What are some truly good things that Kiwi Farms has done? - Not a trolling thread

Holding the crowd that preaches about holding people "accountable" online to that same standard of accountability through archives and evidence, and simultaneously proving that those same cancel-happy "accountability" preachers don't like being held accountable themselves.

QRT spam and ceaseless accusations for thee, but no archived evidence for me.

Definitely the zoosadist and Yaniv events. On a personal level, it gave me a community when I was in a time of life that forced me to be homebound - I literally didn’t touch grass - and was quite lonely.

Some of us, probably most users, are in circumstances where we can’t speak our minds IRL because of job security or professional reputation. All of that due to simple opinions like “men are not women.”

When Chris Chan's house burned down the forum came together and donated money for a care package. Chris is now a vile motherfucker but he was just an innocent retard back then.

There was also the work the forum put in to help get Nick Bate put away.

I'd say Trans Lifeline is a good example too, if the farms wasn't so persistent in uncovering all the embezzlement by those two ogres those it would have shut down much earlier than it was.

When it comes to news and world events, KF is my immediate go-to place. There is not a site out there that is more dedicated to immortalizing the raw information that pours out onto social media in the wake of something major. Kiwifarms has kept journalists and glowies more accountable than ever. Shooters get doxed immediately, photos and posts out of war zones on all sides are given a resting place without one side being suppressed to make the other look good. You can't go anywhere else for unbiased reporting.

We helped to advance democracy in Cuba.

Kiwifarms users identified that one of the Zoosadists, Rubén Marrero Pernas (who went under the alias "Woof"), lived in Cuba. One user reached out to a Cuban animal welfare organization (CEDA) to warn them about Woof. CEDA identified that this man had adopted a puppy from them which was seen being abused in the Zoosadism leaks. This evidence was used to get the Cuban police to arrest him and search his property, finding evidence of Woof's crimes and rescuing two puppies (Clearnet(.hk)|Tor).

Unfortunately, Woof was released with no charges because Cuba did not have an animal rights law. Cubans were outraged and publicly demanded that the government adopt animal welfare laws. There had been draft legislation for animal welfare since 1988 but it never got anywhere (Clearnet(.hk)|Tor). The campaign for the animal welfare law led to a 500 person march in Havana, the first independent and non-political demonstration authorized by the Cuban government. The animal welfare law was adopted in February, 2021, allowing for animal abusers to be prosecuted. It also was the first time a citizen-backed law was adopted by Cuba, normalize democratic practices that many of us in the world take as commonplace (Clearnet(.hk)|Tor).

Kiwifarms was essential in identifying this criminal and in doing so, galvanized the Cuban people to advocate and pass a democratically demanded law.

We helped stop a scummy, abusive piece of shit from defrauding his abused ex-wife and (most importantly) his small daughter.

Lowtax had planned on going on The Dick Show with a heavily edited recording he secretly made of Logan (whom he cheated on his then-wife with), edited and cherry picked to make it sound like she admitted to making up her claims that he'd abused her.

We got ahold of the full, unedited audio that showed him clearly manipulating a mentally ill, barely coherent girl young enough to be his daughter and was leading her by the nose through the conversation. Gaslighting is an extremely overused term, but his behavior was a textbook case of it. We then released this audio -- scooping everyone else in the shitpostosphere, btw -- and it absolutely wrecked the narrative he had been planning on building. I have it on good authority (someone close to him who was talking to him throughout all this) that he was equal parts livid, panicked and devastated that this happened.

His life was already in a death (no pun intended) spiral at this point, but denying him his last hope for an optics win no doubt contributed to him shooting himself in the head, which prevented him from any further intentional pissing away of his funds so as to deny them to his ex-wife and small child.

