Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I'm assuming she's just referring to anyone who worked on Ren and Stimpy in general, and how they're all just a bunch of Sexist Male Gazing Creeps. And trust me... that's not the only stupid thing she's tweeted in the past...
there's a specific irony to the fact these are the same people who suck tranny gock at every moment. as soon as weinstein puts on a dress and starts exposing himself to little girls in the dresser theyre oh so valid and in danger of genocide and need to be fucked in order to prevent a new mass shooting

Are there any recent cartoons meant for kids that are actually fun and not too busy with politics and (wo)manchild projection and wishfulfillment?
The only one I can think of that might actually be enjoyable for kids and not just tumblr teens and womanchildren is the Ghost and Molly Mcgee.
(Sidenote, the amount of 10 yo tweens in the Owl House fandom that have been groomed by the womanchildren in the fandom to become demigirl catgender nonbinary trans asexual polyarmourous panromantics is horrifying.)

I kinda feel bad for current kids.
I know 'blah blah media that im not nostalgic towards sucks' and I know there used to be many stinkers when I was a kid too, but idk there were always at least multiple fun cartoons that had a good premise and were executed well, not really storytelling masterpieces but they were fun.

Idk if kids like binging plot-heavy cartoons now that streaming is so popular, but I always preferred to just have random episodes of multiple shows every day and if I didn't like something I'd just switch channels, and then made sure I just didn't miss that weeks epsiode of specifically and only Avatar to not miss anything important.
With streaming I never feel like rewatching anything either, while as a kid I had no problem watching the same episode on tv multiple times within a month.
Do kids (above toddler age) even watch non-anime cartoons anymore that frequently?
Outside of Peppa Pig and Doc McStuffins, I never even see cartoon-related toys anymore.

Maybe fun episodic shows were just better suited for cable? But it doesn't help that most plot-heavy childrens media rn is not that good and there's too much of it because everyone wants to tell an epic story tm.

He is, he's apparently doing it intentionally and aiming for a world record in farting or something. And he makes it far, 8 characters are eliminated before him.
And on top of that aside from farting his character is dumb and a jerk and significantly less likeable than Owen.

His introduction is telling enough.

Pain.
Canadians really don't think that kids like gross out humor that much right? When I was growing up, the kids who genuinely enjoyed gross out humor were a small minority. Total Drama continually crosses the "Poorly Disguised Fetish" line.

Speaking of Independent Animation, has anyone checked out this Fundraiser for another pilot called Boxtown
It honestly seems a lot more interesting than Kristen Gish's Kung Fu Gators short.

I actually like how this looks. It's got that mixed media feel that shows like Gumball and the Maxx had. I hope the beanmouth style isn't permanent though. I know Calarts is a misnomer but you can't blame people for thinking a lot of cartoons look fucking identical nowadays. One of the things that kept me from watching OK KO, I thought the style looked bad.

I distinctly remember being disgusted by TD and reruns of Ren and Stimpy's gross out humor when I was a child. I still don't understand the cult following behind that show tbh. Maybe I was (still am) just a wimp.

The dude that conceived of Neds Declassified and Big Time Rush seems pretty chill, and the child actors from those shows seem really mentally well compared to most others.
Scott Fellows who was once a Fairly Oddparents writer is the dude in question and also did Johnny Test and speaking of former staff members of the Fairly Oddparents and sorry to mention it again, Steve Marmel posted in a deleted tweet a rant about Kyle Rittenhouse and furter back in time, another one about former judge Roy Moore. It could be interesting to see how he might react if we talk to him about Dan Schneider and John K.

I definitely agree, it seems like a pretty neat little project. I think the another downside is that Kiwifarms regular Tara Strong is apparently voicing the main character.

Kiwifarms regular Tara Strong
great voice actress, incredibly awful person. Shame too considering her repertoire goes all the way to hello kitty when she was a kid.

I have my own conspiracy theory as to why inside job was canned. It had nothing to do with "low ratings." but the fact the writers behind the show were getting too...brazen let's say. And making too many references to the actual secret fraternities that run the show while us plebeians are the guinea pigs.

No I'm not saying I believe the reptoids or atlantis is real or the earth is flat or hollow, but there definitely is something fishy going on behind the curtains that most of us may never know the full extent of. And while inside job tended to go far into the scifi territory to ride Rick and Morty's coattails. (and be another adult animated show about an empty egg carton 30 something broad with major daddy issues, trying to balance a carrer with finding Mr. Right) The writers in the second season got a little too comfortable making references to what really goes on in the world power play.

They name drop actual celebrities like Keanu Reeves Nick cage, jay-z and so on being involved with the actual Illuminati and show it, and their symbolism like all the time it's not hinted at or implied anymore in the second season its out in the open. So the higher ups ordered netflix can it less people start seeing the forest for the trees, but hey when you selectively breed retards like Shion Takeuchi and Alex Hirsch to do your dirty work for you. Remember that Retards can't keep their big mouths shut for shit. Just look at all the examples on this very site. Chris blabbing it all to ILJ about fucking barb, Kevin Gibes constantly showing off his horrid amhole, Landon Hiscock dead naming himself with a high school jacket after showing off his own hideous spider mouthed neo vag.

Then why did she let him draw a caricature of her in the first place if she knew he was a pervert? Unless she's just assuming everyone who worked on Ren and Stimpy is a pedo, too.
That's what I'm thinking. Clearly the bitch likes to snort clout cocaine off twatter's back so for her not to outright name (or draw) the man himself is odd. Either she's making shit up or she knows something we don't (yet) and won't say shit until she can use it to look morally superior. Just like the rest of the industry cogs.

Don't be. They not only have access to the old good stuff if they know where to look but can get it at the press of a button. My generation had to ask around school or local shops where to get the good shit and rent stuff at the library or video stores. They have the same choices we did growing up on what to watch and what not to watch. Just because you target them doesn't mean they'll stand still and take it. They'll find a way to move out the way.

Only speaking for my nephews but no, they don't like plot-heavy shit unless there's a lot of action like Ninjago, Mao Mao and Ducktales. Otherwise they're watching Phineas & Ferb, Spongebob and Big City Greens when they catch it. I don't think either have watched anime yet outside of Pokemon so they could be watching and not telling anybody.

Duh. Episodic shows are meant to engage viewers for a little bit until the next show (or before dinner then bedtime), not keep you there to see what happens next. Plot-heavy shows are what's suitable for binging if the story is that engaging. Strange soap operas aren't on streaming when their whole schtick is to be engaging until the next episode to answer questions. 🚬

Beats me. All I know is that Katie was such a huge Ren & Stimpy fan during her childhood and was lucky to meet the creator John K., which hasn't dawned on her until recently that he was a child molester all this time. Sure, it may have given her a career in the industry, but even she admitted that she shouldn't have started her career with meeting a pedo and she should've been "a worse drawer."

C'mon man.
She can't do more than the specific whinny little girl voice in all the characters she worked on.
Rikku from FF10 and Paz from MGS Peace Walker are actually my triggering PSTD's.
