What are you playing right now?

Yakuza 0. Made it to the third chapter but redoing a chapter 2 save because I don't want to do any new game plus just to complete sidequest.
The game will give you a chance to wrap up lose ends before you beat it, also you unlock free roam mode to do side quests you missed after beating the game. So don't be too worried if you have open side quests and don't want to load a save and lose progress to do them.

Playing Bloodstained. I'm currently crafting, collecting and upgrading shards. Stumbling across some nice katana techniques too.

Trying to beat some dancing challenge in Yakuza 0 against the Disco King. The dancing minigame feels like BS because you can't seem to go as fast as the npc across the board and the shrinking squares makes it feel like the game is fucking with you. This really makes me appreciate the dancing mini-game in San Andreas more with each retry against a disco dancer.

I just finished playing the Bioshock games (going backwards.) Wow, I haven't been hit emotionally by games like that in a long time. I wish there were more like it. I got the good ending in the first Bioshock game. So many feelings.

Recently purchased GTAIV & Episodes From Liberty City. Beat the expansions for the first time. I know I'm super late. The Lost and Damned Expansion was cool but The Ballad of Gay Tony had a lot of crazier and cooler missions. And a lot more sexual content. Out of OCD and for completeness I beat GTAIV for a third time on this copy on the PS3. I don't know if my memory is deceiving me but I remember playing GTAIV when it first came out on Xbox 360 and it looking like absolute shit. Extremely muddy graphics with this retarded filter they used to hide the shitty graphics. It seems like the PS3 version doesn't have this filter but I could be wrong. Also, I wonder why you can play the episodes from liberty city right away but GTAIV requires an HD installation. Maybe all the extra cutscenes?

Since I played the fuck out of GTAIV I've picked up The Last Of Us again and I'm trying to get back into it. Even after being a good 6 hours into the game I still find the controls feeling really clunky. It makes me long for the buttery smoothness of a modern over the shoulder shooter like MGS4. It reminded me of something I read somewhere about Japanese game development vs US game development. When in the US they ask what the game is about when designing it and in Japan they ask how does the game feel. Random but it reminded me of that. I wish everything geled together and felt a little smoother. I guess things get a little better as you proceed through the game and enhance you weapons/abilities and they become less shitty. I'm not exactly sure yet but this seems like a game with a reversed difficulty curve where it starts out hard and gets easier. Which I actually don't mind if I know that going into it. However in the begining I was really frustrated at a bunch of parts about how much I was sucking and dying repeatedly.

Anyway that's my summary of what I've been playing and thinking about lately. I know these games are ancient so I doubt anyone will care but whatever. lol.

*One more thing. One of the reasons I've been playing old PS3 games is because you can get so many great PS3 exclusives for $5-6 shipped now. The Last Of Us really feels like one of the best games for PS3 that really pushes the graphical horsepower to it's limits. Quite impressive. I don't know if this will make sense to others but lately I've been thinking the PS3 is like the PS2-HD experience. With the graphical quality and the amount of PS2 games that were re-released on on PS3 with HD editions. It seems like PS4 and XBOX are the true HD next generation consoles with crisp 1080p graphics all around. The quality of the GTAIV trailers before they came out vs. how they released on consoles was appalling but all the games journalists/reviewers completely overlooked this at the time and gave perfect reviews all around. The PS3 version of GTAIV didn't even run at 720p.

I bought Ruiner for PS4 a while ago but I never got around to playing it because I own too many games, but I sat down and Devoted some time to it yesterday and holy shit this game is incredible. The soundtrack is amazing and compliments the action perfectly, it's a ballet of destruction and death. The lulls between the adrenaline rush action parts, the cyberpunk aesthetic, the choice in how you play with the upgrade system, it's a masterpiece of a dual stick action game in my opinion and you should play it if you haven't.

The music and sound fx are so good, I apparently had the speakers so loud my gf heard it and my yelling FUCK YOU I HAD THAT FUCKER from the front door of the building .

The Bard's Tale 4. It is a modern take on the old school, first person, turned based , CRPGs. You can get it on the Microsoft Game pass.

Picked up Outer Worlds after Modern Warfare PC launch proved to be a clusterfuck (multiple patches, apparently random crashes on even higher end rigs, etc).

I like the game so far. Not a fan of the gun play, might reroll my character as a Space Lanius. Only done with the first planet/section of that planet, but I can tell the grey decision making is still there, which is why I love Obsidian and related people's work.

I decided to divert power to the town and let the deserters go back to the town. I was pleased to see Reed consider lightening up on his workers and lobbying for more medicine, which I had already partially helped with by selling the outside medicine to that actuary instead of giving it to the old guy.

Love that game. Wheres the actuary? I didnt know there was an option other than giving it to the old guy

She approaches you after you speak to him and accept the medicine quest. Statically, she hangs out in the alley right next to his house.

Divinity: Original Sin II. First time played. I'm not a "patient gamer" by choice, just finally got ahold of PC parts that don't chug when I decide to change my Windows theme. Finally catching up to modern games I've missed (Dark Souls, MGSV, Doom, Divinity 2, etc.) and this game has captured my heart like no other RPG. My favorite beforehand was Final Fantasy Tactics, which I still replay every year. Fantastic RPG elements, dynamic world with huge breadth and depth, and a tactical delight. I know I'm super late to the party on this and Dark Souls, which I also adore, but I had just been playing Dota 2 for years on end and finally got ahold of other games. I'm just real happy with the games I've got to go through right now.

Was playing Starfleet 2: Krellan Commander. The later levels get balls to the walls hard. It's basically an ASCII Battlecruiser 3000 A.D. From the late 80s that doesn't suck. No idea how to explain it else.

Now I'm playing the game of finding a good indie strategy game that's new and it seems I'm losing. It's pretty telling that most games mentioned in this thread are old. Do people even still make money with this

im maybe cheesing in Hoi4. you can sealion in 1937 without france joining the Uk...

I'm currently playing Endless Space 2. It's not just good, it's for most part a work of beauty. It scratches all the 4X autism itches (maybe the combat could have been more fleshed out), the visuals are, just like it is the case with Endless Legend, pure eye candy, the lore is very interesting and enough to get you invested, and the soundtrack is such a blessing for both the ears and the soul. I'm currently maining as the Vaulters as I grew quite fond of them back in Endless Legend. While a close second is the Imperium of Man United Empire, every single faction is quirky, interesting and likable on their own. And personally I think that every single faction intro is hype as fuck.

Just finished The Last Of Us.
Ending was very anti-climactic.
Just finished The Last Of Us dlc/add-on Left Behind and I think it's a rippoff unless you're a die hard fan and absolutely want to see every possible thing. Half of it is a flashback with non-action gameplay different from the main game and it's spliced together with a period of time in the story that was skipped over but doesn't really add anything to the game or story. I guesstimate it's only 1-3 hours of gameplay depending on your play style and chosen difficulty level.

Luckily a friend of mine bought it for me as a gift so I don't feel ripped off but I would have it I had paid the $10. I'm surprised it used to cost $15. IMO it's barely worth $5.

Thought I would warn others in case there are any late players of the TLOU.

I’ve frequently visited family in Salt Lake and it always weirds me out how Naughty Dog simultaneously got so much right and so much wrong.

I’m playinh Bit.Trip Runner 2. It’s one of the first games I’ve put down for years at a time and found way easier after picking it up again. Probably due to the games I’ve played in the meantime, but it’s still strange.

Despite my frustrations involving the clusterfucks that are the movies at the moment, I picked up Fallen Order and I'm having a surprising amount of fun with it so far.
