It's like some Sonic.exe version of the Calarts smile meme.Yeah, I can’t get over the Elemental character designs, I’m sorry. The fact that they’re popping up more because the movie is apparently doing better(?) isn’t helping. Here’s a few choice images.
It's modern day beanface bullshit or a big name studio trying too hard to emulate the anime aestheticDefinitely some of the characters in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (AKA Nu-Ra). The designs look boring and bland. I feel like the animators were playing too safely.

Isn't it the same shitty animation team as Voltron? That said the two black ladies in both shows are cute.Definitely some of the characters in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (AKA Nu-Ra). The designs look boring and bland. I feel like the animators were playing too safely.
I like their Catra, but most of the designs are just bland and boring. The 1985 iteration was a toy commercial so there was a big chance to explore more body types and unique accessories to make each character more visually distinct and special but instead everyone has a muted color palette and samey clothes.Definitely some of the characters in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (AKA Nu-Ra). The designs look boring and bland. I feel like the animators were playing too safely.
I haven't seen the show, but I notice Catra has an asymmetrical face, changes her haircut, and does a heel/face turn, exactly like Prince Zuko in Last Airbender.I like their Catra, but most of the designs are just bland and boring.
Literally no edges. Every design here is few squares with the edges filed out. Only the cat girl has slightly more effort.Definitely some of the characters in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (AKA Nu-Ra). The designs look boring and bland. I feel like the animators were playing too safely.

The first serie looks like something that Zach Hadel would make and use itAlso, there is something else I want to point out. from Poppy Playtime...

The Smiling Critters are genuinely unnerving and creepy. CatNap's gaping smile and murderous eyes are nightmare fuel. So why didn't MOB Entertainment do the same to the earlier enemies/bosses, as they look goofy rather than scary?

Probably the same reason they scrapped concepts involving Mommy Long Legs' death for "too much graphic violence"... To appeal to kids. That's also why they made Poppy Playtime school supplies.
They remind me of Sackboy a little bit.The Smiling Critters are genuinely unnerving and creepy
Jesus Christ, this is so uninspired. Also, there is something else I want to point out. from Poppy Playtime...

The smiling critters is less creepy design and more using the primal human fear of having no teethAlso, there is something else I want to point out. from Poppy Playtime...

The developers know exactly what they are doing.I can talk why Poppy isn't scary but it's pretty much like criticizing Curry for children for being mild.
Yeah, Catra's design just sort of screams "Crazy bitch", so mission accomplished.Only the cat girl has slightly more effort.
I see 856 chinese ones each times I am out.it's incredibly disappointing how they don't sell official replica/toys of their toy characters
They do MOB Entertainment's job, yes! And the plushies just show how goofy the designs are... Because Mommy Long Legs is a pink Betty Spaghetti.I see 856 chinese ones each times I am out.

They should have made Mommy Long Legs a spiderlike fashion doll, to be honest. You know, something that would actually appeal to little girls in the 1990's. (speaking of which, Sir Poops-A-Lot - one of the rejected toys from the game - would be a HUGE success if it was released nowadays)
Tranny dolls? Is that right?Let's look at these badly-designed "Dream Ella" dolls. In my opinion, the Color Change ones in particular are fucking ugly. So, can you guess who made them?

Are they bootleg Barbie dolls from China? Paraguay? Russia? No. They are made by MGA ENTERTAINMENT, the same corporation that made Bratz, Rainbow High and L.O.L. Surprise. It's sad how they just blatantly made a worse version of Barbie. (Do you think Bratz copied Diva Starz, though?)
