Weird Dreams Thread

You wrote a long, informative, well researched and helpful post to call me an autist. You have lived up to your username as The Littlest Shitlord, and I mean that as a compliment. I apologize for not quoting your comment in my reply, either I have managed to screw something up or the site is glitching, as I see no quote option on your post.

The reply option seems to disappear if the post to reply to is "too long". People have referred to this as a bug, but I think that's actually an intended feature that Dear Leader turned on in a fit of passive-aggressive rage at people who quote whole long posts for a single-sentence reply. (See also: Null taking away most ratings from A&H rather than just punishing people who get butthurt over stickers.) I am informed that if you right-click the reply option to another post, copy the URL, then modify it to replace the post number with the number of the long post you actually want to reply to, then it will work, but I have not tried it.

I'm sorry for inadvertently implying that you may be autistic, but that's what my research has focused on: issues that autistic people tend to have, and their associated biochemistry. Autistic people aren't the only people who can have (for example) insomnia, of course. But other people read my posts too, and KF has more autists than some actual autism support groups, so I hope to help them too.

You probably spend too much time on this site when you have a dream about another user here (who I’ve rarely, if at all interacted with) hiding out in your garage stealing food and constantly weeping about how depressed they are while petting either a wild or domesticated rat.

Never seen what this user looks like but they were pretty fat in my dream.

I keep having the same dream of just sitting in my favorite chair. Not really strange but its the fact I keep having the same one and its a boring ass thing to have a dream about.

I imagine everyone that posts on this site as morbidly obese. I'm probably 80-20 right.

About once a month I have a recurring nightmare where I'm tasked with finding a room in a building and can never do it. The buildings are always massive and have weird nooks and crannies and staircases that make them impossible to navigate. Last night I had a dream where I eventually found the room but when I got there I was told by some woman that the people I was looking for are only in that room on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and that it was Thursday.

I hardly ever remember my dreams but my kid woke me up at the perfect time to recall this one last night:

I was standing outside the restaurant I worked at as a teenager. There was a contest happening where people were jumping snowmobiles through the front door but when I peeked in I couldn’t see them landing.

However I did see the guest of honour, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, who was chatting quietly with some people, and wearing cowboy boots. And from his boot he pulled what I thought was a knife but turned out to be a sword.

And then I woke up. And now that I see this written down it sounds kinda filthy. I don’t even know who Jake the Snake Roberts is.

I died and went to hell because I was walking around this strange vertical ring land. I have a feeling that this is a reoccurring dream location for some reason, I might have been here before in an earlier REM cycle I can't remember. Anyway I was taking pictures of the beautiful sky and clouds, when suddenly when I looked from the ground back to the clouds, they had coalesced and become a huge torrent of cloud/water pouring down like a landslide. I look at another hiker nearby, and basically ask if we're fucked, and she says yeah. As the wave crashes down the steep slope of the ring I run up to it, jump, and manage to ride the wave of it, floating on the surface of the rising reverse whirlpool (there are many others riding it) but I lose surface tension and slip, drowning in the depths. This cloud wave is a normal occurrence for this ring location, and if you're higher up the wave is gentle and you can ride the back of it comfortably as it gains mass, but I happened to be right at the bottom of the ring it when it happened, so it was basically a wall of water and I was fucked. I went to "hell", which was set up sort of like an old timey farmer's market stand where satan basically showed me my options. I had died 3 times in a row without doing something that was necessary to refill those lives, so I had a few options, displayed to me in a very video gamey kind of way. I could take some general “stat losses” or I could choose to have both of my legs broken. The legs broken was clearly a jokey choice, the stat losses weren’t that bad.

I have regular nightmares that follow general trends.
I die in a horrific fashion, but then all events from that moment to the start of the nightmare rapidly go in reverse like the clock is wound back. Knowing what lies ahead this time, I manage to avoid that death but generally find myself chased instead.
I've had nightmares of being in something akin to Saw, a run down building where I'm hunted, and I must go through various puzzles where I will die if I fuck up on them. My head trapped in a box full of explosives, sticking my arm quickly through a searing furnace to grab something I need, etc.
The creatures that chase me are generally human-shaped (or have human parts) but aren't human at all. Stretched, distended jaws, claws and blades for arms, doll-jointed creatures hastily covered with stretched bloody skin, etc. The closest comparison I can think of is Silent Hill. All the while I have the constant feeling that someone watches me off in the distance.

In general I somehow overcome these or manage to escape even after rewound deaths, generally I'm fairly badly injured, but I feel considerably stronger in some way through my survival.

