Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

There's apparently a new flap about the Owl House being antisemitic. This seems to be due to the antagonist being genocidal and the fandom is now at war over whether only Jews can talk about genocide or not.

Ahhh, the Woke eating their own. Ya love to see it.

Probably Reddit tier comment, but the site problems and fixes last month reminds me of that Invader Zim episode where Zim tried to kill Dib by changing the past only to make him stronger.
Oh shit I remember that episode. As Dib was basically at Zim's door in a suit of mech armor zim tried tossing rubber pigs into the time machine hoping it would stop Dib at some point only for membrane to add bigger and badder weapons to the suit till Dib practically had Zim right where he wanted him.

Though I'm not sure that's the right comparison to make, since everything was eventually set back the way it was before aside Zim having a rubber pig in his head for a brain.

Idk, the person causing all this mess ending up with his brain fatally altered is pretty much a certainty. The question if it will be gravity, lead or drugs.

All of these distractions from the “Bi Pride“ pin to whatever this has to do with Jews and anti-semitism is just making one really question what any of this has to do with a cartoon like The Owl House.

Terminally online Twitter addicts ≠ Real fans of the Owl House/your favorite piece of media

>niggers fucking
>IN SPACE

but how does the space stuff factor into it?
sPAcE?
Thing is, the plot isn’t really about space. According to Wikipedia:
Jabari is a charming, streetwear-clad artist on the cusp of real success. After a chance run-in with his cool new photographer neighbor, Meadow, Jabari has to figure out whether he can make space for love in his life.
>show using a word made for space travel
>uses it as euphemism for finding one self in love
>finding space for love
>traveling from front to back for love
>in your space-like world

I feel genuinely sorry for the lot who worked on Owl House. Because when it came out it and Amphibia were both being pimped as the "hey guys, did you like Gravity Falls? Because these are going to be good follow ups." And initially it looked to be true.

But as time wore on Owl House just got worse. I'm not going to pretend Amphibia was always perfect but it was a lot better and I suspect may be treated fondly in the future. Whereas Owl House increasingly became for a very specific fanbase, none of whom are children and most of whom should not be allowed near them.

Disney shitting on aside any of you lot seen Morph?

A friend's little one loves these things. As in will watch the 30 odd minute that represents the first Sky series at the drop of a hat and react every time as though it's art incarnate. They've obviously little, like cannot even say the name of the show fully but can just vaguely sound it. But the fondness they have for it reminds me of how a lot of children react to some of the various stuff on Youtube Kids where it seems to vomit a fever dream to the fascinated children.

Good on that kid - Morph is the shit. Source: Got hooked on Aardman's stuff by watching Wallace & Gromit and it's been a everlasting trip down the rabbit hole ever since.

You're right but give they're at the age where "mor'" means either Morph or more it can be amusing at times.

On the topic of Aardman's stuff if you've not seen it A Grand Night In is worth a watch. It's a documentary narrated by Julie Walters.

And Wallace and Gromit is amazing. The extent of emotion they manage without dialogue is astounding. I do consider Aardman to be alongside Henson when it comes to their personal field.

I love Morph, along with the show where he originally came from.

Since Null's site was crushed by a Cloudflare in a freak piggy accident, I have created the new MegaKiwi 3000 fusion-powered titanium exoskeleton! It will give him the strength of ten thousand kiwis!

Cartoon Network Unveils New Anti-Bullying PSA Campaign
Cartoon Network is speaking up against bullying again, in recognition of October as National Bullying Prevention Month. The cabler has released a new PSA titled “Redraw Your World Without Bullying.” Part of the award-winning national campaign, “Stop Bullying: Speak Up,” the PSA will also be available on all Cartoon Network social platforms, including YouTube and Instagram, beginning Monday (Oct. 3).

Under the network’s “Redraw Your World” tagline, “Redraw Your World Without Bullying” combines real-life kids and original animation plus some Cartoon Network characters, including Craig Williams, Raven, Beast Boy, and Robin. The PSA outlines how to be a successful ally to someone experiencing identity-based bullying, which targets an individual’ identity, such as their race, religion, disability, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical appearance.

Drum sensation Nandi Bushell joins the “Stop Bullying: Speak Up” campaign with a rocking message that shares all the ways kids can use their voices to enact change. Available Tuesday, Oct. 11, on the network’s social platforms, the video outlines the importance of embracing individuality, supporting friends in need, and being an ally to all communities.
