Tbf that's the main issue with modern day Superheros. Either it's a fresh start between the hero and his friends/enemies, or a decade long clusterfuck of lore and retcons. When it's a show for children having the latter is insane.
The studio politics play a huge factor into this. Hard to really explore new avenues when the various departments are at war with one another and are clearly meddling with a project.
This is why I stopped going to movies regularly.

Now that you mention it, I’ve recently seen a lot of discourse about the Owl House’s protagonist, and shills are getting mad about dissenters saying that Luz makes a pretty bad first impression (being mad about getting signed up for a behavior therapy camp after bringing fireworks and live snakes to school). I haven’t watched the show, but I’ve heard she’s a pretty static character. So the haters might have a point.
Looks like the 3D animation they use in ads for stuff like mobile plans.