The dreams I have are weird and some are scary but then there's the ones outside of dreams. You feel the room spins and you fall into an infinite darkness. I wake up, I can't move. The whole room looks shades different, almost underwater like. An immense sense of impending doom surrounds me. I can feel something coming from outside my room. Panick envelopes me as I frantically try to move. I can feel tears running down my face as I feel the manifestation of dread come close. Then there's a moment of no way is anything going to happen. It's not real. A shadow blacker than the dark walks in... you can finally feel this thing right next to you. I'm going to die is all you can think. I wake up completely sore and fatigued. Now I have to go through this again and again every night.
That's sleep paralysis, I've also had that back when I was trying to lucid dream. It's honestly the most terrifying experience I've ever had, all I could do was shut my eyes and hold my breath as the creature entered my room and leaned to be right in my face. Even though you don't see it, you know what it looks like somehow. For me it was this solid shadow person of gangling limbs with empty holes for a mouth and eyes.
It's the only time in my life I felt like I was genuinely going to die.

Lucid dreaming is weird as hell, the moment you trigger it is surreal, I've tried to do it to confront the person who always watches me in my dreams, but somehow they always take me out of lucidity by either waking me up or putting me in a new dream.

I had a dream some old couple was trying to steal my car. When I ran out after them they turned it into some shitty minivan, and then again into some other bullshit. I hopped in and fired a few rounds off my pistol, but the bullets did nothing to these demonic geriatrics. There was also another about moving in with one of my exes and the place having cockroaches with protective headgear.

Edit:

Just remembered another one. I went into my old job and got locked in the safe. Somehow was able to get out, but my time card didn't work and my boss snickered because I worked the day for free. I heard the insufferable voice of my tranny coworker and left. Couldn't find my car and ended up being chased by some Islamic fucker. When I did find, someone cut my breaks, hit my car, and I ran into another ex who I think was trying to hit me—an all-around terrible dream.

Had a dream where I was hanging out with a professor at an abandoned factory, a delivery van took a break there and had a monkey (destined for a research lab), and the professor (person I know IRL) was really upset about it so I stole the monkey to give him as a pet.

Bad news bro
Youre haunted by a night hag

For some reason there's recurring patterns in my dreams.

1) Flea markets or pawn shops tend to figure in a lot.

2) I'm usually either still a kid or living in a place I lived in as a kid.

3) There's usually a thing where I find a piece of media that doesn't actually exist, but in the dream it does and its really interesting. It's never exactly a "lost media" but usually some weird case (like a show being released in two DVD sets, and there's an episode included on one set but not another, or an American continuation of a Japanese show like Detective Conan, or a game on Game Gear that never actually appeared on Game Gear).

The media in question is almost always related to something I was into awhile back but have since let drop off my radar.

The part that usually bothers me most is 4) in the dream I'm friends with someone I've never actually met and only know about online. Like with media, this is usually someone I haven't actually thought about IRL in awhile.

I saw a jet flying at low level like just above the lights of a city, the pilot hidden by tint on the cock pit. Missles launch from the underside, fly toward the ground split into multiple sections an mrv to ensure a carpet bombing run.

I wake up before I can see if the blast is nuclear or what city is being hit.

Recalled this old-ish dream recently about a fake TV show I was watching with a friend wherein BotW Link was the main character but had no dialogue whatsoever (so basically he was completely in character). His apparent "best friend" who talked for him was some guy with dark hair and a blue hoodie. None of the other characters ever referred to this guy by name so I have no idea what he was called.

My dumb brain seems to love conjuring up the stupidest of fake games/movies/TV shows for some unknown reason, so I get dreams like these somewhat frequently.

I had a dream when I was a very little kid. I’m the dream I was sitting in the back seat of my mother’s vehicle as we’re pulling around to the back of the bank. Back then the suction machines used to be much bigger and had a lot more mechanical parts houses in a metal box up to the side above ground. So, in my dream the metal box opens up and out steps Ronald McDonald. That as far as I recall is where the dream ended.

Weirdest dream I've ever had: my dad was a veterinarian [he very much isn't], and he took me along while he was attending to a lone horse at some remote stable. I was sitting on a hay bale waiting for him to finish his work. A fox came and swallowed me whole. He didn't notice.

There was also the one in which my mother was heavily pregnant, and about to give birth, and I was obsessing over the fact that it was going to be on me, and me alone, to catch the newborn using some sort of a historical chamber pot like a baseball glove. Think: "projectile birth".

Oh, and, teeth! Tons of stuff involving teeth!

I must be one hell of a messed-up individual, going by Freud!

I had a nightmare in 2019 when all the laws of physics broke down leaving me stuck in limbo, That was the scariest. The other dream was in 2018 where I went back in time to June 10, 2002 to observe a solar eclipse which just so happened to occur on that date and in the right location. I remember my mother acting confused in that dream seeing an 18 year old self of me.
