What ad-blocker browser extensions currently work to block Youtube ads?

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Is brave browser fast? I only use chrome, the ad-block works okay, but it slows down my youtube significantly
google makes every browser slower for a couple seconds on youtbue especially if you have an adblocker, because they want you to use chrome with the 3.0 manifesto. i personally dont feel it, so yeah, download brave browser NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

The last few times they've pushed a change it's made it so uBlock/Firefox still blocks ads, but there's some script I have to allow or else the video stops and throws an error after a minute or so. I allow scripts in one tab rather than figure it out (very lazy) and eventually it goes away.

Do they put ads in the middle of fucking music videos?

Brave's doing fine, as usual.

on edge I enabled 'allow custom filters requiring trust' and added this to Ublock Origin. started getting the popup yesterday. Havent gotten it since:

youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false)

youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0)

youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, [])

youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)

For Chrome you can use uBlock Origin Lite which is the pozzed version for Manifest V3 (make sure you set the blocking mode to complete and allow it permission to mess with all web pages)
At the moment uBO Lite doesn't block Youtube's nagging-message overlay, but I guess we are playing whack-a-mole again and the blocklist might get updated later.

uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger seems to work across multiple browsers
Works for me ™️ flawlessly on FF, had the "You are using an adblocker" bullshit pop up once yesterday but could just click it away and watch the video without ads. Didn't pop up again either. On phone i just use Brave and have never had problems with ads or warnings on YT.

I'm old and stupid and just saw my first "adblocker" notice on youtube using an older chromebook with Brave Browser.
Would it help if I removed Brave and re-downloaded?
try it. do you also have ublock origin installed as a browser extension?

Thank You for the reply.
No, I just have Brave on a Chromebook that the "kids" got me when my real computer croaked. I don't think it would have enough power to run more additions and as I said- old and stupid.
(I had a functional brain once upon a time)
download it here: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm

if that fails, and you have some time on your hands, i would recommend switching from chrome OS to linux. because google.
