Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

So far I believe Cartoonito’s line up is gearing up to have spin-offs of Craig of The Creek, Tom & Jerry, Batman, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Looney Tunes, and Scooby Doo.

For Batman, we have Bat Wheels, which looks decent in all honesty.
Designs range from good to absolute shit

Can't say I'm surprised. Now we have a generation of this shit to look forward to.
*sigh*

I am more talking within the context of Cartoonito. CN/Warner has this huge initiative to do a pre-k block with their IP, so I am surprised Scooby was not amongst the new series. You would think a mystery show would lend nicely to an educational format compared to say, Tom & Jerry.

I was wrong though, just found out they are doing a Scooby Pre-K series for Cartoonito:

I swear to god if Scrappy doesn't return for this.

Scrappy Doo is living proof of mankind's laziness and disrespect. The little bastard SAVED the original show from cancellation and they repay him by shitting all over him instead of--i don't know, just trying to revamp him in a way that isn't irritating.

They've done so for Snarf. Idk why Scrappy is so fucking difficult. He's a literal puppy. How hard could that be?

I'm kinda torn between "what in the actual fuck?!" and "this is actually kinda batshit amazing "
Elmo is also Jimmy Fallon now:

Not all of it is bad. Keep in mind, these are pre-k shows. They honestly seem to have a lot more heart and work put in then most in the genre. Stuff like Batwheels looks way better than it has any right to be, same with Bugs Bunny Builders.

Here are some other toons on the block for those not in the know.

First we have Care Bears Unlock The Magic

Next up, Caillou is being rebooted, nothing official has been shown yet for Cartoonito, but a special is in the works it seems. I believe this is inevitable as Caillou was the top rated show on the block.

Thomas is also returning in a new series Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go.

Lucas The Spider from the popular YT series is also part of the line up.

It's on Tubi. Maybe it sucks, maybe it doesn't, but apparently the Freak Brothers are still the old pot-smoking hippies they were back when.
For some reason, me remembering you fuckers talking about this made me rejoin this site. I don't know anything about the Freak Brothers, other than it was an underground comic that got referenced here. I was watching Kevin Spencer (a terrible, Newgrounds quality show that makes me nostalgic, and make me laugh because it was funded by the Canadian government) and Tubi recommended this to me. The first episode is alright, it made me laugh a few times, but if the sassy black lady in a cat's body wasn't in the comic, they fucked up, because that is the only shitty part of the show. Other than that, it's just a bunch of dumbass stoners that make me laugh.

Well, thankfully this isn't doubleposting. But I just watched the second episode of the Freak Brothers...and Jesus what a drop off. It focuses on all the boring ass female characters, and relegates the freaks to a dumb side plot about growing weed out of one of their asses. No wonder no one talked about it since it came out. A shame, I liked the pilot and designs. Are there any half way decent comedic cartoons nowadays? Primal kicks ass but is an action cartoon, Smiling Friends and the Aqua Teen shorts recently were decent, but I can't think of a single comedic cartoon actually airing right now.

You mean Fat Freddy's cat?

I see that there are many old cartoon aficionados in the thread, so I'd like to present this treasure trove of animation - over 3600 of Soviet and Eastern European cartoons in one place, probably the largest collection on the Internet.
Enjoy.
:gold:
I was expecting something a little more organized than this. My Russian skills aren't near as good as they should be, but at least I can recognize a lot of the titles.

I have no idea, this was my first exposure to the characters. I just know it was an obnoxious fucker in both the good pilot and shitty second episode, and they gave it a black lady sounding voice. I wondered if it was like Beauty in the BoBoBo manga, where it worked in the comic but was terrible in the cartoon. Anyways, I guess it doesn't matter, considering the second episode sucked. Are the Freak Brothers comics better?

Maybe. I've never been a big fan myself, but they were popular back when.

Oh no. I'm not calling it yet but I'm having to consider a very sobering thought.
Blueyfags might be right :stress:(:_(

they will never ever acknowledge Johnny Bravo today, it makes me kinda upset too

I have a little sister and she watches bluey, from what I've seen, it isn't bad I wouldn't watch it in my spare time but in terms of pre-K entertainment it might as well be kino.

Thinking of what Poland has done with putting their films online, it's nice when they acknowledge and respect their history, instead of throwing it away. Reminded myself of this short film from Bulgaria I used to see on Nickelodeon's Pinwheel series 40 years ago. Don't know if that country has anything like that set up. but certainly something that needs attention.
