I’m not going to give Faust too much shit because she never drags her views into her shows but what the hell does she mean?

And I want to use this as a springboard for another topic; notice the Wicked Witch as her icon? That’s not just getting ready for Halloween, she seems to be teasing her upcoming Netflix show that got art leaked awhile back, which happens to star a witch and her cat familiar. I just think it’s funny with The Owl House is getting cancelled, another witch show is taking it’s place. And it’ll probably be better written to boot.

What she's seeing is only part of the problem. If you want a more kinder, gentler, honest way to create stories, a lot of things must change. The business would probably have to be overhauled. The question is, do we really want that?

I knew I recognized that cat from somewhere! This was given to Dana Simpson, creator of Phoebe and Her Unicorn, a once decent, if somewhat bland comic strip turned into Kid-Friendly SJW Propaganda Piece #5215 (which, coincidentally, is also getting an animated series on Nickelodeon, fittingly enough). Divorced from that, though, Katrina is actually a pretty charming little piece of animation! Gives me sort of a Peanuts meets Felix the Cat vibe.

So is she implying Vivziepop (who is a woman) is toxically masculine because her show has dick jokes, swearing and glorified violence? Because all wahmen have to be nice and nurturing like rainbow ponies and shit, right?

Well in all fairness she isn't wrong about Hollywood despite all their pandering they treat women like shit. I mean there's many actresses form the 2000s that I remmber were big who are now doing b-list movies because Hollywood throw them away to look for fresh meat

I love that the dad is voiced by the same guy who did The Cryptkeeper. Also Monsoon from Metal Gear Rising (which you can REALLY hear when he raises his voice).

It could just be me projecting my observations but when's the last time Hollywood embraced femininity? It seems like even American works that pander to women make the female characters androgynous and essentially "a male character in a dress" (Netflix She-Ra is one of the most prominent examples).

That is exactly what they are doing. Minus the dress of course. They just bolt on a hint of breasts (but not so big as to be problematic) to male body type and declare its a woman. Every episode the supporting cast is constantly in awe of how much a woman the protagonist is and say so out loud. This is because the artists know in their heart of hearts the audience needs to be continually reminded that their lead is not a man but a woman.

And so the story goes. The man with boobs approaches conflict the exact same way a man does. When dealing with interpersonal relationships they act like a man. And on it goes. But don't worry the writers remind you through the background noise. Despite looking like man, thinking like a man and acting like a man, this hero is most definitely female. Believe us, and not your lying eyes.
