OK maybe I was being too "nice" to the ren and stimpy reboot especially since this is a leaked episode and the whole show hasn't been officially released.


I guess I'm just trying to find the positives...the silver lining in every cloud...to not come off as a jaded whiny jackal who's always got a cloud over head and can't find joy in anything in life anymore.


But there's always a limit to how far finding the positives can go sometimes its better to gulp down the ugly truth...crap is crap and aside maybe that August 11th 1991 joke in the second segment ren and stimpy 202x has two things going for it; jack and shit and jack left town.



And even then the only merit to being reminded of the day ren and stimpy were "born" for lack of a better term. Is to remember those days of future past long gone by...the days that are miles behind us. Like a Phoenix endsong.

I've been trying to make a thread on him on and a few other voice actors now for a while because they have been up to douche baggy of the highest count in Helldivers 2. I would love to do this but trying to get more info seems imposable at this point.*sigh*

I know this is from a few pages ago but I just watched this and it was worth every single second.
All you need to know is that Larry got them to render nude pinups of Lady X for him and made some poor woman clear up his dog's diarrhea.

Also, if you do one thing tonight: Check out the workprint of Foodfight.
It switches from good (outsourced) 3d to well drawn storyboards to badly photoshopped GBA cutscenes.

So Pete Williams keeps at it to make his Undergrads film. I hope he can pull it off because wow he just really loves his creation.
This is a pretty interesting video on using 3D Graphics to fake 2D Animation. I know it's nothing groundbreaking but Pete does a good job explaining the process.

What can I say about it that hasn't already been said? The intro song is horrible. They clearly tried but they don't have the talent of the original cartoon which was lightning in a bottle.

"young and fresh humor" is gay though. Half the time it's internet memes displayed in the most cringiest way possible. Hell, spouting memes IRL or outside the internet is cringe in itself at times. The other times it's nonsensical screaming and unnecessary drama + political sperging.

I'd rather leave it to the "old white men" that actually know wtf they are doing.

Welp, that's all I needed to hear. At least Beavis & Butthead and Aqua Teen both continued their respective run with original writers that still haven't run out of steam as of yet. It's shit such as this and the current Animaniacs and Futurama reboots that are just full of nepotistic millennials/zoomers that pretend to act as if they are creative

I saw the leak for the new Ren and Stimpy, only the Hell episode as I'd rather not watch the other one.

It was just not very good, and didn't have the edge the original had. Hell their version of the Devil was neither funny or menacing. Ren also is given a title of torturer yet there are no creative or funny torture sequences which the old Ren and Stimpy would take advantage of, instead its just Ren whipping people while Stimpy begs Ren to come to Heaven.

Then Ren for some fucking reason cares for Stimpy and immediately saves him instead of torturing him, while the ending implies some sort of continuity when the show was very episodic.

From the female, or rather "female" creator of The People's Joker. An attempt at a joke, I suppose, though what posting a clip from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure OVAs (I think) is supposed to be funny? This makes me think Vera Drew was one of the writers who spoke with open disdain to Bill Wray. Imagine contributing to the likes of Ren & Stimpy, Mad Magazine, Samauri Jack and many more only to be told, sneeringly, you were an outmoded “old man” whose input was not needed on a project based on something you made major contributions to the original version of. Being told that by some "chick" responsible for the worst DC fan film ever made, one of a group of writers with no care for the original series they were brought on to reboot, who have no passion or interest in producing animation and were only looking for a famous IP to work on for their resumes.
