In this scene's defense, I actually think that kind of explanation would just flat out be cool in a setting with vampires or an equivalent written to be more bestially slaved to their instincts, especially if there were a bunch of other ways hunters exploited weaknesses in vampire biology to level the playing field. Would make it really feel like monster slaying has tangible refined intergenerational knowledge by having said knowledge be integral for every victory... all of which would be fine as its own work but leaves a bitter taste in my mouth hack fit into Castlevania as a vessel to retcon things that did not need to be retconned ala midichlorians from Star Wars.

Speaking of which, back on topic, I've never watched this series nor do I intend to. Is this just a one-off asspull to avoid giving symbolic power to the cross?
Its more a explanation on why vampire's from non-Christian lands (Dracula recruited vampires from across the global, there is a Japanese & Indian vampires in the series) are still effected by a holy cross. Peter Watts book Blindsight kind of pulls the same idea.

I'm partial to the theory that the holy relics are regional. So a holy cross would work very well in italy but not well in china, but a Chinese talisman would be super effective. Also explains why each religion trys to expand it's reach, as the further it's reach is the more powerful it is over a larger area.

It's a dumb explanation because following said logic, you could shove basically any slightly fancy-looking household item in a vampire's face and achieve the same effect. And it brings up even more questions like how the fuck vampires aren't walking around dazed almost 24/7 because there's a lot of things in the world comprised of big geometric shapes right up in their field of vision.

So I was recently made aware of this... thing called "Kevin Spencer"
Is this Canada's version of 12 oz. Mouse? This apparently makes /co/ fucking seethe whenever it's brought up for some reason.

i got around to watching the first episode of invincible season 2 (fucking took long enough) and its alright.
they stick quite close to the comic in regards to eve's life and backstory. this ends up being faithful but not engaging, its great that its being stuck to, but some things dont translate well onto the big screen.
i have read the comics and although its been a while i dont remember
Eve's friend rachel or whatever her name was nor the other phases,
being in the comic, at least they are experimenting with finding the line between faithful and engaging and learning from it.
i am quite interested to see where this goes.

He exposed a lot of people to a lot of things

and a lot of things to a lot of people
It's not like he's the only guy who ever whacked off in a porno theater. It only made the news cause it's pee wee. It'd be like if the guy who played barney started a sex therapy service....oh wait...that actually happened. (No really look it it up if you dare)

But anyways...was watching the old cartoon network city bumpers. How'd Oscar wilde put it all those years ago? The picture gets prettier yet the subject only gets uglier and more homely as time works its cruel hands on us both?

Certainly a step up from Soupy Sales and his crime.

And that is sad, seeing it erode as it did.

Is Lee Goldson in the know about this?

Shame the city era ended before chowders kitchen or flapjacks storm along harbor could be added to it...I'd rather see those guys added as opposed to whatever the hell Craig of the creek was, or that new show with a possible pooner in it. Gross girls was it? That's how little I care. Can't even be bothered to remember the name just that it's trying to evoke 90s gross out craze only while saying. "Girls can do gross humor too maybe better than boys."

You know sorry if this post feels too personal but for the first time in my life...I'm starting to feel my age creeping up on me.

Ask and you shall, somewhat, receive:

Glad Chowder, Flapjack, AT, Regular Show, Gumball, Rex, and quite a few other now classics got to at least get a taste of the city era.

Still speculation on wether or not the network will turn around or continue to plummet. What with the closure of the studio, the strike, but Craig and Gennedy coming back. They could find a way to bring Ole Joe and Bill back from the dead but one things for sure nothing will ever be as it was again. Oh well enough moping and gloom have some classic laughs.

Speaking of union bullshit, the strikes put the Spider-Freaks' third movie on pause for who knows how long.
Aw damn it, that's the only movie I was looking forward to. That entire series has been the only movie i've been looking forward to for like half a decade now. Unfortunate.

On one hand, it's definitely a good thing the animators are getting some rest because i'm convinced half of them would be dead by the end of production if they went through with that March 2024 date. On the other hand, I don't want to have graduated college by the time this film's out.

On a more positive note- this is the worst thing that's happened throughout this entire strike and it's a minor inconvenience at worst and a godsend for the people working on the movie at best. At this point i'm convinced this strike was a miracle sent to save us from the hell that is modern Hollywood.

In other positive news the first full episode of peach creek is finally out after it was thought abandoned by fans and patrons.

This...this is how you reboot a property woth a more mature setting and themes. Not..whatever the fuck cw powerpuff girls or god forbidden adult party cartoon tried to be.

Edit to avoid double post.

So I noticed the city era bumpers used coop and megas XLR as residents even though legally cartoon network cannot rerun episodes of megas. Makes ne wonder of the city era bumpers were in production back before the people working on it learned the ugly truth about the show.

It was for that one scene which was why I found it retarded because it had no real effect after the lecture. The vampire he fought in the next scene didn't even look confused when the cross was thrown at him. I'll say this though, if you find yourself watching this show, just do it for the action sequences. Those are the god things I will say about it.

The fags on Twitter are going gaga over the latest molly mcgee episode where Andrea says she planned on marrying a woman when she's older. Half are saying she's joined the Disney lesbian club (with amity blythe and Sasha waybright though only amity is confirmed a full on lesbo) the other half are saying she's shown interest in boys before so she must be bi, pan, queer whatever buzzword they can dredge up.

Can't this just BE a show about a girl and her best friend being a dead guy? It was admitably one line in an episode all about how the future isn't set in stone nor is who you are as a person. Andrea pretty much loses her family fortune and daddy's money so she tries to reinvent herself and discover who she is.
