What Are The Worst Character Designs You Have Ever Seen?

Valkyria Chronicles 4 as a whole. Really liked that game, but the more I look at character designs now the more ridiculous they appear

Also, Catboy Anime Werhmart Troopers...

There were actually jokes that Honey was Rapunzel's long-lost sister with how similarly they looked. Her hero costume isn't that bad though, I think taking off those giant nerd glasses really help.

I'm thinking they used two different models for her, actually. Would explain why the hero suit version actually looks more eye-pleasing than the standard one.

Isn't that basically how a lot of models are created in a lot of computer-generated productions, taking a base model and adjusting as needed?
There's using a base model and then there's using the same style in all your other movies because you can't be assed to do anything different. Even Disney in the bad days made every character have their own, unique look. And It also feels like some sort of "fuck you" to Glen Keane, the guy who designed Rapunzel and Ariel.

Unpopular Opinion: I think Warhammer has some of the worst character designs of any major series. Comically cartoonish edgyboi proportions (jumbo feet with tiny ass heads), piss poor color choice, oversized guns so cartoonishly large that they just look stupid and more.

They also put too much conflicting shit into their designs. Oh lets have gold trim, and skulls, and spikes, and scifi shit, and fantasy shit, and ammo, and design motifs that we repeat 12 times in one design, and.... You can only pack so many "ideas" and themes into a design before it buckles under its own weight. The sheer density of some of these designs are so absurd, I can only imagine they were all designed by 10 different artists. Just look at this bullshit:

Where the fuck are you supposed to look? There is literally no silhouette value, no focal points, its just a big jumbled overdesigned mess. Even designs that I somewhat like such as the Sisters of Battle would be infinitely better with some simplification and modification to really showcase the decent shape work underneath this overly ornate shit. But again they just sperg out with the "more details = better" school of design.

One of their most famous art pieces has all the above issue that I stated previously in spades:

What perplexes me is, I think the art could be significantly improved with just simplifying some elements to make it more readable, but Warhammer fans are so violently protective of their property that any sort of criticism is almost always cast aside in favor of unthinking traditionalism.

Movie Garfield is nothing compared to this bizarre redesign.

If I Photoshopped out the vertical line on their faces they would just be three midgets dressed up as Alvin and the Chipmunks instead of actually Alvin and the Chipmunks. They could've at least made them brown and furry. But I guess it's what today's kids like so I'm just an old fart that prefers the 80's design, I suppose.
Dave gotten bitten by a radioactive chipmunk then fucked their mother and no one's gonna tell me otherwise.

You aren't wrong but the overdesign is, by this point, a part of the identity of the series. Also, I remember one of the criticisms of the Primaris was them being too slick and not as interesting.

Personally I kinda like this larger than life design and it's at least slightly justified when everyone is wearing power armour so the extra bling doesn't have that much effect.

yeah I was under the impression that much of the point of the aesthetics of Warhammer (and 40k) was "superbusy heavy metal album cover" as an intentional choice

I'm still not sure if Zoids Wild's designs are brilliant or shit.
The people bitching about it don't even understand it. They are based off of the wild Zoids from the lore, Zoids are living breathing creatures that evolved over time. But of course, humans came in and started doing all sorts of experiments on them. Including taking out their cores and putting them in new bodies. The cockpits were completely human made. Look up the website called the Iron Bible. It's the ultimate go to Zoids information website.

I think it compliments the ridiculousness and other over the top aspects of Warhammer pretty well, that's why it gets a pass.

You don't expect creatures in Warhammer to be logical and well thought out.

What the fuck happened?! 3 had Vyse Inglebard and he looked badass.
I really wish Japan would tone down the anime aesthetics for fucking once. Yakuza and Dark Souls came from Japan and they were not mega-weeb in terms of art direction, so this is no excuse.

Pretty weird considering Clark isn’t f*cking Batman.

Fans attempted to rationalize it; like it was supposed to indicate his death at the hands of Doomsday. And not a continual blue balls exercise at teasing "Superman", with cape and all.

Same shit, different show:

God, yet another preachy as hell show from the literal beginning, in the intro, and into the show. Just human bad narrative immediately. What really gets me from these nihilist writers is every time, they act like other species wouldn't end up making the same mistakes at first. Especially not a giant bug race this show starts with. Really? You're supposed to expect them to not eat everything starting out then try to backpedal?
