Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

You know what the biggest irony is? Outside of Rocky/Bullwinkle and Daffy, if you were to compare the other 4, they look like they were made all within the same time period. It's pretty fucking telling how "professional" 3d animation has fucking stagnated within the past decade and a half
Bottom two even star the same guy. Something something two nickels.

Yeah, not too sad about the Live action Animation hybrid Wily E. Coyote and Road Runner film not seeing the light of day. It probably would've been pretty by the numbers. Anyways, the Looney Tunes are getting a fully 2D animated film for theatrical release which is being done by the same team behind the recent Looney Tunes Cartoons.

Here's a readable archive since the article is pay-walled

The Important Bit:
Warners declined to comment, but a good source tells me the decision was made this weekend by Warners film chiefs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, along with new animation head Bill Damaschke, after the online outcry by filmmakers and the animation community, as well as some heated back-and-forth between the studio and reps for the director and stars. Warners had agreed to pay the top talent their streaming bonuses despite the film being scrapped, but obviously, everyone involved in this project wants it to be released by someone.

lmao
The Sonic Cinematic Universe continues to grow!

I'd say Coyote vs. Acme needs to be released, unlike either Batgirl and/or Scoob Holiday Haunt where these two were already bound to suck to begin with.
I think part of the reason people get so mad about this stuff is that it's the company speaking for them, deciding on the quality of the show/movie before anyone has even had the chance to watch it. That was my take with Coyote, anyway. If it's shit, it's shit. Release the finished product and let the audience decide that.

OK, even I have to admit, the Chris Pratt saturation is getting kinda ridiculous
At least Bill Murray as Garfield (despite the script he was given) still sounded like Garfield. Chris Pratt is just Chris Pratt here, and at least he knew he was voicing Mario in that titular movie. It's just distracting through and through.

But I just hope they'll recreate the Pipe Strip just to do the same thing Lasagna Cat did

Hmmm...
I thought the appeal of Garfield was dying thanks to the live action movies. I doubt zoomers follow or even know about the comic strip.
They do. And it's all because of the memes

I mean WB at least released Space Jam 2 despite that it was bound to be shit to begin with.

We have Chad Quinton Reviews to bring the supremacy Garfield to Zoomers.

In all seriousness though, Garfield has been around for a long time while consistently releasing products. Many Zoomers remember CN airing the Garfield Show and it’s spin-off films. Then there is the gaming space where the meme of Garfield Kart got super popular, along with him being part of every Nick game since All-Star Brawl.

Also, can’t forget the amazing Trolling done with Garfield Kart’s Twitter posting alt-right content:

And don't forget other endless memes, such as (the already posted) Lasagna Cat and even Garfielf, and the latter's own series Fist of the Borf Star

At least Bill Murray as Garfield
since you mentioned it, I feel the need to point that Lorenzo Music was the voice of Garfield in the Cartoons alongside Peter Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters.
Which is funny considering Peter Venkman was played by Bill Murray in the live action movie and then went on to play Garfield in the Live Action films.