Kiwifarms has provided me with my Most Favorite Ever On Line Commuinty, full of nothing but FRIENDLY, accepting, funny, extremely Physically Attractive and Interesting Beautiful peoplpe, best-possible-moral-compass-equipped, Cat-and-Nword-enjoying, intelligent, HIGHLY CULTUIRED Individuals that you can't fi8nd any were else online the internet. Kiwifarms has provided me a with a place to talk about, display, showcase and otherwise present my beloved cats.

Helped expose Ashton "Aimee" Challenor, a prominent Reddit moderator and a spokesman for multiple UK political parties and charities over the years who employed his rapist pedophile dad as his campaign manager and also had various other suspicious connections to known pedophiles. Kiwi Farms even appears in a positive light as a source exposing this individual in a documentary produced a few years ago, probably the only positive media depiction of KF I know of. Skip to 17:45 to see Ashton's thread appear on screen.

Some of the best and most varied recommendations for books, games, movies, etc on the net. There's no hivemind so you get to hear about some interesting stuff.

Personally it's a great relief with basically all the rest of the internet being garbage. You can actually talk about shit here, like any interest or hobby, and don't have to walk on eggshells about stupid shit like pronouns or race or whatever. It's comfy.

Here are some themes we could develop. I'll try to come back and work on them later, but I thought it would be useful to post an outline now.

  1. Who uses KiwiFarms?
    1. KF has a strong culture of privacy, but we know a few things about the users.
    2. Most conversations are in English, but the international forum has at least 10 languages. (Maybe @Null could mine the logs and tell us how many countries visit KF?)
    3. Wide variety of political and philosophical beliefs. We have safe threads where people on one side or another can talk to like-minded individuals, but we also have vigorous debate.
    4. Privacy-focused culture puts ideas first, not people. This also prevents the bullying and stalking that occurs on other platforms. KF is one of the safest places on the internet.
    5. I don't want to put anyone and risk of doxing, but we could mention some professions we know are represented here?
    6. There was a political poll, do we have other demographic data? Do we want it?
  2. Is everyone welcome on KF?
    1. Like most communities, KF has developed a culture, or several distinct cultures that overlap or bump into each other. Some people fit in naturally, others take a bit of work.
    2. But the people who don't fit in naturally are still welcome. It's the ideas and discussion that matter. Everyone can participate.
    3. Except pedophiles/anyone promoting violence or harassment.
  3. Is KiwiFarms a good internet citizen?
    1. Foreign governments and private lawyers/organizations have occasionally tried to get user information from KF. These requests are without legal force in the United States and KF does not provide its users' data to these entities.
    2. KF is incorporated in the US and replies promptly to legal requests from American law enforcement. This has assisted in (...). (Need to research Take That Off for this.)
    3. Unlike social media sites, where people promote "brigading" or "trolling" other users' pages with impunity, KF does not permit harassment campaigns and will warn or ban a user for trying to start one.
  4. Has KiwiFarms made the world a better place?
    1. Zoosadists defeated.
    2. Support threads?
    3. ???
    4. The friends we made along the way.
  5. But what about all the bad things? (Mentioning these might be more harmful than helpful, but they will come up eventually so a reply is needed.)
    1. Don't you harass Chris-chan? No, an early version of the site was created to talk about him in more innocent days and there is still some discussion, but there was never any harassment. That came from other people. KF doesn't interact with them and has always condemned their harassment, while preserving evidence of it in case authorities ever take it seriously (they have not). (Something about Null trying to help Chris-chan before the Incest Saga?)
    2. Don't you harass trans persons into killing themselves? No, KF does not harass trans persons. Trans person X killed themselves because of Y. This was unfortunate and society must do better to help people experiencing Y, but it didn't happen because of the forums.
    3. You harassed Byuu into killing himself! There was a short thread several years ago discussing the internet persona Byuu/Near. Byuu joined and participated in the thread. Everything was cordial. Years later, he contacted Null and suicide-baited him, threatening to kill himself and offering Null an enormous amount of money to delete the thread. This was late at night in Null's time zone so he couldn't respond at length, but he expressed sympathy, rejected the money, and asked Byuu if he'd be interested in working for the forum. There were later questionable, unconfirmed reports that Byuu had killed himself, and the same reports were picked up by or fed to one or two uncritical media outlets. No death certificate or obituary has been located and the Department of State did not report any American citizen suicides in Japan in this time period. (I'm sure there's a better write-up of this already.)
    4. Don't you say the gamer word? Some people use naughty language on the forums. Most don't.
    5. Aren't you Nazis? Some forum users have curious political ideas. Most don't.
    6. I looked at your web site and you all hate each other. Most of that is good-natured banter, though a heated debate will break out from time to time. We disagree about many things and we're not shy about it. But it never escalates beyond that, and disagreement on one point is no reason to dislike an otherwise fine person. A Farmer may call another user a slimy son-of-a-toad on one thread, and leave that same user a positive reaction on another thread.
    7. Aren't you right-wing extremists? Political identity is more complex than right and left, especially on an international forum, but a 2023 poll shows only 23.2% of users identify as authoritarian or conservative. The right wing may well be underrepresented on the Farms.
    8. Aren't you anti-LGBTQ? Some people may be, but in general it's more accurate to say KF users abhor unwanted lewd behavior in public and intrusions into private, gendered spaces for the purpose of sexual arousal. These activities are lamentable no matter the sexual identity and preference of the person engaging in them; most societies recognize them as crimes, irrespective of whether the person is LGBTQ. KF users also tend to be against gaslighting children and vulnerable adults into believing they are trans without proper psychological vetting. Sexual identity is complex and something as consequential as transitioning requires professional evaluation and care.

