Ohh...No, No, no, no...

Wild Robot bros, we got too cocky. DreamWorks is now rushing it out the door for quick shekels and to screw the union over.

>have your movie milked into the ground at Disney because of corporate greed
>get kicked out of said company and the movie you were working on there because the head honcho disagrees with your vision
>have your magnum opus at the new company you work for rushed out the door because of corporate greed

Poor Chris Sanders can't catch a fucking break can he? (:_(

The whole ''Dreamworks renaissance'' thing is so funny now. Puss in Boots 2 is a great movie, but people were just blinded by the hype. Literally few months later we got Ruby Guilmann. You know? A movie that didn't even make past it's budget back? Or at least 50 million dollars? Megamind 2 is so bad that literally no one is defending and Kung fu Panda 4 is the worst installment in the series.

Flew too close to the sun one last time.

Eh ruby Gilman to quote my own opinion on it...Is like an overcooked seafood boil. Plenty of seasoning but none of it's in the meat. Its ok as far as girl fish (no pun intended) outta water stories go and was a better mermaid movie than the actual little mermaid except with a jungle bunny remake that came out at the same time.

kinda a shame the only people still talking about ruby Gilman at this point are coomers paying for porn of the main characters.

Who was asking for more megamind? It's not even like there's a megamind meme going around. At least bee movie had that "bee movie except every bee" meme going for it that sparked interest about a sequel. The only reason one (thankfully) didn't happen is Jerry Seinfeld refuses to return for one and DreamWorks has just enough dignity left to not move forward without him. (for now)

Again after 3 wrapped everything up who was asking for more of the jack black panda? If it wasn't for animation taking a long time even today I'd swear DreamWorks whipped these up in a desperate plea to remind people of how good they used to be after nobody took to their new ips like Gilman.

Found an interesting article while looking this up:

There's also a gem in the comments. There's an even earlier analogue of "Save the Cat"!
It was when Vogler's book 'The Writers Journey' was adopted as the blue print for every single Disney film rather than, as Vogler suggested, just a tool to help creatives come up with more ideas. Whenever a Disney hero or heroine climbs a hill at the end of act one to sing a 'somewhere out there, there must be a better life' song that's the also the sound of Vogler being run into the ground mercilessly.

He predicted his doom.

He even predicted the rise of Pixar, Dreamworks, et al.

Schafrillas Productions made the movie big and it has had multiple large memes since between the "My death was greatly exaggerated", "There is no queen of England", "I love you random citizen", Snotty Boy (Back at The Barnyard) glow up, Markiplier as Metro Man, penis music, and no bitches.

First feature animated internet exclusive show I saw, that actually had an ending with continuity, made by Escapist with Johnny Etco - very crude, with a wild story that had no hands and barely arms, about the insane surviving the apocalypse.

I honestly don't blame you for forgetting the third Trolls movie. That may have gotten its budget back overseas, but still not a success. Megamind's sequel and TV show made for its TV division has always been a mistake. KFP4, while still enjoyable, is easily the weakest. It's a shame that we were clambering about a return to form after The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots 2 two years ago, but that spark of optimism hasn't last long

Bee movieitself had been a meme by itself for God knows how long

caricature? -ishness? What's Killgar a caricature of?
I meant cartoony exaggeration.

But that whole post was me being baf at how my brain reacted to said cartoon, so I wanted to say SOMETHING negative (it actually is cool)
