Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Sega doesn't usually mind people making fangames and shit but I can't imagine them letting this one slide, unless "Team Sea3on" (guys from Fans United for SatAM) does something about their Patreon (I don't think claiming to be non-profit will slide). It'll also probably be just their webcomic in animated form.

At the very least, it's certain that Richard Kuta will probably flip out over this and how he wasn't a part of it so it doesn't really count.
Another wasted effort from sad fans.

GaMM is a pleasant surprise. Love the high emphasis on buddy comedy/odd couple friendship w/o any shipping crap and, wow, girls are actually funny for once and not self-indulging mary sues like in owl house. Reminds me of early 2000s nick toons. Even the "calarts" style is not as jarring and coloring is pleasing to the eye.
The artstyle itself is a two fold throwback; the art, especially the backgrounds, is inspired by UPA cartoons, making it a modernized take on UPA inspired cartoons of the late 90s and early 00s. All in all, Molly McGee is simultaneously refreshing from the rest of the crowd and weirdly retro; it probably helps that the creators are Disney veterans. Hopefully they don’t fuck it up in the second season with lore and shipping.
Ironically this nearly was a Nicktoon before it was rejected and pitched to Disney Channel. Is it any wonder that Nickelodeon is relying on older IPs nowadays?

Poking my head over from the Anime thread. Is there a single show since I gave up after Gravity Falls to watch? I'm an animation nerd at heart, but nothing western has really done it for me in a while.
Duck Tales remake was good and though I am behind Amphibia is fairly solid, though I suspect they're going to end up crowding way too much into Season 3.

If action-adventure shows are your speed, might I recommend Primal? From the same guy who brought you Samurai Jack, it’s a tale about an unlikely duo, united by tragedy after the loss of their family, filtered through amazing battle scenes in a prehistoric death world reminiscent of the works of Robert E. Howard.

Invincible and Arcane are also fairly popular shows with good doses of character interaction and straight up action.

The Mario movie has been delayed to April 2023. Despite all evidence to the contrary, this tweet is not fake.

Holy fuck, how you got that hidden ending?
Playing Sonic Adventure DX from PC in 2003?
Nope, it's in the super rare, only-seen-by the-executives director's cut. The director was trying to make a statement about unchecked autism and where it might lead. Executives, of course, disliked it and made them re-write the ending so that Sonichu says "Ready when you are, brave and stunning Christine!"

The twist ending is what really ties it all together.....

Somewhat unrelated but someone has to restore that video to the jail saga page on the cwcki, it got removed from YouTube recently.

Anyways to stay on topic have a random clip from beavis and butthead.

Legit takes me back to the days when there was no forums or social media to talk about movies over. All you had was word of mouth and pure memory. I miss when we would just talk with actual words about stuff like that *sigh*

We did that ALL the time. Nobody would shut up about these movies 30 years ago.

Sort of want to watch the new Dreamworks The Bad Guys, even though it is furry bait (wolf character was designed to be as hot as possible), and I expect the plot to be entirely predictable.

I like the artstyle which was apparently inspired by French comics + the semi-retro LA setting + the gang's charisma & character dynamics.

That is outright goofy. It's like it's trying to be serious but the whole premise of an Anne Frank fanfiction (complete with "fiery teenage" OC protagonist) is inherently ghoulish and silly, like that holocaust clown movie. Good visuals though.

I heard Anne Frank is played by the same person who played Anastasia (yes, that Anastasia) in this movie. Don Bluth, eat your heart out.
Rasputin helps Anastasia escape Lenin's murderous plot through a time travel portal. Landing in Madison, USA, in 1988, Anastasia is befriended by a teenage girl, Megan while hiding from Rasputin who bound by an evil spell is out to capture her.
Incredible

This sounds like an either so-bad-it's-good trainwreck, or an unbelievably boring slog. There is no inbetween.
