I found another British stop motion show about talking cars: Dream Street! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGLgFzWOlzg&list=PLPsbFjIWrZX3h-WvihW8ZZ3o4WzVCdegf

I have to say, among talking vehicle shows, this one is fairly unique. Their city could have come out of an I Spy book, not just the vehicles talk (there are also talking cones, jackhammers, and traffic lights), and there are even some light sci-fi elements since the city is administered by a robot and the vehicles get special futuristic tools. The narration is calming (since it was meant to be watched before bed, similar to another favourite of mine, In The Night Garden), and it's just a really good show in general. I have no idea how I've gone so long without ever hearing of this show.

I've been getting cartoon series in my recommendations a lot this year of late 90's/ early 2000s shows I've never heard of.

First was 3South.
God damn, Brian Poshen really voiced a shit ton of characters in this. Nothing to noteworthy but was something nice to watch while I was sick earlier this year.

Now I got recommended Stressed Eric.
Any British Kiwi's fancy this show? Seems like the UK's PG-13 version of Hey Arnold for lack of a better comparison.

I found out about this "indie" project's Kickstarter recently, apparently it had a lot of people mocking it online for looking like the sort of junk that look's like it'd end up on HBO Max and other people blubbering about how fans of indie animation don't really like indie animation. It looks like every other "indie" animation project indistinguishable from the sort of corporate-produced animated shitcom, and complete with the terrible pitch being "It's like [x] meets [y] if [z] was [fill in the blank]!", at least it looks like the Kickstarter funding has barely nudged after the "publicity".

Putting in your sorted Hogwarts house is an automatic disqualification, I now don't care what your real qualifications are. Also Kris looks like a douchey Jack Murphy, and the fact Steph had free time for three whole years to write scripts suggests she hasn't had a regular job during that time probably for good reason.

.....they actually got a good replacement for Wallace?! I'm stunned
I forgot for a moment which one was Wallace, and was like, a new voice actor for the dog? But he doesn't talk... lmao
It is very nice to see Wallace and Gromit still looking as good as they always have. And not... you know, modernized. But this does just look very good. (Smart gnome... hah...)

This is me missing the point, but why couldn't they just say what the traits are that "earned" them the Hogwarts house placement? Gryffindors are supposed to be courageous and headstrong, she could've just called herself that and hidden her power level.

Being brave and headstrong is not a trait someone who writes scripts for a living has. If she was applying for a LEO job, sure, but not when it comes to writing for cartoons. She might as well have just come out to say how she's a member of Dumbledore's Army and save everyone the trouble.

The funny thing too is when I actually stopped and looked at the blurbs, those two have some pretty serious credentials. Steph has a master's degree, spent 8 years in the industry, and actually worked on an Oscar nominated movie. Kris has worked on a handful of successful shows and is a supervising director at Disney. It's cringe, but I suppose unsurprising they tried to be quirky by listing their Hogwarts houses as the first thing about themselves. They could've just left those out and had perfectly professional summaries.

The remaster of Coraline for the 15th anniversary just finished it's run in cinemas and i feel old. Both because it's been 15 years since 2008 and i remember what cinemas were like before girls would flashbang you by taking selfies in a pitch black room. The new short at the end showing the making of the new Coraline didn't have much interesting content, it did show the raw armatures and components but it was all stuff they had talked about before.

Only new real information was the reveal of their new movie and that "we couldn't find wet look spandex very easily to remake coralines raincoat"

It was nice to see Coraline in 3D again though. There are some blind bag figures out just now with cute designs on them and i got a circus mouse.

I refuse to believe these in particular were drawn by an actual adult with a job in the arts.

The weird anotomy, proportions and expression (especially for a BASE model used 6 times), it looks like it was made in ms paint, and with the bad desinging skills especially when it comes to colours it legit looks like the standard slop you see from 14 year olds who are JUST getting into fashion and drawing. Actually, its probably worse than the 14 year olds, even.

Its especially obvioused sandwhiched between competent cartoon artstyles.

Either this was a writer or direcror something shoving in their shit own designs, or some sort of diversity hire. Maybe both.
