No, I just miss Jap stuff that wasn't absolute moeshit or worse, written like complete fucking soap operas - I can't get into anything like that (at all) and outright refuse to ever do so.
Then again, let's not even fucking begin to act like the BS prevalent in Jap fare today that I've just pointed out wasn't something to be weary of back then, either, judging by that example you gave me for free there.

While the changes are small (changing the colors and all), it is really lame they went with such an unoriginal name the next time they used him.I know I’m late to the sports mascot party, but the UEFA Euro soccer tournament had some pretty shitty mascots designs.
For example, Euro 1988’s rabbit mascot Berni...
was crappily recolored and given the unoriginal name of Rabbit for the 1992 tournament in Sweden.
Kinda resemble mascots for a brand of bubble gum to me!Another mascot that could be mentioned in this list, in my opinion are the ones for Euro 2012, Slavek and Slavko. Even as a kid visiting family in Poland at the time, I knew that these guys were universally hated. However, I don’t think that the actual designs are bad...
however, the actual fucking costumes that they made to promote it to kids were absolutely fucking horrendous and terrifying.
That is the beginning and end of it right there. Apparently dignity doesn't matter when there's money to be had from people who really should be seeking help instead of wallowing in prepubescent wankfests.
I feel the same way too, the older stuff was what I liked and it all just kinda erroded itself when they decided to go this direction.
There was always an audience for this, if not, very niche. Obivously an anime made for TV at a sensible timeslot would want to stay clear of any sort of territory that the OVA market brought to the medium and the fans who clamored for more.

I really wish to suggest some anime but that bike anime looks great. But yeah, I grew really bored of anime as of late. But if we wanna go back to the old days...that's impossible. Anime became so mainstream it's not going back. Best to do rewatches or try to find anime you might like. It's hard but it might be worth it.

Older anime seemed to have more of a mainstream appeal of sorts, it was made by people who were influenced by films and media of their time, more diversity. On the other hand recent anime seems to be influenced only by itself, so you get a lot of samey junk for the same deranged weeabo market.
When I was young "anime" meant Dragonball Z and Speed Racer, people beating the snot out of each-other or getting into stupidly dangerous races. No High Schools (I hate that setting so much), no moe, no bored out of his mind protagonist, no "organizations", no invincible 2 feet tall people, no awful CGi cars/trains/doors/stuff people are too lazy to animate, and no Super Lesbian Saiyans.

I'm honestly more concerned about the bat wing growing out of the top of her spine, than the virgin killer armor. Although those elbow tumors aren't great.

Nothing about the design is great. It's generally only pleasing to thirsty weebs like Homer.
(BTW, if the general audience of your game series is Homer, please consider cancelling your series like you intended to do in the first place.)

Was Fire Enblem really worth brining back in the end? Unless it's an old game, I'm in no hurry to play anything new from the series; the weebish character art / characterizations ain't helping either for me.

The art of FE has always been weeb bait with weeb characters. People get way too worked up over tiddy armor in my opinion. Even Echoes isn't immune to fan service and tropey characters, the only reason it's more toned down compared to the last two games is because it's a remake of an existing game.
Also this is the dude responsible for the new FE armor designs. The character designer, Yusuke Kozaki, has nothing to do with the fan service tiddy armor but gets wrongly blamed for it every single time.
