I have definitely fucked up and went back into eating like a dumbass. I blame my new roommate who's fat, I blame delicious pizza, and I blame myself. Imma get this shit fixed before I end up turning into Nikocado.

This is going to be an extended response as context is needed. Before I tried fasting, I have been on a low carb (not exclusively keto) diet for around 2 years. This included eggs, chicken, beef, and broccoli as my main source of food. I would occasionally have pizza as a cheat around once a month. I stayed away from all fast foods, sodas, sugar coffees, and "snack foods".Holy shit. Did you do any sort of cardio or weight training during this? Is muscle breakdown a fear you had at all? What was the hardest stretch for you? We’re you still active during this or rest for most of it?
Sorry for all the questions but I find the willpower needed to accomplish this to be fascinating.
Longer periods on the cardio, if necessary at a slightly lower intensity, will benefit you by burning more fat. Personally I think the elliptical is largely wasted effort, and that you're better running or on the rower/erg. Try also to incorporate some core work, which will help you continue improving and avoid injury.I hate being weighed because I have a history of being overly obsessive with the scale and desperation to lose more. Last July my nurse said I was 240 and a couple weeks ago I decided to get weighed with my bf looking at the scale for me. I told him that he should inform me if I lost or gained since then. Turns out I had lost 20lbs since the last time. We go to the gym a few times a week, I aim for 100cals on the elliptical in 15mins or just over, then we do the machines that focus on our arms and legs, and then we go back upstairs.
is there anything else I should be doing in my workout? I also try and aim for high protein foods like Skyr/Greek yogurt and nuts during the day.
Also I’m 6feet and I weigh a lot less than null.![]()
Yeah I typically have the incline set at 3 levels high too. Most people in the West consume far more protein than they need. Stop with the focus on one type of nutrient, and instead aim for a balance. You likely don't have enough dietary fiber (most don't) which will help you feel full for longer too.
Sort of depends on what you're hoping to achieve? Cards on the table: I don't go to the gym, I run. I'm also not a PT, and I have a y-chromosome which your screen name indicates you don't, so I'm probably not qualified to give any more detailed advice!Yeah I typically have the incline set at 3 levels high too. My baby is very needy and my hubs works 60-80 hour weeks
Congratulations on your weight los. Keep it up. And it sounds like you have a pretty solid plan so all I can ad is make shure you don't over do it.I hate being weighed because I have a history of being overly obsessive with the scale and desperation to lose more. Update: Didn't end up getting the bike, but did start walking in the forestry. Better trails with some inclines, feel like I've worked a lot more after doing it.Didn't see this thread before, so I guess it's time to log my weight loss progress.
Fat guy story: Spoiler for those who don't care:Back when I was younger, I fucked up my knee in the military. This eventually lead to me being discharged. It was never fixed, but being young, dumb and invincible I just ignored the minor tinges of pain. Cut to 20 years later: Put on more weight and my joints start hurting, with my knee almost becoming unbearable to be on for longer than a few hours at a time. Cut to 2020: Covid shuts down everything, puts me in a pretty deep depression, can barely walk from my bed to the computer some days. Gain another 200 lbs. Finally found a doc who took me seriously about my leg pain, killed the nerves in my knee, got put on anti-depressants and a weight loss plan. Take Phentermine and Topimax to kill my appetite and started walking.
Starting Weight: 420 lbs
3 Month weigh in: 365 lbs
Goal Weight: 250 lbs
Calorie intake: ~1000/day
Exercise: Walking, minimum 2 miles every other day. Try for 4, but depends on weather/heat.
Personal Best: 5 miles.
Notes: Considering a bike and riding in the forestry out near where I live. Should be a lot easier on my joints and work more of my body.
