If I was either of them I honestly would just outright not publish these episodes and I would (horrifiyingly enough) take viewer suggestions over what they're doing now, which is having some gook pick and choose stories for them.
The problem is that the writers are the ones suggesting their own stories. It's what's happening in Analog Horror the creators are in the discords spamming their vids and having others do the same hoping to get attention.

I would assume its a loud minority or the paypiggies considering a vast majority of user suggested stories always tend to be awful (happy appy, my property, etc...)
It's reddit that they are catering too. The white power one is one of their lowest viewed episodes so clearly it didn't hit with many people. On their reddit though they were throwing themselves on the ground to performatively call it the scariest thing they have ever heard. Or they were commenting on the hosts and not the story.

The white power one is one of their lowest viewed...
I looked into this and its should be extremely concerning to the pair that their four lowest viewed videos (besides the first two intro ones) are all videos from the past month or so. July and August 2026 may have been seriously the worst month for the show so far.

They've also talked about wanting to read actual stories, not just Internet slop, and there's plenty of stories they could pull from. Start reading Lovecraft for fucks sake. Damn near all of his stuff is public domain and there's no shortage of things to make fun of and gush over. Half the shit they read is clearly trying to ape his style anyway, and doing it badly.

I never watched this guy's videos, but the one about the OKC bombing ("The Deadliest Domestic Bombing") is pretty bad. It sounds like the book American Terrorist was his only source. He completely ignores any involvement from other glowies (yes, I believe McVeigh was a spook all along). I've seen a few documentaries and listened to interviews with people who bothered to do more research about this topic. Off the top of my head Wendigoon leaves out:

- Andreas Strassmeir
- Terrance Yeakey
- Jesse Trentadue and his brother Kenneth
- security camera footage in the vicinity of the Murrah Building grabbed by the feds and never released, most likely to prevent the identification of McVeigh's accomplice AKA John Doe No. 2
- explosive charges inside the building and the witness who saw suspects planting them
- official reports by demolition experts who said that the van couldn't have done that much damage and that it was the explosives inside that were the main reason why the building was so busted

According to Wendigoon, McVeigh's sole motivation was to "avenge Waco". And hate. He was just a hateful guy, you know.

October's just next month, so I hope they at least TRY to read some more "campfire-story" anthology-type creepypastas for the season instead of more "My job is to make sure this light doesn't turn red, today it turned blue" type slop with like 5 chapters.

He claims to have relatives who are spooks and even talked to one for his Uncle Ted video. Which was also shoddy. It's to be expected at this point.

My issue with modern pastas and NoSleep stories is they're mostly just competent
I disagree, they are just bad, with the only consistently competent part being the openings. The issue is that it's repetitive in the flaws, and they are too in touch with the creators to really call out how uninspired and safe it is.

There's tons of good sources about the OKC bombing. It's so much more interesting and crazy when you look beyond the "official" version. If I were to guess, I think Wendigoon probably didn't care about the topic all that much and just decided to use a single source. I downloaded the book American Terrorist and ctrl+F'd the names I mentioned in my earlier post. Only Yeakey is mentioned very briefly. I doubt it has anything to do with Wendigoon's relatives being spooks. If you want to find more infomation, you can just look for yourself. It's not like what we already know can somehow be censored. This case is dead anyway.

If you're interested in the book, you can get it at Z-Library

Other than James Corbett (whose clip I posted earlier), Scott Horton is another guy who did a lot of good work about the OKC bombing and I consider him trustworthy. I also recommend everything he did about Waco.

There are also Lovecraft contemporaries and predecessors, like Lord Dunsany whom the huge teaboo HPL started out trying to pastiche.

They could even pull out Poe, just maybe not the greatest hits. I think a lot of young people haven't actually read the modern classics... which means it's free material.

