’m glad to be over halfway down to my target goal. If any of y’all ever find it tough to start or keep going; it took me 10+ years to finally start on a good weight loss routine/diet (with wegovy), and I’ve failed plenty of other diets and exercise regiments over said 10+ years.
You can do it, and while I don’t post here often, it’s great to see others posting about their progress, both good and bad; as taking with others I’ve found is a great way to start and continue the battle with food and being overweight.