This, honestly I don't really care about lolcows much save for Chris but obviously that's not worked out too well for anyone involved.

Plus I get to call the "take vaccines for Ukraine" and "be gay for Palestine" people out on their bullshit and not get banned for it, so that's good. Apparently having a different opinion, right OR wrong, is "trolling political threads" and we can't have any of that. Might as well be a static website at that rate.
Doxed dozens of Million Pity animal torturers.

Bullied hundreds of embarrassing faggots into hopefully acquiring an iota of self-awareness.

Protected free speech.
Correct, this site prevented me from becoming a jobless autistic pornography addicted faggot that lives in his parents' basement at the age of 30.
Kiwifarms has provided me with my Most Favorite Ever On Line Community, full of nothing but FRIENDLY, accepting, funny, extremely Physically Attractive and Interesting Beautiful peoplpe, best-possible-moral-compass-equipped, Cat-and-Nword-enjoying, intelligent, HIGHLY CULTUIRED Individuals that you can't fi8nd any were else online the internet. I'm a terminally online incel sperg and I feud with certain members of the community but it's my Internet home, as others would expel me for not sucking their dicks.

It kinda feels like the last bastion of free speech in the world sometimes, but maybe that's just because I'm a misfit in meat space.

I felt pushed out of every other online space before finding the Farms. The laughter the forum provides purely by doccumenting the foleys of others should be enough of a reason for this place to exist, but apparently that's too hard for some people to understand.

I'm just going to echo what others have already said, but Kiwi Farms is as close as it gets to experiencing the pre-pozzed Internet. The forum is a place to freely talk about the things that the rest of the Internet doesn't want to talk about. It's apolitical, doesn't care about your feelings, and has a history of whistleblowing vile pedophiles, abusers, and batshit insane people who wouldn't be held accountable otherwise.

The wider Internet doesn't want to admit it, but Kiwi Farms is a crucial mechanism that allows the Internet to socially operate. Shame is a vital social commodity considering the huge societal focus that pratically everything is deemed as socially acceptable. Kiwi Farms consistently provides this shame when so many others are too afraid to speak up about things just being flatout wrong. Then there's the angle that someone needs to be the archiver for all of the content on the Internet, so it might as well be us.

I came for the lols, but stayed for the community.
