Taking a step back from the genuine moral good stuff like exposing the zoosadists, translifeline, and generally just keeping information about abhorrent individuals accessible, all that stuff is good and all, but I feel it can overshadow the real purpose of this site. To laugh. Those threads are a genuine credit to the site, and I'm glad they exist, but they're often rather joyless, filled more with a very righteous anger. I've had some crazy ups and downs the past few years, but even at some of my lowest moments, I could almost always laugh, even if it was just for a moment, at a rage pig getting his ass beat in portugal because he wanted to take a vacation to "own" another washed up eceleb, or a fat faggot with bitch tits threatening to send his toilet and someone's dog to prison, or the internet's most well-documented man stomp his feet in the middle of a courtroom he's in because he allegedly raped his mommy because he wants his toys delivered to his jail cell, NOW!

If one day, this site actually does go down permanently, my life will go on. But it will be a lot less funny. The internet as a whole will be a lot less funny.

I want to say I am impressed both by Kiwi Farms and Josh and his unwavering commitment to free speech. Not even that, he's taken the fight to them not once, but almost every time. By that, I mean he's making the actions done by the enemies of the internet - public. A lesser man would have caved in to the pressure.
As someone, who's doing this, but on a way smaller and local scale - I can point to the Kiwi Farms as an example that this can be done. Believe it or not, even boomers in the Balkans have heard of the farms, since it has been mentioned on the news.

I hope Josh keeps this up for ever, even if its just to spite people.
Sometimes, reasonable people are forced to do unreasonable things.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the warm reception to one of the lolcows on here, UncleBibby, despite the reputation the Farms has with allegedly killing troons.

I know I latched onto the Farms as a last bastion when places like r/tumblrinaction got decommisioned. It was a place where even other people in the alphabet community dropped by to laugh at the otherkin and early troonery. The Farms are also where, amidst the cries of "nigger" and "faggot", the occasional sensible debate can thrive for a short while.

It was mentioned but yeah the Tenacious Unicorn Ranch thread was good. In-between lots of humor (and disgust), it documented a lot of animal neglect, many fucky abuse stories from former guests, even more questionable inconsistant finances after their GoFundMem, and their weird caste system (indoor vs outdoor troons).

The GFM was based on stories of a mysterious Earl and other Right-Wing Extremists comitting crimes against the ranch and its residents. No proof ever came to light about these alleged crimes even after being donated security cameras and having some journos come out and do pieces about it. What did come to light was satellite imagery showing how badly they fucked up their land (and some surrounding lots) by allowing their insanely large hoard of alpaca overgraze. It also later showed that they dug a very large pit, which aligned with a former resident (Paul/Bonnie) confessing they frequently had to bury alpaca. Tenacious Unicorn Ranch finallt shut down this year, and the majority of alpaca are still unaccounted for. Iirc they had up to 250 at some point, and only wound up taking about 10 to Phil's grandparents' home (please correct if number is off). Otherwise those other ~240 alpaca, and the ducks, have been memoryholed.
