What Are The Worst Character Designs You Have Ever Seen?

Shis from Utawarerumono isn't outright bad, but always gives me the sense she's going to trip over her half(?) skirt every step she takes, as well as seemingly an almost inverted clothing besides the leotard.

I can not edit that one for some reason, but I wanted to clarify that few of the creatures are quite cute...but seems "evil" forms started as power-ups in general, and most "good" forms that never ended in anime are of that "spare change given to a kid"-quality I mentioned:

Just put the entire Genshin character design because it looks like a F2P copycat version of Ys and Tales Of game series combined.

While you can argue a lot about Genshin, it's one of the most phenomenally designed character art in recent years. Almost every character is recognizable by what they wear and it's almost never too ridiculous like a lot of Gacha games get.

Splatoon 1 and 2's idols were pretty good for the most part, but 3's new idols are down right laughably bad

I don't think its her head that's problem, her eyes are way too low so it makes her forehead look gigantic compared to her lower face.

For what I have read (though I do not believe it has been made official), Frye's design is meant to be based on Indian culture, because big foreheads are seen there as a sign of wisdom and high intelligence in that culture. Supposedly she is also meant to look like a vampire squid, hence why her fangs are so visible.

It is not rare for idols/performers in Splatoon to be donusteels, as canonically many of them are (most probably) mutated versions of their species. However, at least from my perspective, I think the problem is that, for Frye at least, they decided to pull a Pearl (assuming she would grow on people like her predecessor did) and cranked it up to a hundred. Frye feels more goblin-like than Pearl at this point.

Will she grow on people? Perhaps, I wouldn't be surprised, Shiver is already popular if the Demo Splatfest is anything to go by. If not, well, Big Man's mascot-like appeal is a good third alternative.​

Lots of Square Enix talk in this one.

So there's an obscure beat 'em up Square Enix game called The Bouncer about RPG protags being...well, bouncers at some nightclub where 15-year-olds can enter.

Weird premise aside, it has some odd designs.

The main character Sion isn't too bad but I kinda hate how he looks like a beta-Sora from Kingdom Hearts. I also really dislike his stupid dog collar and chain. I know it says "dog street" on his jacket and that he works in the city of Edge (yeah....) but come on now.

Kou's design rubs me the weird way. I suppose it's the excessive tattoos and the unmatching cargo pants. It just looks like a triad of unmatching elements being thrown onto one guy.

The absolute worst of the three main characters is Volt. What the fuck is up with those pants? Ugh, I hate it. His little horns are kinda silly too imo.

Dominique (the 15-year-old who runs around in nightclubs) doesn't have the worst design but I always hated the fact that she ran around in a jacket with no pants and a very weird hat. Looks like the precursor to a jester's hat.

Now Echidna is...she's supposed to be a security supervisor for this terrorist organization but I'm sorry she either looks like a street hooker or a bitchy sister of Waka from FFX.
Maybe I'm just a bit old-school but I like it when character designs infer something about the character. What in the fuck about Echidna's look says security or terrorist? Why is her hair so weird?

At least with Shalua, awful design that she was, you could infer that she was a scientist.

We have Sonic's boots. The lower half of a geisha custom. The upper top looks like a judo kit. There are oversized gloved. Cringy ass fox mask and terrible hair style. All wrapped with atrocious coloring and design.
