Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Sequels are a sure bet compared to new IP's and most studios are scared to make anything like than maximum money. If you can do said sequels cheaply, all the better.
It's why big corpos try to stay safe in their lanes by copying the formula over and over rather than trying something new or original to make money. They keep putting out mediocre, even forgettable products for the past few decades, and by the 2010s onward, things have gotten much much worse

It is a movie that is better if you don’t think too much about it. The cast and character writing is pretty good, along with the art, but the story falls apart when you bring any knowledge of Spider-Man into it. The film essentially boiled every Spider down to being the same character just to have a weird plot where Miles breaks canon. I may like Gwen, Miguel, and a lot of the Spiders. Hell, they even have well defined motivations. It just sucks that the main crutch of the plot is responding to online criticism of Miles being pointless.
theres something so weird about how metaness infects pop culture. are writers THAT insecure?

Yes, especially since Miles sole reason for existing is to be a spare Spider-Man if the Ditko estate ever won the rights back to Peter and everything in Amazing Fantasy #15. Marvel settled with the Ditko estate last year over the rights to Spider-Man, which means they'll push Miles harder and cuck Peter more out of spite for being forced to pay up.

Across the Spider Verse, more like Across the Seizure Verse. I wonder if you guys remember the scene where Gwen reconciles with her father, by god, the colour palette in those shots is fucking neon blue and pink and clashes so hard that it was hard to look at the screen. I wonder what compelled them to colour the scene that way. And to think people praise this film as the forefront of animation... :lunacy:
