To those putting Orwell on a pedestal. The man was not exactly a venture capitalist himself. He openly identified as socialist and even was a firm beliver in "real socialism hasn't been tried yet."I genuinely can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.
Yes, but he knew the specifics of USSR socialism and exactly why it didn't work, and every character in Animal Farm specifically represents an actual failing of the political philosophy. To those putting Orwell on a pedestal. They’re uncreative hacks that can’t actually create things of their own to really push there ideas, because every time they try they come off as either morally bankrupt, sociopathic, foster degeneracy, and most of the time the works themselves are just bad. Their only choice is to cannibalize and twist better works to suit their needs. It also doesn’t help that Studios like doing that, as it’s “safer”. The original Capitalism bad film is almost sure to bomb, an adaptation of a book that most middle and high school kids have to read? You might have something that turns a profit. Why are they turning a anti communist story into a anti capitalist one? What was the point in even adopting animal farm to begin with?
I'm not here to derail the thread, so I'll keep this one-post-short.Anytime I hear anyone say or hint "communists weren't that bad" I want to rub their face in the Pitești Prison experiment.
Exactly part of the problem is that you think "communism sucks" is "claiming someone is the true villain of the cold war."I'm aware that I'm in a minority here, but to me it's pretty useless to claim someone as the true villain in the Cold War. Both parties were Napoleon in their own right and eradicated any wrong thinking just to keep their seat once they got it. Painted the other as the war-hungry, blood-spilling mongrel while sweeping under the rug piles of bodies themselves. That's politics for ya, buddy.
It's just that now one is dead and irrelevant, and the other is alive and still poking the first's rotting corpse to elevate the attention from his continuous misdeeds.
Yeah, I take issue with the idea that communism's dangers or evils were somehow imaginary.a monstrous imaginary figure used in threatening children
Trannies tried to use that meme on me once while complaining about de-transitioners, it was cringe and gay.Exactly part of the problem is that you think "communism sucks" is "claiming someone is the true villain of the cold war."
Here let me tap the sign:

Nobody believes communism is dead and irrelevant as long as the CCP, Cuba, Vietnam, etc etc continue on. Much less the regular crop of idiots who keep advocating for communism seriously. (Hasan, Vaush, most of the media...)
What I was objecting was your use of "bogeyman" to describe communism. Which let's check the dictionary...
Yeah, I take issue with the idea that communism's dangers or evils were somehow imaginary.
That's not excusing or defending anything about the West or saying somehow it's perfect. It's pointing out there was nothing imaginary about all the shit communists have done and continue to do.
Since Animal Farm and communism are partially connected to the topic of Cold War, I brought it up. What I was trying to say that your previous example that you like to rub in other people's face is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. When everyone does such horrid shit, it's the norm. The norm for war times. There was no other way about it, which is why both sides did what they did. It's hypocritical to claim one as evil when the truth is far more complex than a red scare story from 40s."communism sucks" is "claiming someone is the true villain of the cold war."
Communism had a lot of faults but what Orwell wrote was extremely hyberbolised and spiced up with bullshit to get his flat morals across. You can say the same about Trump's misdeeds too, which is why he is the new villain of the current year propoganda piece. Yet again I notice you using the concepts good VS evil here, which yet again proves that you are not as different from Seth Rogan in your thinking.communism's dangers or evils were somehow imaginary

And now I’m wondering which parts are “extremely hyperbolized”. Is it the overwork for meager gain? The sheer inequality? The mass executions? If it’s the last one, boy do I have some things to say about that! Personally every time I think of communism I think about the mass deaths in every single regime, including how the Khmer Rouge had a tree that was warped from how many babies and children were smashed against it.Communism had a lot of faults but what Orwell wrote was extremely hyberbolised and spiced up with bullshit to get his flat morals across
literally everything you've described if not more. Again, I am not here to derail the funny cartoon thread, so calm your burning asshole. And now I’m wondering which parts are “extremely hyperbolized”. Is it the overwork for meager gain? I'm sure they were keeping close to the look of the original book illustrations.Hey guys....
So, I never did watch Arthur. Never even once.
I do sometimes watch youtube videos about it, like the ones by PeanutButterGamer.
And every time I do, I ask myself "what are all the breaks in the line-art about?"

Seriously, look at the outline of Arthur's face, or how the lines separating his sleeves from his shirt. Also very noticable in the walls in the background.
Some shows are just like this, but for some reason I feel like with Arthur its particularly noticable. And at first I thought it was just a result of digital remastering, but its still happening in the final episode (which was animated on PCs to begin with) so I guess its a stylistic thing?
Dunno, call it one of those autistic things I happened to notice about a show I don't even watch, but I'd love to know if anyone ever heard anything about why this happened.
“We have the real world, we have the Seuss’ world, which is where the Cat comes from, and the boxes’ world,” said co-director Alessandro Carloni of the feature. The latter has a very simple explanation: Gabby and Sebastian’s family has just moved into a new home.
THE KIDS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE INNER LIVES, YOU DUMB FUCKS. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A STAND-IN FOR THE CHILD AUDIENCE. AND OF FUCKING COURSE "MUH ADULTING IS SO HARD". NEWS FLASH RETARDS, WHAT YOU'RE DOING HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE BEFORE -“We chose to introduce our characters through the content of their boxes,” said Carloni. Left on the floor, they will allow the Cat to take the kids on crazy adventures after turning their old couch into a magical transportation device. “Parents know that all the kids need is a couch and a bunch of boxes,” joked Erica Rivinoja, co-director and writer.
Sebastian’s box is all about the ocean, and his desire to reconnect with his older sister who’s not playing with him anymore. But this underwater universe will feel “handmade and not mass-produced: as if it was created by one wildly imaginative kid. A world of plenty from nothing but imagination,” assured production designer Aidan Sugano. Gabby’s box reflects her past as a “band nerd” and what she’s currently going through – she desperately wants to go back to her old school and old life.
Art director Amos Sussigan explained: “Emotionally, it lives between Sebastian’s playful chaos and full-blown existential dread – which is what I’m feeling right now. She’s romanticizing the past. It’s not your typical reference for animation, but I was looking at ‘Euphoria,’ which is a bit extra and bold, and that’s what we tried to do with Gabby’s world.” “It becomes this wonderful journey into her old life. She gets to re-experience it – not how it really was but as she remembered it. She sees everything through the eyes of nostalgia, which obviously clouds things. Even her modest home becomes a castle,” said Rivinoja. “And then we have mum’s box. She’s an overwhelmed yet tireless nurse. She has all the things us adults love: tax forms, insurance documents, paperwork. Her children think it’s all she cares about.”
Arthur was kino before they started animating in cheap as hell flash. Plus it went woke near the end.(yeah I know, more in depth and less complaining about wokeness but it did happen and is a factor)I'm sure they were keeping close to the look of the original book illustrations.
