I don't think anyone can fully express how much of a net good the farms is. As dumb as it sounds it's made my life much brighter and impassioned me about freedom of speech. I am beyond thankful for Josh's work in keeping the site up.

The vast majority of users I've had nothing but good experiences with. I think ultimately the best thing the farms has done is to build a large community that simply doesn't exist anywhere else online. In the good old days there were plenty of forums full of great communities that had some form of a bond but most of them are now gone. The Farms gives a place for victims to vent. I’ve seen examples of well-meaning people who’ve been scammed online. The internet is full of low level grifters that will carry on scamming likely til they die, but for the scammees being conned, it can really hit hard.

Despite le ebil reputation, I haven’t seen people who’ve fell foul of grifters get mocked. They’ve been given empathy and compassion, with real life offers of help, including money. Examples that come to mind include in Marissa Davis’ and Lou Gagliardi’s thread and there are loads more.

Don’t underestimate how being scammed can hit. Normies get this - hell, trad newspapers are full of ‘sad face’ pics and older relatives getting ripped off.
