What are you playing right now?

Discovered some good mobile games.

Hoplite has no right to be as good as it is. Turn based roguelite with good use of its mechanics.

Timing Hero is a cute little roguelite with reaction based turn based combat, and a great timekiller if you like grinding levels.

Underhand is another great roguelite if you like occult/resource management.

Search Single Player + Offline in Play Store to filter out all the freemium bullshit.

Was playing a fair bit of Hades last week, finally escaped after 22 attempts which is OK by me. Will eventually pick it back up and try to bust out on higher heat settings. Blitz Disc is OP as fuck and with a Zeus or Ares boon you can cheese the game so fucking hard it's unreal.

Updated retroarch and booted up Final Fantasy Tactics: War Of The Lions. I'm trying to knock out the retroachievement set and this particular one has level and death restrictions. https://retroachievements.org/game/3236 if you're curious.

For anyone that's done challenge runs of this game what do you think is the best birthday setup for Ramza? Thinking of pisces because of the battle at the end of chapter 3. The de-level trap is allowed but that isn't for awhile in CH1 I think? I've never done a full minmax run so I don't quite understand how stat gains from certain classes work, I just know bard is suppose to be really good for Ramza to level down as.

Not trying to shill (honest), but Fallen Earth is back online out of nowhere. It's that Fallout meets Star Wars Galaxies MMO that launched to some interest like 15 years ago, was bought out by a scummy company who killed the game with P2W bullshit, bought out again by a small company who tried to salvage it, but ultimately cut their losses and shut the game down in 2019 with the promise of remaking and relaunching it.

The company literally out of nowhere brought the game back online again this morning as "Fallen Earth Classic" while they work on the remake. The game is the same version as when it was shut down, but it's a fresh server and everyone is starting from scratch.

The game is janky as hell in some regards (that's part of its charm) but it's still a blast if you can look past its flaws. It's 100% free to download and play, so if it looks interesting or you just want to experience some good old fashioned MMORPG bullshit, it's worth a look.

You guys are missing out.

I just got finished playing through Prey (2017) and the DLC. Clocked in around the 30 hour mark total, split 50/50 between the base game and DLC.
Got the bundle on sale for 20 bucks, a steal if you ask me.

Next up, I want to visit the older Arkane Studios games. Arx Fatalis seems really interesting with the spell drawing, but it feels like it's aged weirdly.

Don't have any halloween plans so to try to be a bit spooky I'm playing stalker for the first time. Basically going in blind for the games but I have seen and adore the tarkovsky movie so I'm just hoping for some of that creepy tense atmosphere only old soviets can capture

I started playing Fallout 4 again for the first time in a few years. I've had all the DLCs but I've never done a proper dive into them. So I comically named my character Clunk (this is a name Codsworth recognizes) and just melee everything with him. I've taken this character at level 1 and jumped straight into Nuka World despite the fact the DLC is made with level 30 characters in mind. I've knocked out the Kiddie and Safari parks so far with a sledgehammer and the Overboss power armor. It's been a blast smashing skulls into a bloody paste.

Giving Jet Set Radio another try.

Godamn its like this fucking game has an energy shield against me. I can't get a grip on the controls, they got too much jank for me. Also jumping feels like an AC leap of faith because of the way the camera will zoom in your characters ass and never show you were you're actually landing. Those fucking graffiti commands were not made for a keyboard.

Soundtrack is 10/10, love the art direction, but jesus this game is not for me

a friend let me borrow his game of ghost of tsushima and so far, its meh. the game looks and sounds amazing but the gameplay is sort off turning me off. im playing it like an assassins' creed game so i can avoid having big swords fights with a shity camera. heard it gets better once you learn a few new moves and stances but so far, its meh.

The learning curve is steep. It's about memorization, not improvisation. (Unlike, say,
1080 or Tony Hawk.) Find the quickest route to grind down, leapfrogging from rail to rail, and you win.

You may want to consult a video walkthrough. Grind Square will put hair on your chest.

Finished Hitman: Codename 47.

It's very rough around the edges and frankly the fact the last level takes away your armor and extra ammo you collected from the second last level is absolute bullshit. But I found myself having a great time overall. I would probably rate this game below Blood Money which is my favorite of the Hitman games I've played so far. (With Silent Assassin and Contracts following right after)

I guess a big part of why I liked it so much was the music and atmosphere. This game probably has my favorite soundtrack in the series and I find it interesting how Jesper Kyd went with something more contemporary for the sequel. (Although seeing as how in that game, 47 turned to Christianity and was trying to redeem itself, it was fitting).

I hope someday there's a proper remake for this game. I know Contracts redid most of the levels from the original game, but I kinda prefer the music and feel of the original more.

I wouldn't call Gregorian chanting contemporary.

But you are right. Each game has its own flavor. Contracts is darker and more industrial.

This is evocative of Johnny Cash.
