What are some of your "warning sign" bands? - When you hear someone says they like X band then it's time to ask for the check.

Sorry, yes.
Oh well that's too bad. I'm more forgiving of older theater productions (I would say pre-20th century) because it seems like it was something straight men could still make and be part of. Or maybe I'm wrong and stereotype of obnoxious theater faggot already existed way way back.

I like TMBG (because my lame whiny parents did) but they are 100% the whiniest "quirkiest" liberals on the planet.
I remember one of their wives talking in an interview about how proud she was to smoke while pregnant. Just the stupidest shit.

Also - haven't seen a single knock at New Wave ITT. Does that mean it's universally respected or does it's flag just come with six extra colours?

Bad Religion. :neckbeard:
If a person says this is their favorite band they are insufferable and will try to proselytize you to atheism. I’m an atheist myself but I think it’s dumb to try to convert believers.
Bad Religion isn't even reasonable atheism. Bad Religion is kiked up clownery pretending to be atheist, but deep down it's the same subversive tikkun olam shit that comes out of the synagogues and banks.

Skrillex is my big "warning sign" artist. No one's into Skrillex because he makes "great" music. They're into him because he was marketed at them first. He is the epitome of the pop star, and his guitar-music background emphasizes that.

I guess I'm a bit of a red flag though. Dream Theater's Train of Thought album was fantastic, though the rest of their stuff is too pretentious and mid. And I'm a late 30s Steely Dan fan too; but their market niche seems to be folks who have made a living with music. Their production values are astronomical, and their lyrics are too clever and mature to really appeal to younger folks. Korn's first two albums were really good, then they sold out.

Bad Religion is just lefty sperging like most other punk acts, but their identity of pretending to act as if they are an atheist band when the members aren't even honest about their actual religion. Believe what you want to believe, and if you are Jewish or an atheist, that's not my concern, but to have them writing songs by politically and religiously sperging with their incoherent unintelligible gibberish is just absolute retardation.

Which is a shame because underneath the bottom of the barrel from their dumbass lyrics, they're still very talented, the band's drummer and two guitarists are both great. Oh well, I guess this is what happens when I get blinded by nostalgia from a classic Sega game by looking up the artists' names

The only time Bad Religion were ever rebellious or controversial was when they released Into the Void.

ToT is definitely my favorite, too, though I also have a soft spot for SysChaos, Awake, Metropolis 2, and about half of Octavarium and I&W.

I am never listening to anything else from the Offspring unless it plays on the radio.
