Weird Dreams Thread

I just had one of the most bizarre, yet semi-cohesive dreams I remember having.

My brother and I were with my grandma at her house's living room. Everything was normal until a group of three or four random people broke in. They weren't robbers, they were just there. And apparently we had to beat them in a game to make them leave.
Magically the living room turns into some sort of human-sized board game. I don't know what was that about or how we did it, but we won. However, the intruders still refused to go, and ran further into the house. We ran after them and they entered into a room that could be locked from the outside, so my brother trapped them there. (A bit of a strange move there, and also such a room doesn't exist on my grandma's real house).
After that happened, the intruders started screaming inhumanely. Instead of calling the police, for some reason we decided to just go to bed. When we woke up, the door was still locked, but all of those people had disappeared.

[Some random unrelated stuff happened afterwards, and I also remember it was New Year's Eve, but that didn't amount to anything because you know, dream plotlines are like that]

I always have weird dreams and have filled many journals.
Morning's Dream:
A girl in a train ride with her teacher
I greeted one of my online friends
A school?
Monster girls living together
A Kiwi Farms thread about a guy that got raped at a furry convention and he disappeared

This was like the C or D-plot of the dream I had last night, but my mom sat me down and super seriously explained to me how she has had AIDS for 40 years and that I might have it too.

This is really brief but I had a dream immediately after I'd woken up and fed the cats to stop their incessant caterwauling then gone back to sleep. Anyway, I dreamed I was coming back from doing it, and I was walking through the house without the lights on. Suddenly I saw a dark form in the living room and slowly recognized it as a dude wearing a Unabomber type hoodie, and thought it was someone I knew. However, when I got closer, I realized it was some guy I had never seen before, an older guy with a salt and pepper beard.

He looked otherwise normal but had a facial expression kind of like Richard James evilly grinning on that Aphex Twin album cover.

Anyway I started yelling who the fuck are you, what the fuck are you doing here, get the fuck out at him.

And I yelled loud enough in real life that I woke myself up.

I dreamt I was driving down an unfamiliar twisty road at night during a thunderstorm and the brakes didn't work. Then I woke up and I was really cranky.

I took a shit and all was well with the world again.

I have recurring anxiety dreams.
  1. I oversleep and miss class, guaranteeing I won't pass, even though I graduated from college over a decade ago
  2. I keep breaking my mother's laptop and have to conceal it. One time the screen melted and folded backward, like Hershey's chocolate. Another time I searched frantically for a replacement, hoping she will not notice, despite it being the wrong shape and color.

This is a fairly interesting dream, man.

What's your relationship with your brother like? Were there any major events taking place in your life around this time?

I just had a dream that it was a few hours after P=NP was solved and just as they were talking about it on the news it cut to an advanced ai explaining singularity and showing off solutions to every unsolved math problem and then more and more complex tech being developed and then I heard a huge boom outside and out the window I saw a sheet of black covering the sky with red dots that stretched out infinitely in a 3d grid and time kept speeding up faster and faster until i panicked too much and woke up (:_(

worst part is in my brain im still convinced the solutions made sense, I just can’t remember them.

I dreamed I was in a strange place I had never seen before, full of marbled halls and terracotta-tiled pavilions and outdoor verandas and such. Very neoclassical. Only there were multiple levels suspended in the air, each one hovering above the other by unknown means, a bit like the old Farlands from Minecraft.

And as I was strolling around, amazed and astonished at it all, I began to notice a recurring motif: every few rooms, there'd be a well, filled with water. And after I'd gazed down into several, I realized none of them were actually that deep, for sometimes I could see, vaguely in the bottom-most depths, the roofs and terraces of the next level down (often snatches of light as well, bouncing off some particularly reflective white marble or ornate fresco). And naturally, at that point it occurred to me "Wait if that's the next lowest level, then what the hell is holding the water in place? How has it not run out the bottom of these wellshafts long ago?".

So I began seeking eagerly for the bottom of a shaft running down from the previous level, the better to examine it and work out the mystery of these physics (at no time during my stay in this dream did I ever encounter two wellshafts between levels that were aligned or even very near one another). And eventually I did indeed find a shaft bottom, but incredibly as I looked up I discerned there to be no water in it! At first I believed this to simply be bad luck; obviously some of the shafts must not contain suspended liquid and I had simply had the misfortune of picking one my very first go. So I hunted about for more. And wouldn't you know it, every other shaft I came upon, even the ones I was rather certain I had gazed into the depths of on the previous level up, was completely devoid of liquid when viewed from the bottom!

