(hot take/writing idea: it would be cool if Welcome Home was actually a low-budget show made by a cult that was ripping off The Muppets to appeal to children and was brainwashing kids with horrifying messages about blindly obeying their leader and accepting all kinds of abuse, akin to the Children of God's Life with Grandpa. But I doubt Clown would have the guts to write something like that.)

This idea can work but as i said on this thread it's clear where the creator priorities are. These types always put their gender/LGBTQ stuff first in everything they do since they have either a limited view of the world or only know themselves more than other people and their interests. Most peolpe don't care about this shit but because it's so baked into the project you can't not separate it from everything else.

And I bet they couldn't do a wholesome genderqueer psychological horror ARG with those themes I mentioned, considering how they are. You know, for example... The kids' show secretly inserting sexual themes to brainwash the children in the cult.

Part of the thing they do is normalizing this shit which is why you see a lot of misguided youth being genderspecials way before they even understand the point of gender and why yes....gender roles are extremely important to us as human beings since each gender can serve a function that one can't and vice versa. A lot of this gender stuff with these types is superficial because in reality even with what we know about Welcome Home none of the genders of these characters or the pronouns they have actually matters and highly doubt that if they continue there will be some sort of plot point in the lore where it comes up. Because the thing is just the existence is enough to make them feel like it matters but it doesn't since nobody realistically cares about the gender of the 'possibly' murderous puppet characters in a show that is supposed to be set in the 70s.

Even though the cult thing is a bit cliche I’d would’ve preferred that over what we have now.

I remember one of my predictions at that time was that Wally wanted the viewer (or whatever)

So does anyone know what the fuck is going on in the story? You think with each update it would give more clues to answer the overarching narrative like other similar projects do, but it feels like we're meandering. We still don't even know anything about what was going on behind-the-scenes of this ip in the 70s. If that was mentioned at some point then I'm sorry that I forgot, but it really feels like this story forgot that this was a kid's show.
