They stated it was a personal horror project so everyone took that and ran with it as a way to justify harassing the game theorist despite clown on stream and their voice actors also saying it is an ARG at several different points.

They also didn't like the fact he covered it and felt like he was going to "ruin the series."

I will get some tweets around this time to show this retardation but yeah it was a huge dumb drama that lasted for over two days on twitter and got trending as a result.

Like anything popular people will eventually make fanart and try to sell it to make money off of it. This is normal and common in any interest space you can think of but Clown because they aren't getting a cut of that sweet money pie decided fair use can suck their ass and started flagging down everyone they could find that could even remotely make money off of it.
They began false flagging people making plushes, shirts, pins, even roblox skins of their characters would have a DMCA quickly sent to them if they even hint they got monetized in anyway including people reposted their self admitted FREE ASSETS on their website.
This rule was not enforceable and they could not police people to not sell artwork so Clown made a "merchandising guide," for their parasocial fans to help police their audience for them. This is after push back from people calling them out for doing that very same shit on ko-fi by using fanart and one off commissions of Miss Piggy and other Sesame Street characters to make money themselves. This is also what lead them to making a half retraction on April 6th.

There are ways he could handle that stuff properly, like using a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license, which would require attribution for the original author, prohibit commercial use of the work, and require derivatives to follow the same standards.

I love that the detailed breakdown of the secrets is genuinely the most clear, comprehensive take I’ve seen on the subject…

And it was posted to the goddamn Kiwi Farms in a thread meant to make fun of it. Great thread so far, the question is whether this project will continue on or be canceled/rebooted a second time because of some sort of “pressure” on its author or some shit like that.

Holy shit this. I'd say one of the biggest reasons why Petscop was so engaging in the first place was because NO ONE knew who was really behind it. "Was it really just 1 person working on this project? Are multiple people behind this? How was this made? Who really made this?" It kept people on edge to see if the truth, if any, would eventually come out about the people/person behind a project like this.

Now as you said, when you actively know who the person is behind the scenes, shit is just so much less engaging and interesting. Like do you really expect me to take your gay ARG web series seriously when I know on your personal twitter you're shitposting and promoting tranny memes and having shit opinions? If this was standard web content creation and I wanted to know a little bit more of the person behind the screen, that'd be one thing, but when you're making le spooky fake game/show/website/whatever, anonymity and the power of Mystery behind what's really going on and who's behind it is absolutely KEY and that sadly seems to be a practice less and less people are aware of given how retarded Zoomers and Alphers are on online privacy.

Clown is going to update the website in the summer and fall with new gay spooky ARG content and other updates on themselves.

Keep in mind the tags say they are going to use the new found money they received to buy cheesecake and hot dogs for their birthday.

The issue is this money donated was because Clown claimed to be in an unsafe living situation.
This has started yet again some drama and now their Ko-fi went from donating to move out of a "unsafe living situation," to a "better living situation," along with adding other reasons for the money being donated like equipment and food.

Things like this are a great way to teach yourself what to avoid when writing a story or publishing creative work online.

As soon as a creator starts whining about their real-life issues and asks for money to solve them, it's time to stop following. It wouldn't surprise me if this ARG just falls apart because the faggot will be too busy doing literally anything else but the project he was commissioned to complete.
