I can agree with this. For every time I go to the theatres and watch a movie, it always feels like it goes on for literal ever.Even animated films are longer than they used to be.
You know we’re in a fucked timeline when Space Jam of all things gets a two hour long sequel. Wonder if it would have been shorter if they cut out all the gratuitous cameos.I've been going through random Looney Tunes shorts because of Space Jam 2 coming out and I forgot just how entertaining they were. The most impressive part about them to me is that most of them never overstay their welcome. They're paced perfectly to tell the story they want in 6 - 10 minutes. Meanwhile Space Jam 2 is 2 hours long.
I think I know what they’re going for; they want the “alas, poor scrappy” moment. The show wants to rehabilitate an unpopular character and then send them in a big heroic sacrifice. This leads to a bigger emotional impact compared to if they were just still annoying while also completely redeeming them in the eyes of fans.
Agreed. They're such poorly told and badly paced stories that anything more than an hour runtime feels like pushing it.Even animated films are longer than they used to be.
What’s even the point though? You’d think they’d WANT shorter movies - they presumably take less money to make (less shots, less editing, less VFX by 25%) and are more tolerable to the audience, but you still charge the same amount for a 90 minute movie and you can squeeze in more showings per day. This trend toward longer movies whose premises REALLY don’t justify the length actually baffles me because I fail to see what studios get out of this.I can agree with this. I mean they are shorts. There's no continuing story, long term stakes or similar. You still see the odd Pixar shorts or the ones they made for the various Disney shorts in between seasons which tend to be a similar sort of length. Cartoon episodes at least as with shorts remain a similar length, 20 ish minutes.I've been going through random Looney Tunes shorts because of Space Jam 2 coming out and I forgot just how entertaining they were. Back then they more or less had karma system of sorts (before Ren and Stimpy ruined this) and pacing down, no overly long grandiose stories or worlds or expanded universes to setup.I've been going through random Looney Tunes shorts because of Space Jam 2 coming out and I forgot just how entertaining they were. There's probably a science graph in an office building somewhere that shows how 2 hours is the perfect runtime, and to challenge it would mean to challenge said science experiment that cost whatever studio a bundle of money. Its why every things orange and blue, lens flares, and bass drops. This trend toward longer movies whose premises REALLY don’t justify the length actually baffles me because I fail to see what studios get out of this.
What do you mean by this?Back then they more or less had karma system of sorts (before Ren and Stimpy ruined this)
Hunter trying to shoot rabbit and duck trying to get hunter to shoot rabbit instead of him = rabbit outsmarts hunter/duck so that the duck gets shot by the hunterWhat do you mean by this?
Might be the difference between something being merely chaotic (Courage) and something being meanspirited in the actual sense of the word (CatDog). Unless I'm just misreading things in which case uh oh spaghettios.Hunter trying to shoot rabbit and duck trying to get hunter to shoot rabbit instead of him = rabbit outsmarts hunter/duck so that the duck gets shot by the hunter
Cat tries to eat mouse = mouse abuses cat with various household appliances
Coyote tries to eat roadrunner = the gadgets that he purchases to achieve said goal end up backfiring on him in some waay, shape or fashion
I think that's what @Dark Emporer Dood meant by a "karma system". I believe that R&S ruined it by
Cat being stupid and chihuahua being smart = chihuahua being abused because of stupid thing that cat did. It has to be justified in some way, shape, or fashion, and in DED's eyes, Ren's abuse isn't justified most of the time. Correct me if I'm wrong, @Dark Emporer Dood.
Ren is pretty much an abusive shithead even when Stimpy isn't doing anything stupid and is being well intentioned. He deserves whatever shit comes his way.Cat being stupid and chihuahua being smart = chihuahua being abused because of stupid thing that cat did. Oh fuck no. Injustice is a tolerable setting for a video game, a movie for it will be worse than the comics which may be one of the worst things under the DC label.Animated INJUSTICE!..... but with none of the original game voice actors.
Im sure it will be good, but come on guys, its not gonna have the same impact.

Were the comics that bad?Oh fuck no. Injustice is a tolerable setting for a video game, a movie for it will be worse than the comics which may be one of the worst things under the DC label.
If you never read any work by DC they are aggressively average. Were the comics that bad?
It's a pretty okay series. I rate it alongside Roswell Conspiracies for creativity even if that series had the more amusing coverups due to their lack of neuralisers. Decent comedy, messages targeted at children delivered well and clearly.saw this in my recommended on youtube and almost forgot this show existed
You have to love those Everett Peck designs.saw this in my recommended on youtube and almost forgot this show existed (assuming the video links are working again)
two things notable about the MiB animated series, it was animated by the same team who made extreme Ghostbusters (hence why they look so similar design wise) two It was very influential for good and bad on the 2002 sequel MiB II. You see it in things like the worm guys and frank being more than comic relief, K being an agent again, and so on.
