Is Wendigoon really going the route of getting into internet slapfights and gatekeeping what analog horror is good and which is bad? I've always seen Wendigoon's videos as being opinionated and his interpretation of things, but for him to flat out shit on something feels wrong. Especially when part of the reason the thing is being shit on is because Twitter has a hate-boner for the creator. I can't even feel Wendigoon's response to the guy is fair.

This is very respectable of you. I am by no means a voice of authority on what is "good" or "bad" and all of my videos are just opinion. That being said, your response to criticism is profound and encouraging to see out of someone with talent like yourself. As mentioned in the video, I can't recommend others watch the series given its content, but I myself am interested in where you go from here. Take care

The best analog horror IMO is Local 58.

It is absolutely the gold standard. But I do like Gemini and Eventide a lot too.

He is going full Mr. Hollywood now that he has worked on an indy movie and is friends with KanePixels who is working on a backroom movie with A24. He likes to say he is humble and grateful, but the success is absolutely getting to him.

I agree with this but only because that Presidential directive for everyone to kill themselves before an unnamed enemy can get them is cool as hell and doesn't commit the sin of overexplaining things and hinting at aliens or spoopy ghosts.

I will never understand that Monument Mythos stuff. There are monsters inside the monuments that have something to do with Richard Nixon and James Dean and alternate timelines? Why would that appeal to anyone let alone the kids obsessed with it?

They don't have similar themes or settings. The creators aren't arguing OOC with each other. There's no reason this should be one video, or that they should be compared at all.

Technically it is finished. In the last mainline video the Iris is coming towards Earth and in the sleep image visualizer video someone dreams of the Iris arriving. It would have been be nice to see a found footage style video of the Iris enveloping the Earth and starting to digest the planet or to find out what happened with Jack in the end though.

I will admit that I found the series interesting at first. I liked the idea of it and the smaller interconnected plot lines.

Of course it had some unintentionally funny moments like a ship getting legs and falling over itself in Cairo. So retarded that I had to laugh.

Shit went balls to the walls though with the George Washington shit and whatever the fuck Corner Folk is. It should have ended after season 2 but come season 3 and it's suddenly Elon Musk on the moon or whatever.

It was a fun alt history series (at least for season one). A part of me is hankering for another Lovecraftian National Treasure series because I really loved the core concept.

Is it? I thought there was more planned. To be fair though I'd rather it end on a high note like that than continue on and suffer the same quality drop that most of these web series do.

I will admit, I found old Mandela fascinating before the future shit with Adam or whatever his name is.

I like the concept, but the execution never did it for me at all. The acting even in modern videos just feels really stiff and forced, and the writing behind it is sort of boring. The scares aren't convincing either.

There's a 4 part prequel series running at the moment, IMO it's pretty good but doesn't bring anything new to to the table story-wise, just showing bits of what happened to the camp back in the day.

I tried watching the video on those two analog horror series. Maybe I was just way too fucking tired, but the first 12 minutes seemed like nothing but self promotion and then it seemed like he immediately veered into "this one is nothing but spooky face pictures, and that's bad even though Mandella Catalog which I jerk off every chance I get did it. That one was okay because it really spooked me cause religious symbolism and stretchy eyes."

I also seem to recall him saying he wasn't going to give "points" because that goes against what he was trying to do, but then he said "I'll give this one a point anyways." before I said fuck it and just went to bed.

Wendigoon really took a nose dive on content, and considering he just started off as another iceberg channel that really says a lot.

As someone totally ignorant of the UrbanSpook drama past the very surface level of it, I thought the video was pretty good and that Wendi's criticisms were reasonable, I can't lie though that 9/11 call and Security footage from UrbanSpook actually scared me alot.

Same, tried watching, I was tuning out at the absolute fuckload of self promotion and then compounded with the atrocious open-room audio and ear shattering peaks of his voice getting giddy because he's not doing shill motions anymore had me put out the video.

His voice cracked at around 13 minutes too and that was like nails on chalkboard, I know he never was for high production value but this video has particularly shit audio quality.

There is a definite jump in quality in the last two videos that'll be interesting to see if it continues.

The biggest issue I think it has and ultimately why wendi doesn't like it is the lack mystery to it. Compared to something like Greylock where there's tons of unknowns that can be speculated about. Which is something clearly likes doing and second good video fodder.

I'll be honest, I don't get the appeal of this "analog horror" stuff. Like I get it can be creepy with spooky faces, but otherwise it's just like "WHOOOOA VHS SCARY!!!" it seems to me. Just something for zoomers primarily I guess.
