Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

It really is. The opposite of having your dad tell you to stop watching cartoons at 14.
I say this being someone who had my fair share of media, yet by the time I was 18 I stopped caring about cartoons, and 26 when I simply stopped caring about "stories for grown ups". It's not so much a "I must stop", but rather new things in life made me change the focus.

It is possible, you just got to put your mind and be professional. Yet "adultescents" and "wo/menchildren" simply just think there is a "hidden magic you can appreciate". No man, no.

The Last Unicorn was produced in America but was animated by a Japanese studio. So does it qualify as Western animation or not?

Most American cartoons are animated overseas in Asian countries, some parts of Europe, Canada and so on. That's simply just outsourcing. I'd say it depends on where the writing, storyboarding, original voice acting and intended initial audience comes from.

Though, I keep reading that The Last Unicorn was a collaboration between multiple countries, including the US, the UK and Japan.

I suppose the UK backing was because of Lew Grade's ITC who distributed the film originally.

First, CN's catalog as well as Kids WB's catalog will finally be fully available on Netflix along with every WB cartoon that came before them, without any of Zaslav's scheming maneuvers that involves pulling any shows from streaming or tax write-offs.
Sopranos, The Wire, NYPD Blue, and Curb Your Enthusiasm are definitely added bonuses with these.
Second, ZASLAV IS FINALLY FUCKING GONE!

BUT, before anyone rejoices at the ultimate Jew finally not ruining CN and any other property he had his greedy grubby hands on, this could possibly mean the final end of Cartoon Network in this total blockbuster deal with how Netflix operates (and in that case, say goodbye to all of CN's planned revivals meant to be the brand's last gasp to survive and stay relevant unless Netflix picks them all up), unless regulators and DOJ antitrust opposition interfere, which would be probably unlikely.

Also, without a single doubt in my mind, or in this case, all of us, fully expect HBO Max to be folded within the next year or two.

If this all goes through, brace yourselves, gentlemen. This is going to be one wild ride within the next year.

Has anything really changed if this happens? They both make the same kind of slop, and for animation fans the same issues keep happening, we’ll either get The Writer’s poorly disguised Super Therapy Funtime/wish fulfillment, Poorly Disguised Pedo Fuel ala Bigmouth, or something that’s somewhat decent that gets canceled because, shocker, the normies didn’t watch it.

Can these fucking companies stop buying each other out as if they are trying to win the race of who has the most Monopoly over fucking everything that's ever existed in the entire planet?

Littlekuriboh and butt buddies trying to get smiling friends canceled again last month. This is a reminder that the final episode of "Smiling Friends" may contain a joke suggesting that they are mocking LittleKuriboh for attempting to have them canceled over the course of several months on Bluesky.

Look at that. The people that need to leech off the work of others and can’t create things of their own, are trying to get an actually funny and original show canceled. I swear these people have a bucket and crab mentality. They are offended by the most obvious joke you can make for an anime convention. Then again what else can you expect from this certain group of people. You know who i’m talking about.

Got this recommended, probably because i like horror+animation combo.

>Furry tumblr art style, the edgy tranny kind
>Shitty arg found footage larp
>christianity is scary and evil mmm'kay?
>cults and demons as bad guys for your retro analogue horror series? Woah, never seen that one before
>Most of the video is just static images with barely any animation shown
>The bits of animation are very janky and low effort (even if it's a pilot concept, don't you, a self-proclaimed animation studio, wanna try and make your animation presentable?)

100 troondella cuntalogues out of 10, Wishbone Animation. Well done!

Admittedly, the trailer does capture the essence of classic horror films quite well in parts, particularly with its dramatic lighting and use of colours. From what I gathered from the plot, aside from the soulless analogue "horror" crap, it may be inspired by something decent, like Twin Peaks (the mystery box girl around which the plot centres) and The Blair Witch Project (the forest setting, action takes during halloween weekend, found documentary footage, and the protagonists are shown interviewing the locals for information).

With proper talent and skill, this could be something actually really good. But we all known how these people fuck up their own good ideas by chasing after fandom head pats and their fetishes.

The QnA section is closed, but I am 100% sure it has some talk about representation in it. Bonus point if the dog in a skirt is a tranny.