At this point I simply stood there, gazing out over the gentle sunlit sprawl of this strange place (I could discern no lightsource yet it was perpetually lit with a cast of around 4:30 in the afternoon), amazed and bemused pondering these odd one-sided wells, when I suddenly wondered "Who could've built this strange place?" and no sooner had I thought this than a distinctly aristocratic, male, commanding voice came from behind me "That would be me". Before I could turn around to behold the speaker I woke up.
this is awesome, I’ve had a few dreams about impossible architecture but they were so impactful to me I’ve already shared them online so I can’t talk about them here*sigh*

During law school, I had a repeat series of dreams where I was in class, the professor would be lecturing in absolute gibberish and I would wake up in a sweat because I couldn't keep up with taking notes.

The only dream I can recall is a dream I had when I was a few years younger. Mid-late teens. I was lured to some remote location. A barn or abandoned farm. I was meeting some strange man who proceeded to kill me. I had to spend the rest of the dream incredibly lucid and aware of my situation. I was watching over the shoulder if an investigator or detective of some sort search for clues and try to find me. I watched her find the exact place I was murdered and I was unable to help her in any way. I was like a ghost I think. I felt a terrifying sense of helplessness.

Eventually, perhaps everything really does become singularity. Not only technologically, but spatially, mentally, physically, etc. After all, wasn't it that way before? Maybe this thing we all call "reality" is just the universe slowly evolving more and more capable sentient life, until one day the technology it's producing and the rate at which it multiplies and the speed at which it iterates improvements is as fast or faster than the universe keeps expanding. At which point all of existence literally becomes one.

I had a very long dream, but I only remember parts.

The first part I remember involved me being back in high school, although nothing was quite right. I had a class with one of the creepy gym teachers, who didn't actually have a classroom IRL, and went to lunch. The lunch line was on the wrong side of the cafeteria, and was more like a buffet restaurant. I went and sat at the table, and one guy, who was a weirdo IRL, kept on going on about how he weighed over 1000lbs in middle school (he didn't).

The next part, where I definitely wasn't in high school any longer, involved me chasing off two giant skunks from what I guess was supposed to be my house. They were probably the size of golden retrievers. The first one was easy to get rid of, since it just grabbed something out of the garbage can and ran down the street. The other one really wanted to be on the front porch for some reason, so I had to fan it with a giant fan while screaming at it and chasing it. Eventually, I managed to run it off into the woods. When I was there, I found a tiny kitten, and brought it back to the front porch. The kitten declared itself my chief of staff at some nonprofit which I apparently was in charge of, and for some reason I got off on a tangent where I explained to the kitten that it was ok to fail sometimes, and it's often a good way to learn. Then, this fat, pink baby bird appeared, which could also talk, and begged for food. There wasn't anything nearby that could be fed to a baby bird, but someone was suddenly there, and fed the baby bird its dead siblings. The other person disappeared, the bird said thanks, and then went and stuck its head in one of those big blue mailboxes, which I apparently had in the middle of my driveway.

I had a weird dream of my dad just vanishing. Not divorcing my mum or bolting on her, not dying, but he just walked out of the house and was gone. He never returned. And my family (and mother) acted like it was no big deal, like he never even existed in the first place.

No idea where that dream came from, but it made me feel incredibly sad after waking up.

A while ago I had this incredibly autistic dream, which was like watching a VR movie, where humanity was driven almost to extinction by dinosaurs. In their complete and utter desperation the remnants of humanity have turned to unironic 1930s and 1940s Nazism. The next thing I saw a large mass gathering of people calling themselves "The March of the Damned" where they were marching to the tune of the "Königgrätzer Marsch" into a dinosaur infested forest. One Nazi was, at first successfully, beating his way through a pack of raptors with a 2x4 until he got blindsided and eaten by an Allosaurus. Then I saw what appeared to be an SS officer cowboying his way through raptors with a revolver and throwing knives and even had the highest body count, but in the end it didn't really matter because the raptors eventually overwhelmed him with sheer numbers, just like the rest of the march.

The last human died by suicide bombing a T-rex while yelling "HEIL HITLER!". I still can't decide if it's the most badass or the most retarded thing I've seen.

My recurring themes for dreams:

Tooth trauma. Damaged or falling out teeth. I hear this one's pretty common.

Having to do my college final only to find that I haven't gone to any of the classes.

Driving on dangerous roads or roads that veer precariously into the sky.

Seeing dead family members or pets alive again. These are especially fucky since they're usually extremely emotional and vivid. I had once, in a dream, seen my parents and had actually convinced myself that they were alive, even though I knew they couldn't possibly be. I found myself thinking I'd have to come to terms with the impossible happening and worrying about how this would affect my perception of reality. Then I woke up, and it was like having them die on me all over again. (:_(

Visiting my old house. I almost never dream about my current living space. Even if my dreams take place in the present, they still happen in some variation of the house I grew up in. The house often looks very different from how it looked in reality, but I still somehow know that it's my old house.
