Klasky-Csupo's always had an artstyle that seems like it'd work great for something creepy made for adults. It's got that particular grittiness that'd work perfectly with such things, so it's strange that it got mostly paired up with Nickelodeon's children's cartoons, of all things. And come to think of it, Hotline Miami's portraits are reminiscent of their style:

But hey, it looked suitable in Duckman:

It works great for non human designs, Ahhh! Real Monsters had some great designs with the monster characters.

No one's gonna point out how the background characters look like they're stuck in 90s/early 200s awkward CG?

I guess it is stylistically on purpose to make the white people look like mass-produced soulless plastic Barbie and Ken dolls while the protagonist is an articulated figured carved out of wood and other natural materials to represent how "soulful and unique" she is by comparison.

Some bullshit like that the writers think make it deep.

Pixar hasn't been as good after the 2000s. Animation studios such as DreamWorks and Sony Animation have proven to be visually creative while Disney and Pixar have been stuck in the rut for years. Pixar only uses their visuals as tech demos but have forgotten the one thing that made the company special, and that has to do with storytelling

For me personally, they fell off the rails storytelling-wise after Brave and that's not to say that their other movies were all hits before that.

Since then it's been a slow humdrum for them and it's only getting worse.

Anyway, thread tax; Palette from the Megaman X series. I was always lukewarm on her design because her hair looks really dumb even if the idea behind it is not bad, given that she's a robot.

Oh and loli shit which makes that skintight suit very suspect. I think with some tweaks, her design could work for me.

There have been arguments that Pixar's other movies (i.e. Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Incredibles, etc.) also had stories done before, but at least the execution of either movies were great, meanwhile Brave was just boring through and through.

Oh yeah but at that point, there was always a gem amongst the dirt every now and then. Nowadays, it's just an endless barrage of garbage they put out. Not a single gem anywhere.

Hell Brave may have been the beginning of the end. because after that we got The Good Dinosaur and it spiraled from there.

I would say that the film's production troubles may have been the reason why The Good Dinosaur turned out to be dogshit, but then again Toy Story 2 & 3, Cars and Ratatouille had also suffered from production troubles, yet the final result for these movies, respectively, were actually great movies. Brave and The Good Dinosaur also had production troubles, but they were both hot garbo and the reason why Pixar is on a downward spiral

A grown man talking about Children's movies and knowing the history and the production behind them and reviewing them in his Fedora lmao holy shit this is gold. TVB you're parents are the real OGs for taking care of you they must be very proud.
