Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Peter Robbins, the voice actor for Charlie Brown in the old cartoons died.
Pour one out for Peter. He went through a bit of a rough life, its a little sad if you look into it.

I guess they quickly forgot about it, just like when they forgot about attacking Wes Archer for making a GIF of a cop riding a Donut Motorcycle

I'm starting to think this guy in the HGS thread was right...

Everyday, I grow more and more thankful that I decided not to become an animator. Or at least, not to join this shitty industry.

The issue with that of working within animation, games, entertainment is how social it is, only because networking is technically essential if you want to break in (aside from having a solid portfolio) If I were to finally get a real industry job only to find out potential co-workers are openly shit-talking an industry veteran over petty shit like cop riding a donut motorcycle, I'd be discouraged from wanting to work for the animation industry too.

When I suggested a thread, this was exactly what I meant.

As a kid back in the 90s I watched the Mighty Ducks cartoon and thought it was fucking rad without even the slightest hint of irony.
Disney's answer to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but still a fun watch 20 something years later

A friend of mine is doing the 'Bill Plympton' method of just doing it independently. At least the newgrounds animators have better standards to not be shitheads like these twits.

Apple just revealed that the movie that Skydance Animation is working on now has been pushed back to August. The movie itself doesn't sound too promising. It already sounds like its cursed bad luck. We'll likely get a trailer around Summer or so.

He led a pretty rough life. Sad.

Oh come on, guys, it can't have been that ba-
In 2013, he pleaded guilty to threatening and stalking both his ex-girlfriend and a plastic surgeon who gave her a breast enhancement he paid for.
He also spent time behind bars for making criminal threats to a San Diego County sheriff.
Relatives told Fox 5 San Diego that Robbins committed suicide.
......JESUS CHRIST. Don't become a child star, kids - 9 times out of 10, it will fuck you up royally. Fuckin' F, man......

Edit: to add to the discussion of earwormy cartoon themes, and to lighten the mood a bit - the ALF cartoon's theme song legit slaps:

And of course Duck Tales.
This reminds me - the intro to the German show Jim Button and Thomas the Engine Driver always felt super similair to the Duck Tales inro.
This cartoon has altogether been the third adaptation of Ende's book (of the same name) I think.
The first one being a rather successful marionette play from the 60's - 70's, that was pretty charming honestly, but the puppet design of jim did not age well
