This is the most retarded review for a direct to dvd movie I've ever seen on my recommended on YouTube. Also fuck I haven't heard anything about this movie in years.
Part of this is him going "song of the south is racist waaa," then when he wants to talk somewhat bad about the south he uses his possum character to do that.
 
Yeah no, Hoppers was trash and that's it.

Well, at least it might've gave some attention to this forgotten piece of straight-to-video eye candy from 20 years back, that's the least racist thing ever adapted from those stories, given the celeb voices they went with.

I had this when I was probably 4 maybe 5, and I liked it as a kid, honestly looking back now and knowing that this was made by universal 1440 and the universal cartoon studio division I'm pleasantly surprised by how good the animation is, authough granted it was made by ex disney tv animation and warner animation studio people so that's surprising. Same with the voice cast too, you've got a post drumline/pre agt nick cannon, wanda sykes (before she went all woke and retarded), Danny Glover, Phil Lamarr and Debra Wilson (who plays the buzzard, oh how funny this is nowadays considering shes bald)

They never listed a budget for this but I'm going to assume they maybe used $5 million if we consider the cast and the animation budget.
Now if there were more movies like this one that were well animated, had a good cast, and didn't need to pander to racial politics to be a black animated movie.... then yeah, I'd be completely fine with this, but alas this will never happen and besides that most of the cast sold their souls to the shitlib mind trust. (wanda, phil, and debra especially so)

I still think its ironic disney scrubbed everything from a franchise ultimately based in real african/early african american folklore and keeps swapping it with shit almost completely based on white western stories with a shallow layer of black paint and culture slapped on

Kinda late but GKids has acquired the entirety of Italian animator Bruno Bozzetto's catalog of work and is planning on restoring and rereleasing a lot of it. A trailer for their release of his Fantasia parody Allegro non Troppo was put out and it seemingly got a theatrical release in New York.

Here's hoping it gets screened elsewhere as I remember enjoying it a lot when I first saw it ages ago.

Yeah, no, while I don't care for the new Super Mario film that much, this post is a false equivalency. The movies showcased in this post were made without care. Wreck-It Ralph 2 flanderized the main characters and contradicted the rules of the first film for no reason. The Disney live-action remakes are cynically made to make a quick buck while also changing the meaning and lessons from the original animated films. Wish is also a corporate cynicle cashgrab that added nothing of value, made the Majician character the main villain because the main female protagonist wouldn't just do her job, and lastly, Toy Story 4 also didn't add anything to the Toy Story series and needlessly brought back characters (Bo Peep) and flanderzied them.

I dunno, the argument of "it's a kids movie" does seem vanish when it's something people don't like.
