It's hard to explain what I meant with dark, but I it was more of gloomy and had a different artstyle, if not having some kind of dreamlike atmosphere.Nurse Angel Ririka SOS, which apparently did get an Italian dub. starts off like any other magical girl show, but then it gets dark, like you said
What is this show? I saw Area of Between Friends fame make an h-doujin for it.I know for a fact this one is

The title is right there, it's Oban Star Racers. What is this show? I saw Area of Between Friends fame make an h-doujin for it.
Now my headcanon is that they all called him HIM because they were mocking his preferred pronouns

Thinking about it, I start to even doubt it was a magical girl show to even begin with.

Maybe I had just imagined it...View attachment 7066568
La Seine no Hoshi? This is the only other one I can think of that matches your description a bit
Oban Star-Racers is kino, I know that for a fact. dunno about the othersMaybe I had just imagined it...
Regard the others, has anyone ever watched them too?
"And as if it wasn't bad enough that he was born retarded and Jewish, he was also an alcoholic."Poor Craig. First, he had to live through the awful 2016 reboot, now this hyper-ironic current_year laughingstock. That man already perpetually looks like he's got one foot in the grave, he could certainly go without one of his creations getting bastardized again. I obviously have no proof for this, but I feel that he has some warm regards towards whoever cancelled the adaptation.

You know, the more I think about media corporations and copyright, the more dreary the idea of giving up the product of your enthusiasm, creativity and passion to the corpo machine for them to turn into a bland, recyclable, endlessly milkable commodity feels. I can't call myself a fan of cartoons like Hazbin Hotel or Digital Circus, but if projects like them help pave the way for more professional indie animation (and art projects in general), then I'm all for it.
At this point it might as well be a joint effort between him, Craig and Lauren with how the industry nepos tried to bury all three in favor of a decade of "blob heads with beanmouths and pride flags"I really want to believe it was Genndy who leaked that trailer as revenge for all the times his proposed IPs were rejected.
This is so vague that you might as well just look up a list of magical girl shows and see if any of the girls shown ring a bell for you.I know this is the thread for western cartoons but I also had memories of this was this dark and depressing spin on magical girls. It's not madoka magica, tho it's was similar, I guess? I genuinely struggle to remember anything about this one, aside of this bare description of it. Probably tho seeing any screeshot of it would help me remember it.
Can Exterminatus be a real thing? Please?See if we were talking 90s tas mad love harley quinn, that would make sense. I could see that as part of that afformenentioned crossover Craig wanted to do be it in comic or toon form.
But unfortunately THAT version of harley is for all intents and purposes dead and buried. Instead it'd be 2016 ppgs being fangirls of 2015 onwards harley quinn. The deadpool ripoff who thinks "lol sex! lol pet poop funny! Lol I so wanna bone my bestie posion ivy!"
(No seriously all that happened in the Jimmy palmiotti/Amanda conner version of harley and was the basis for the God awful show)
I'll never forgive them for what they did to my crazy waifu. They character assassinated the best new Batman character within the span of a decade and now she's being relegated to a fart fetish comic.See if we were talking 90s tas mad love harley quinn, that would make sense. Has she had good stories in the comics? By herself I mean not an adaptation of mad love.I'll never forgive them for what they did to my crazy waifu. They character assassinated the best new Batman character within the span of a decade and now she's being relegated to a fart fetish comic.
...what the fuck.

Warner bros is leagues more incomptetent than disney.I'll never forgive them for what they did to my crazy waifu. They character assassinated the best new Batman character within the span of a decade and now she's being relegated to a fart fetish comic.
McCracken only went with the later PPG reboot because he'd proposed like a dozen or so original projects only to have them turned down - you'd think being Mr. Powerpuff Girls would give him clout but nope. Even GT had to toil in the 3D mines and such for years and could barely get the projects like Unicorn Warriors he wanted made.Poor Craig. how?And Adult Swim absolutely fucked him over too, just like they did for Andy Merrill, Carey Means, and various other people.
brown people love thick women. until brown people vanish they'll keep shoving thic ladies into goyslop. Can this trend of twerking in children’s cartoons fucking die already? I did not need to see this blob lady throwing it back in her daughter’s face!
i mean Moral Oral season 3 is notorious for how it stopped being a "comedy" and went full on drama from the last 3 episodes of season 2 until the show ended.I've yet to see a western animation show actually manage to reach me.
not to rain on the parade but most people enjoyed the first 3 seasons when it was more formulaic and silly, once the clones die and Brock leaves the show becomes a soap opera. also pissed they never animated "movie night"That show never gets thelovewide recognition it deserves;
because 99% of the time the person making the show doesn't want to make that show but wants to make their own thing so they try to do that instead of making their own shit. This isn't even a new problem, it happened all the time, especially when adapting novels or existing IP. Its why former TV writer GRR martin made sure to quiz anyone that tried asking for permission to adapt ASOIAF and only those that got the correct answers got a shot.Maybe this is a really obvious question to ask, but given that literally all we are getting nowadays in terms of mainstream entertainment are remakes and adaptations of popular pre-existing properties... Why is everybody seemingly so fucking bad at it?
Like, all the groundwork has already been laid. The hard work's been done. Just look at what they did and then do that again.
Just put the fries in the fucking bag, bro.
the Japs usually make great ones. plenty of people prefer the live action death note to the anime because of the ending.Has there ever been any live action adaptation thats been good? Its so pointless to me. If I wanted something live action I wouldn't be watching fucking cartoons.
Death note's second half was butchered in the cartoon, there's not sugarcoating over it and it's no wonder why people either prefer the ending of the movie or tell you to watch the first half and read the second.the Japs usually make great ones. plenty of people prefer the live action death note to the anime because of the ending.
I would suggest you to try looking at Corto Maltese, it's an animated series adapted from a 60s visual novel that may scratch someo fo your itches.I've yet to see a western animation show actually manage to reach me
All I think of is how the Beavis and Butthead movie was going to be live action. What a disaster that would've been.
thats sort of reddits take too, like the pilot to riverdale also seemed like it played it straight but was clearly planning on taking the piss out of the entire premise at every attempt they could make. It’s been said before, but what CW tried to do with the failed PPG live action reboot is no different with what they tried to do with Riverdale by making the Archie characters dark, gloomy and way too gay for the sake of checking off boxes and not adding anything new or original to the “updated” story.
Same thing with what they did to Nancy Drew on trying to turn her into a “#girlboss” detective.