Not to detract from anything, but I'm pretty convinced spooks lie about explosives used to avoid copycats (not that it seems to have helped much), and likely did that about McVeigh's stuff as well.
The most egregious is the London bombings, where the official story is that the muslims used ... pepper and hair bleach. To blow up trains and even demolishing a tunnel wall in the blast.

I can't remember where I saw it, but someone compared the bombing to something very similar that happened somewhere in the Middle East (I think). The payload was comparable and it was detonated at a similar distance to a big building. The damage was significantly less severe.

Back to OKC: again, I can't remember where I saw it, but I think someone made a seismic graph of the explosion(s) and it looked like there were three or so. I could be confusing this with another even, I'm not sure.

I think the absolute last thing I want from CreepCast is an entire episode dedicated to a guy who can barely string together full sentences, and a guy who has difficulty comprehending unfamiliar words, reading 19th Century prose.

Additionally, its just not really what I think the show is made for. I'm not an avid horror reader so correct me if I'm wrong but in my subjective taste, the show should be geared more towards unprofessional, amateur horror rather than genuine horror. The original draw of the show was the hosts personalities clashing with the mostly bad execution of these stories, not their taste in horror in and of itself.

But, I suppose the Penpal and Mother Horse Eyes episodes are good, even if I barely revisited them except a few times. I don't know, I'd be interested in seeing them try and maybe if they nail it, I would be open to it. But, as is, I'd sooner have them read Clockwork over Poe.

The guys are dumb. They'd legit sound like English Learners trying to read some of that stuff. Instead of raiding reddit they need to go and dig into the creepypasta wiki. Yeah the big stuff has been milked already but some of the leftover HAVE to be better than some of the reddit slop.

I think the podcast is best when theyre using the story to shoot the shit. If theyre reading like "I saw a Boy turn to a Man right in front of my eyes" they could probably talk about how it reminds them of like cronenberg or something and after theyre done with the topic they go back to the story, Sorta like the story is the tree and the entertaining part is the branches

I know that I’m the only one here that slogs through the Cryptid Iceberg videos, but Wendigoon rejecting the Pascagoula River alien story with his “two guys hanging out on a river somewhere they claimed to have seen aliens, just means that they were having gay sex” bullshit just threw off the entire video for me.
I don’t care if you make a dumb joke on CreepCast. But the younger guy involved is still living, and talking to people about his experience, which hasn’t changed, for over 40 years now. Is it really that difficult to just look into the follow up of it before you speak on it?

And I think it's clear they're too big and too soft to keep doing the "amateur" shit. Amateurs who are obviously using the format to try and get noticed by a publisher or Hollywood instead of just writing a fun story for randos. Which makes it all so fake and gay.
They also have a tendency now to get in good with the author, or the author is one of their dumb fuck reddit fans. And they can't shit on these people and their awful writing because they cultivated a viewer base that unironically thinks, like them, that "we're the good redditors". Even if the story is about a guy butt fucking a tranny to cure his nazi ideations or whatever the fuck.

Like Penpal. It's a fine enough story but these two clowns get all misty eyed over the most obvious plot twist and then bring the author on to suck his cock for 40 minutes. I doubt the show was made for that, either.

They sound like that already with stories written by redditors. Wouldn't change much.

It's wild to me what CreepCast hasn't covered yet. Mystery Flesh Pit National Park alone would be so insanely up Hunter's alley it's not even funny.

I wrote it off when the gave that evil Chinese carpet a B rank. I really do hope he does frame those whiteboards, as a testament to his arrogance as a creator.

Isn't it a bit too lore heavy, not enough cinema, though? He seemed to barely give a fuck over GHE for the same reason.

I do agree with you on this despite my personal pteferences so it seems like we're just shit out of luck and the show is going to be dead and gay, except for the few episodes that Hunter is in one of his moods and is able to kill Positive Polly in the crib.

It really is amazing how something as simple as "Read bad or old stories and make an hour or two riffing off it" can become so corporate feeling in like, a year and a half. I blame Fat and his insistence on turning his fag friend group into a production company for safe edgy skits.
