Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Are you kidding me?! That's the best part!
Maybe but only in a meta sense. Plus it just got so damn repeative as the years dragged on, and they never made any new funny jokes about him just "oh he's fat, orange, a gross creepy old perv." Yeah thats all a good chunk of the lolcows we document here on the farms. And just like said lolcows the same jokes over and over again become dull and tiresome....even if you don't like said lolcow.

Uh ffs Alex you had your prime when you first created gravity falls but then you danna went off the deep end post 2017 and now I really hope Disney denies him a gf reboot. Leave well enough along for lack of a better term.

That's also why I'm kinda hoping trump doesn't get re-elected. As bad as the Biden years have been, I don't think I could stand the media going tds crazy again because "oh no! why orange man back in office and not jail!"

I see two groups of brain dead idiots who can't think for themselves here...one are the hicks in maga hats the other is the Berkey dropouts diversity hired by the family guy staff to write this crap.
I still remember the years in comment section, from 2015-2020 roughly where there was always some proto-TDS sufferer that would talk about the "orange man bad" and the problem is me being too quiet, otherwise I'd just tell the fucker to STFU. Getting that again would be indeed a pain in the ass, but for other reasons.

Thread Tax:
Could Hirsch pull off another season, considering all the other "CalArts" slop that came through ever since Gravity Falls aired? And another question for others here: I only glanced over the cartoon and I'm planning to watch. Is it a good cartoon, considering the "quality" of cartoons from 2010s?

If you mean the original gravity falls then yeah it's a prime example of why cartoons actually had a lot of promise and potential from 2010 to around 2015 maybe 2016 or 17 of you wanna stretch to the first year trump was in office.

Gravity falls started and showed a lot of promise it was a cabarets esq show yeah but at the time the style wasn't as infamous as it is now and creators still did SOME unique things with it. It was also one of the first serialized shows in western animation but again this was before that became a hindrance and people knew how to use it.

The show and the people behind it from Alex to danna and so on..they all HAD potential at one time, shows they later made HAD potential at first but tds and the ever increasing desire to buse dei numbers amd woke messages stripped them of whatever potential they had. As it became one big rush to be just as or in some cases more relentlessly preachy Tham the last show just to show you were a good person and not a racist transphobe like orange man and his followers.

(was a bit difficult to make it out, don't worry, English isn't my first language either, I hope you don't mind this video)

In all seriousness, I get the idea, The Amazing World of Gumball & Gravity Falls came out in 2011 and 2012 respectively. And there's a video from EZ PZ towards the less savoury workplace in the industry:
(16:40 to Alex Hirsch's part).

I think someone mentioned either earlier in this thread or in the cartoon industry thread that EZ PZ's source was that one pearl fag who made a bunch of "straight shota" comics. But even if that's true i could see some of those rumors being probably true (maybe not the part about Alex Hirsch shitting on a garbage can to)

It's never been proven, but given how much of a sperg he is on twitter Luke Webber is one of the most likely people who could be the source. The issue is that he only worked on one episode of Steven Universe before leaving (or getting fired, not sure which) so his insight into the team is based on very early days.

Yeah and as I mentioned once, wouldn't be ironic then Alex Hirsch have the same kind of hidden skeletons then Chris Savino or even John K. have in his closet?

I enjoyed watching this, but a part of me is saying is why the fuck is the voice acting in japanese? If I wanted to hear and watch jap stuff I'd go to japanese produced anime. Is the animator asian? Am I having a japanese fatigue with non-asian animation?
:shit-eating:
The idea is that it is some old series found and subbed, you can see how the subtitles are yellow and square just like the Subs from the vhs days and jokes like the darkgod87 rant about people sharing their work.

The subtitles are just another layer for this intent

Ah, that was the Second episode. This is the pilot

I think they'd be hesitant to do adulthood, my suspicion is some sort of 2 year gap before bringing the characters back to the Falls. Which would work terribly so I have to expect that will be the decision if this is attempted.

The desire will be to have all the old characters back which necessitates a fairly short time gap. If forced to do it myself I'd say do it at another location and accept you lose the majority of the old characters.

They'll probably try to cram Trump in, even if bringing in wider politics is a bad idea.
I fucking loved Gravity Falls back in the day, but what would they do now? They already solved the major mysteries like Ford and the portal and shit, and defeated Bill, where would they go from there? I wouldn't mind them doing some sort of slice of life, as long as they don't go the Steven Universe Future route and go "Ummm, askchually, all the fun adventures the cast went through physically and mentally traumatized them and they totally just want a boring normal life!"

Also I REALLY doubt they'd do a single thing with Trump, I don't recall it ever being that kind of series.

I could see a Trump stand-in if they don't directly mention him, Alex has total TDS and shows that aren't "that kind of series" seem to make exceptions for the mean Orange Man. Remember that the series ended early 2016, so they didn't have much time to do anything with Trump.

Let's see if Alex really want to nuke the fridge with Orange Man who btw, is much less bothering than the son of "creepy uncle Joe Brandon"

It's amazing how all it took to resurrect Looney Tunes was to tell the late 40s onward material to fuck off and learn off the late 30s to mid 40s material, this is the first time in decades where Daffy's actually followed his own name instead of being a cynical ass.
