can someone who knows nothing about homestuck give their opinion on this?
I'm curious what someone who doesn't know what the fuck is going on thinks

I don't know anything about Homestuck (or Vivziepop for that matter) but I watched it out of curiosity. Narrative-wise. it's really lacking. I have no idea who the characters are (besides their names), what their motivations are, what the setting is, or why I should care about any of it. It reads more like an 11 minute trailer rather than a pilot episode, and even then it's more like a vague teaser trailer than an actual theatrical trailer that gives you any idea of what to expect. It doesn't give a viewer who isn't already informed about the franchise any reason to get invested in my opinion.

As someone who knows but also don't doesn't know what the premise is: it feels like G.R.I.D.S., yet an audio-visual form of it.

Toby Fox sounds as gay as I imagined he would. Dave sounds like a generic faggot. Rose has a deeper voice than both of the cock mongrels, and my wife thought Jade was voiced by Mabel from Gravity Falls.

I hate everything this Vivziepop nigger shits out so, so much. The characters are always the same looking garbage every time.

It feels like the target audience is for children but because the setting takes place almost 20 years ago it feels like it's actually for autistic millenials.

Looks cool and I hate saying this but if I have to be realistic there isn't much of a place for high production grade animation cinema in the west anymore unless its very clearly kid demographic content no? At least no popular animated movie released in the past 5 years has convinced me otherwise. Its gotten a lot of social media push but I see that in a similar vein to the Coyote vs ACME deal where more people like the idea of that kind of movie getting released than people who would actually go see it (and make the studio money).

Would be nice to be proven wrong though. The snippet released looked quite good

It really is so goddamn boring, fanfics written spend more time and effort to set up plot and characters lol.

I know it's taken from a pre-existing medium but at least have some tact and introduce the concept for a wider audience. The writing and even animation is just boring and not interesting at all.

Also it leans heavily into an Invader Zim aesthetic, especially the ending credits. Not surprised that I saw Richard Horovitz being the voice director for this tbh.

I don't know why, but I always thought Dave would sound like a dude bro, but instead they both sound exactly how you'd think they should sound in order to make all the old Tumblr fan art canonical. I'm saying they sound gay for each other.

In my defense, you can probably see how I managed to misremember that considering everything else that was floating around out there. I had a hard time keeping up with everything. The last thing I vaguely remember seeing before I checked out was I think Gamzee discovered what juggalos were and went on a homicidal rampage and that one possibly lesbian troll became a rainbow drinker or something? It felt like I'd been reading forever at that point, but I get the impression I fell out relatively early because I don't even know when or why the parents and Dave's brother became kids or whatever.
