The problem is that the Western Industry is California and shitty Canadian cities that are full of Canadians. These people cannot understand differing perspectives and are a cancer on the Western entertainment industry. These places attract people who are very easily shaped into the same mindset as those raised in it. Nips are actually a bit spread out.

The issue with the Western Indie market is the same thing. It's a bunch of richfags on either coast having no actual struggles in their life beyond their Grandma didn't want them being buttfucked by another man, but eventually she realized she didn't want to die with hugging him one more time.
They cannot make art because they are effectively sociopaths who want praise. They want all the benefits without any of the hardship that comes with trying to make anything. The fact that they can outsource more and more of the work exacerbates this.

Anyways, in a recent episode where the griffins travel cross country to the last blockbuster (yes seriously) they make a stop in middle America and of course the Cali born and berkly educated writers portray everyone there as red Maga hat wearing Trump supporters who can only squak Trump! Like murders of crows. We get it animation writers you're trust fund babies with white guilt and hate anyone not born in California or New York.

“Animaniacs was always political” is a constant excuse from these people, as if a joke about Reagan sounding insane for saying he was going to be President some day somehow matches up to the constant whining in the reboot about how Trump stole the election.

The reboot Animaniacs is guilty of hypocrisy since you can't make a song about how abnoxious and irritating a constant stream of reboots are when you yourselves are a needless reboot.

I absolutely hate the art style. The giant heads just look so disporsional and the city uninspired, just another city. Despite none of them being pretty the plant people are somewhat creative, fun and varied, everyone else has nothing to them. Especially the cloud people are uncreative and the water people are ugly lobs. Just why?

We are well pass beyond the point of diminishing returns when it comes to seeing some fancy new CGI technique being shown on the big screen as the selling point of a new animated Pixar movie.

I'm sure the movie makers are going to peddle how advanced are the simulations used to render all the materials and physics of the elements of the characters. Who gives a fuck about any of that nowadays? Modern PCs and consoles can generate visual spectacles that are on par with anything an animation studio can put on a screen, and do it in real time as well.

What matters most now is the orginality and creativity of the art direction and the writting because technical prowess is already a given, The elementals in this trailer look excedingly generic, definetely not something i would expect from a high ranking studio.

As for the urban setting, no surprise whatsoever, A movie by millenials for millenials. Just as the character designs lack imagination so too does the setting. Bugmen cannot fathom stories outside of their concrete and metal hives.

Absolutely have no clue how this is gonna turn out, but as usual about anything nu-disney, it'll probably just be a mediocre love story filled with trials and tribulations. Finding oneself, trying to stop the universe from falling apart because one of the important elements are missing, all that shit.

I can't help but notice that she was the only fire elemental in the entire trailer and that she was also the only character who was all bundled up. I'm sure it's just going to be another racism plot about how flame niggers are elementals too.

Has anyone seen the new disney movie Strange World? I heard the opening box office has been garbage but not much else. I have little desire to see it but I want hear what sort of a mess is it.

It's trending on Twitter right now and the tag is filled with the following:

• It stars a gay negro (they keep including the whole Gay Acronym when talking about gays, bis and trannies like the character is some queer Avatar whe it's one or two of the letters. Just something I noticed popping up a lot).
• It's flopping because it stars a gay negro.
• It's flopping because of Bob Chapek who sucked at the marketing for other films (even though under Iger's watch I didn't know about Encanto until it came out and people spread the word) and of course canned Owl House for it's gay content (when Owl House was just poorly written halfway through its first season).
• It's flopping because of Chapek and Iger swapping seats again (my guess too, nothing gets done during mergers and regime changes until it stops).
• It's flopping because it just looks boring and uninspired compared to past films (probably the real reason but muh ghey nigroo).

Regardless of the film's reception or box office, I'm not going to bother. Looks like shit and is already attracting the usual audience with goldfish brains.

Just saw del Toro's Pinocchio in the theater. Holy. Fucking. Shit. The best animated fim of 2022 bar none. The textbook example of how to modernize a story while still keeping true to its spirit. Also the opening montage gives Up's a run for its money as the most affecting 15 minutes of animation of all time. 10 out of fucking 10.

Great to hear. Trailers looked promising so I'm happy to hear lives up to them. It won't be coming on any screens near me so I'm waiting on the Netflix release but still.

The only conservatives I saw "freaked out over Lightyear" were the pop culture youtubers clickbaiting. Most people were just bored and disappointed Tim Allen wasn't in it. I do wonder how well the toys of the cat sold since everyone loved him.

The only conservatives I saw "freaked out over Lightyear" were the pop culture youtubers clickbaiting. Most people were just bored and disappointed Tim Allen wasn't in it. I do wonder how well the toys of the cat sold since everyone loved him.

To be fair and kinda generous, I did see parents express annoyance with Lightyear and the gay kiss. Mostly because kids were confused by how two women make a baby and how that wasn't a conversation they wanted to have with their kids.

I have seen similar comments about Strange World. Moms and dads saying something along the lines I don't care that gays exist but I don't want them pushed in my kids entertainment. I want to choose when I have sex and sexuality conversation with my kids when they are ready for it. That they don't take kids to watch Disney movies anymore because they don't trust that there isn't propaganda in them. Plus that some kids have found the new Disney movies boring and not worth of rewatching.

Also intrestingly most paying Disney+ customers aren't families with little kids but fairly old adults that don't watch anything new, only disney classics. That one is a leaked rumor so grain of salt and all that.

Well, there's certainly enough anecdotal evidence for me to believe that. Childless thirty-something millenials and boomers are about the only fans Disney seems to have left.
