I did intermittent fasting for a year. It takes a while to build the habit, but you can get used to eating less that way. Fasting for a day every now and then also helps me get my appetite under control.

I got really sick last Friday and my appetite went out the window. I lost 6-8 lbs since then and I’m kind of amazed and saddened that it took me being terribly sick to do this instead of me building up my own self discipline. Which I still lack, evidently :(
I plan on keeping it off though, hopefully more too. Kind of afraid that once everything isn’t disgusting or nauseating I’ll start binging again.

Do you own an excercise bike? Are there any you'd recommend?
I bought this one for 26$, there are cheaper ones though

The metal gets kinda hot after awhile but it is hard to burn yourself if you have been warned about that. I use this every day when I am fucking around on my phone or reading (usually get an hour in each day), and it has held up fine for the past 6 months or so. It's an easy way to fit in a lot of exercise. I like that I can move it around my house easily. It doesn't really make noise. This is absolutely the reason I exercise every day.

When i was a student i suffered from an eating disorder, but the last few years i've been constantly gaining weight. Now i'm nearly 180lbs at 5'10. My problem is that whenever i try to start a diet, i can't stick to it for more than a few hours, because the awful feeling of not 'being allowed' to eat is somehow still in my brain, even though the last time i starved myself is years ago.
I'm positive that i'm healthy enough to not fall back into these dangerous methods from back then (plus i'm overweight now, i really have to change something!), so any tips on how to stay on your diet? I also still live at home, so sometimes i can't even choose what to eat...

Maybe you could try focusing on adding exercise instead of worrying about your eating? Strength training is especially good if you can't control much of your diet and are gaining weight. Strength training burns a ton of calories in a short time compared to cardio. You will gain muscle that way, and so less of the weight gained will be fat. You will feel damn good, too. If you want to start slow you can do things like decide to do ten squats whenever you get out of your bed, add stuff when it isn't challenging anymore.

Another alternative is to try to make one or two meals a day whole food plant based meals, you can eat as much as you want of WFPB meals without having to worry, as long as it isn't ridiculously high in fat anyway.

you are relatively wrong. The ideal for fat burning is about 30-45 minutes exercise substained, instead of like 2 minutes for strength and 10-15 for cardio

To me the 'ideal body' i'd wish for is one similar to a figure skater (i've been binge watching the olympics and became so jealous); i really want to avoid any type of bulking muscles, since i'm already naturally a more muscular type. I really do enjoy running, but are there any additional exercizes i could do or would that just result in gaining muscle mass?
And what should i eat/how many calories to reach that goal?

You are extremely unlikely to bulk up with muscle if you are biologically female. If you want to look like a figure skater then try skating. It is a lot of fun and a great workout. If there's no where to do it on ice regular roller skating/rollerblafing might be a good stand in until you can get there. I don't think I am able to advise about calories, I also gotta say I'm a bit worried about your history vs the content of the posts. Relapse is a slow slide into damaging habits, it can happen to anyone who once had an eating disorder. If it is possible please get some therapy to make sure you stay healthy mentally too.

Fatty here who has lost 18 lbs since the end of last year and is reviving this thread a bit to brag. Still plenty chunky but I'm hoping to stick to it for the long haul and hopefully reach my goal of 160 lb by end of July/Early August.

Recently got on the weight watchers program, which I don't think is perfect but has helped me personally. Has anyone else on here tried it? If so what are your opinions on it?

My mom has been on and off of it several times. It seems like overcomplicated calorie counting. I lost all of my weight with MyFitnessPal, and you can adjust the macros to be similar to what you would get from weight watchers. Though, if weight watchers works for you, go for it.

Even though my size 4 pants still fit, I feel like I gained a few pounds back. My dorm’s community center pool and gym (it’s off-campus but less than 5 minutes away from the uni) have been a lot of help, although another thing I need to really improve on are my snacking habits- replacing chocolate with crackers and fiber. The college curse can mess you up if you’re not careful!

I find that studying does help if you exercise at the same time or afterwards since it clears your mind during breaks- and this way, you’re killing 2 birds with one stone!

I've had the opposite problem since going to college. I pay attention to diet & exercise more than I did at home, and the weight's just been falling off.
