There are bad “art styles”, this thread has plenty of examples already, but there is a difference between art style and character design. Character design focuses on how a character is dressed, colored, etc.

Art style takes that design and draws everything certain way.

Necroing this thread to talk about Dropout Fruit Tart. I really have a love-hate relationship with the art style. The designs are cute and the characters look decent when viewed from the front but then you do a profile view and it looks....weird.

I wish I could hate these designs but they grew on me. The hands are still disgusting though. R07 is not a good artist.

The source material is much less an edgy shitfest. It's actually really good. The anime really went for the whole "crazy-omg-bloody anime girl OMG" and it's made by DEEN. DEEN is asscancer.

I'm glad someone finally pointed out how insanely lanky the character designs for most of Shaft's characters are. I have no idea how they fit inside the Mecha.

It could be insanely slow as most nips don't know when to cut content because its redundant. Like how he goes into detail about pointless fluff that is never mentioned again in the entirety of his works for HOURS. Umineko is infamous for getting people to give up on 07th works and overall, the redditor hack makes very low end rambling VNs.

The early photoshop era(I guess late 90s, early 2000s) is weird, but kind of cool.
