Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

and again as ive said, it's not like owl house was a bad idea in the beginning. It's only real flaw was it felt too much like a western ripoff of little witch academia. Which I'm convinced the creator is a fan of and wanted to just make their own version of it. In the first season amity is the know it all smart alec who learns to loosen up with SOME hints that she's a member of the rainbow brigade, as is luz. But once they got a second season they kicked the representation dial up to 11, and it only got worse when they realized it was getting the ax.

The writers hopped they could play the lqbtqxyz pity card in the hopes of trying to shame Disney for cancelling them. Yeah well newsflash idiots. IF you force in morre "diversity" and "representation." You only end up alienating the normies who just wanna watch including kids and their parents. Cry bigot all you want but when it comes to cooperate America, outside June every year those cries fall on deaf ears that answer to one master...the almighty dollar.

The funny thing about having LGBT issues in animation, is that it isn't suddenly new or innovative.

I recently remembered having watched "For Better or for Worse" animated series by Lynn Johnston. There was this episode that blatantly talked about a Pride Parade. This was in Canada. During the late 90s. Lynn also happens to be quite conservative, an admitted "Child of the 50s".

I'm sure it went over a lot of kids' heads, but the fact that it didn't censor or pretended that it was anything else surprised me upon having watched it again. The episode showed that it can be done.

Now, I know what you're thinking. It's over the top, lecturing, and heavy on the theme. Nope. Not even one bit. It was moderate and as normal as what you'd talk about in a little suburb.

sticking to the topic of owl house, I actually got around to watching the first episode and....well it's almost heartbreaking to see all this potential in what the show could have been, had the creator's egos and desire to make the nonexistent diversity and representation quotas gotten as bad as it did after season 1.

The animation is really good, the humor is decent (a few jokes that drag on too long aside) and the world building is imaginative and creative...though it's not without flaws. Like even the moral of the first ep about being yourself no matter how odd you are is overdone, DreamWorks pretty much pioneered that cliché literally 20 years ago with Shrek.

And as I said the Hints at the character traits they'd adopt latter on are there; Luz is a tomboy, Amity's a know it all ect but they're tame in comparison to having luz dressed like a non binary clown or having them in a tunnel of love with the lez/bi flag colors in the background....yeah real subtile with those ones guys.

But yeah better than most western animation tends to be these days...but it's a shame it couldn't STAY that way.

I don’t have much to say, except that when you watch something like King Of The Hill and then watch The Owl House, you start to realize the quality of animation has really gone down the gutter.

Not even Ed, Edd N Eddy’s final episodes and a movie were like this, and Danny and the crew changed up the way how they animated their characters over those years.

One of the most annoying things about these cliched turds is claiming they've done something groundbreaking or pioneering when they're like the millionth fucking idiot to do it.

Then, they doll it up. Go into this college level philosophizing bullshit on how "speshal" and wonderful it is to be "free" and "open" about being a faggot.

I'm a fag. I didn't suddenly gain superpowers or win the lottery when I realized that I swung both ways, but for some fucking reason, they vehemently persist this delusional bait and switch in which being LGBT somehow makes you dIfFeREnt but at the same time like eVErYonE else. They deny it all the time, but their actions speak otherwise.

If we're like "eVerYOnE ElSe", why do the loudest say and do degenerate shit? It's gotten tired.

NOT EVEN STRAIGHT PEOPLE TOLERATE DEGENERACY FROM OTHER STRAIGHT PEOPLE! THEY PUT FUCKERS LIKE THAT AGAINST THE WALL!

Were the old shows animated in-house? Because I know pretty much everything modern is outsourced to Korean sweatshops.

That's actually way better than anything shown on Cartoon Network or Disney Channel nowadays

What also ignores me is that they belive only straight people can be evil. Ignoring the fact that 2 infamous serial killers Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gracy were gay..

Bundy wasn't, at least none of his victims were. Someone who would fuck rotting corpses would probably fuck a dude too but I'm not aware of that. Dahmer was gay, maybe you're thinking of him.

Oh shit my bad I ment Dahmer. Your right Bundy wasn't gay. I got the two mixed up.
Speaking of Dahmer

The age is slightly off he's seen as about middle school aged but Dahmer was born in 1960 and if the show takes place in 1972 to 73 he should be about 12 or 13 but he sounds like he's still only just 10. but they did make an accurate historical in joke. His rampant alcoholism started with being a binge beer drinker in his younger days.

Is official, gang. Problem is, we might get another YJ. Wow. I can't wait to see Tim sodomize a guy to show how bi he is.
Well, at least SOME good news came out today.....the coping, seething, and dilating from Lumity shippers the show's fans will only increase in volume, and yours truly, for one, is most definitely looking forward to it.
