Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

It being too costly is bullshit, we all know they shut them down because they were direct competition (e.g. a threat) and clearly didn't want to work under the Mouse.
Plus, with Universal having DreamWorks and Illumination under their belts, Disney wasn't gonna risk it, by killing Blue Sky and transporting Locksmith to anther studio (originally Warner Bros. until Netflix picked it up).

And would the three exist if Seth had took the plane during 9/11?
I can't imagine any of Seth's other works existing without him. His only legacy would have been Family Guy seasons 1-3. Would that go down in history as one of the most tragic ends to a promising cartoonist career ever?

I'd say seasons 1-7 were the best Family Guy had to offer. I'd say the show should've just ended with season 6's two-parter episode with Stewie Kills Lois/Lois Kills Stewie.

I believe friends of his might keep it alive as a tribute. But not for long, and it never delves into direction it went when it was revived. There would be the Seth years or OG, then the post-Seth years.

I recently watched the two seasons of Ugly Americans with my boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. It's a shame it got cancelled.
Ugly Americans was great. It's not a masterpiece, but I was surprised that it was very creative and very funny. Like in terms of modern day adult animated shows between 2010s onward, this had every right to be way better than the likes of Big Mouth, The Great North, Our Cartoon President, Hoops or The Prince.

I have no expectations for this. Probably going to be on the level of strange world. View attachment 4677521

God this really does have "soulless" written all over it. Nothing about this premise sounds truly 'unique,' 'creative,' or 'wacky' enough for it to be a "true" Pixar film. At this point Pixar really is just "Disney Animations 2.0" because of how unexciting and unambitious their films are.

The worst thing you can say about it is that is dated (not to me though, I think it hits that sweet spot of being a Time Capsule). The style, world building and humour are legit amongst my all-time favourites in western animation.

Current year in that show? We didn’t deserve such beauty.

A nice simple premise with boring character designs. It's reminding me of when Luca was announced.

And just like Luca, there's more perverts wanting kids to be as sexually confused and mentally broken as they are. Gross.

Those people are gonna end up on a list a bad list
Well they're already on the retard list for saying this crap in the open on twatter. Granted it's a big list but it can only get bigger.

I'm still pissed that Pixar axed Newt because of it being too similar to Blue Sky's Rio. Sure, Rio was a good movie at the end of the day, but regardless of the final product, Newt would've been something we could've seen.

Of course in 2019, Disney bought Fox only to close down Blue Sky two years later because of the pandemic thew year prior and because it was costly as an animation studio unlike Illumination, Sony or DreamWorks.
If Disney was a person, it'd have an eating disorder. It goes on a nasty binge (buys up small/failing/rivaling companies they may or may not have had a hand in sabatoging winknudgeeyebrow) then purges in small chunks (Blue Sky, Fox) or full swoops. A topical example? They bought Avalanche Software off the heels of making games for Nickelodeon and got rid of them after making Disney Infinity (that toy game) only for WB to buy them up and now they're raking in millions off gamers fed up with troon tards. Bet Disney wished it had those millions right about now if Elio (and Wish) is the best they got.

Apparently this is the indian who was Deadpool's taxi driver? This is news??? I think it'd be news if it was Aziz Ansari or something but whatever, gives something for more nerds to be human versions of a WatchMojo video.

To be honest, if you (not you, just in general) were throwing around reddit-tier strawman posts like this the least I'd expect is a bunch of people muting your account.

Twitter's already annoying enough as it is without dealing with culture war shit.

For most people and then there were fewer is where they draw the line. It was the last time family guy did a special that didn't make you cringe from beginning to end (seahorse seashell party) or bore you out of your mind with seth espousing more of his prententions "im 14 and this is sooo totally deep mom!" Philosphy. (brian and stewie) also,

Peter Griffin being a dumbass but it's actually lol funny:
Peter Griffin being a jerkass and it's not funny at all:

Though ironically the can of whup ass cutaway that follows was actually pretty funny and I can see it being a prime family guy cutaway.

I'd say the cutaway gags do work well. At the writers knew when a joke is terrible, they could just bail out and do a quick cutaway.

Ugly Americans was one of those things that was just simply too far ahead of it's time. I think it could have been hugely popular if it had been made in a post Rick and Morty world.

My brain is weird and sort of has this arbitrary distinction of what a "superhero" is, so I just never thought of the Turtles that way for whatever reason.
It'd be easier if you watched it in the UK, since it was renamed to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles here. I guess ninjas are just too violent and make our tea go sour or whatever.

Then again, bri"ish call chips as crisps. I mean, that's all you need to know about the country.
