What are you playing right now?

Got a PS5 and I'm playing Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. So far not bad, it's just like the other games and I'm cool with that. The new girl isn't annoying and I don't have much issue with her being the dual protagonist and going between her and Ratchet since there's no real difference between them. But at the same time, what's the point of having her then besides having a female character? I think it could have worked as a co-op mode thing, or maybe given her some different abilities like in DMC5. But yeah, if you're a fan of the series, I'd say you'd enjoy it.

Bought Murdered: Soul Suspect for a buck and it was a solid 4/10. Undercooked as fuck, but I'm a sucker for detective stories and I like the idea of a cop solving his own murder. Plus I'm a collectible autist and this game has lots of shit to hunt for as you selectively noclip your way around and enjoy boring easy stealth with orange ringwraiths

You lucky son of a bitch, I'd sell my soul for both of those you know that?
I'm trying to give Fallout 4 another go.
Honestly in hindsight? It's not bad but it's just...not as good as the fallouts of yore. And yeah the only way to play it is with mods to make a better experience.
Aria of Sorrow for the first time.
I have that via the Castlevannia Advance collection but i got it more to play Dracula x and complete the 16 bit era collection of castlevannia games.

Anyways what am i playing now? Chip and dale rescue rangers via the disney afternoon collection....gee hard to believe it's been five years since that collection was released and in the time since...the only update has been the Nintendo versions of the Aladdin game and the nes jungle book game...i had to play chip and dale to wash the taste of that awful movie out of my mouth.

Really struggling through Elden Ring. The difficulty is fine but I am not having fun and everything just kinda feels basic and barebones.

I am also playing Galactic Civilizations IV. It is also very alright. I need to find a good game to get out of this funk.

New Mario Kart tracks are going to be here sooner rather than later so that will be cool.

Still playing OpenMW. I've completed the Imperial questline and now have some of the best (and most aesthetic) armour in the game, as well as the best sword, so I'm just exploring Tamriel Rebuilt mod. Finished with the island of Stirk and probably going to explore the mainland next. I'll come back to finish the main quest after then maybe role a new character and try a more magic build.

Also thinking about reactivating my old ESO account. I think I played for about a year after launch before I got bored but from what I've seen online the game has expanded a lot and I feel myself drawn in. Might play for a month and see if it's worth sticking to. Knowing me, however, I don't think my interest will last long enough to justify a subscription.

Expeditions Rome. It's pretty good so far and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes CRPGs or Roman history.

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, hooked. Could be the Viking angle, could be the fact I'm just in the mood for it, or both. Either way, having an awesome time.

Tried Hovercars 3077.

Controls are super floaty and you have to fly through super-tight tunnels. This wouldn't be that big of a problem if touching any wall would not mean insta-death. It's nice in the levels where there's space to fly and maneuver, but most of the tracks are anything but. Floaty controls + killy walls + tight tunnels = not fun.

Also most levels are desert. Not very post-apocalyptic. Would not recommend.

War of the Monsters for the Ps2.

Man, so many fond memories with this game. It took me a while to really get used to how the game worked again, but once you get the groove down, it's hella fun.

Slay the Spire. I'm not really a gamer so it's nice to be able to just jump in for a coupe minutes then jump out when I get the itch. So far it's pretty entertaining and easy enough for me to figure out without spending hours on it.

Evil Dead. Just maxxed out Scotty but man, the sessions I topped him off I did the stupidest shit and for some reason was playing like it was Dead by Daylight. I was rightly shamed for it.

Coincidentally I just downloaded that the other day, heard only good things.

Tried some new things

Trek to Yomi.
Pretty fun but at one point the protag starts complaining about something and you'll most likely be agreeing with him.

New Super Lucky's Tale.
Don't ask why, I just did. Child's game, extraordinarily easy though a couple of puzzles might kick the brain into motion.

Played through Mario Sunshine for the first time in probably 15 years. Still holds up, but the difficulty is either far too easy, or a frustrating gimmick that shouldn't be in the game. The movement is perfect, but aside from blue coin hunting, which I really refuse to waste time doing because of how they can be in specific Episodes in each level, you never need to use the movement options you're given. Mario 64 was actually more consistently difficult than Sunshine, which gets a lot of flak for being difficult, but the only two truly annoying bits are the leaf 8 red coins where you move the leaf around the water with Fludd, and the notorious watermelon. I think those are even in the same level.

On the other hand, you have about 10 shines I'd guess that take less than 30 seconds to get from level entry to completion. The game is carried by great music, tight movement, and good level design, but held back by very flawed Shine placement.

Also, almost every secret level makes me wish we'd get a game that was just that with no gimmicks.

I think Elden Ring had too much content. It sounds crazy, but 180 bosses when 160 just feel like regular mobs with a boss health bar was an interesting choice. Strip out the open-world and you just have Dark Souls 4, so I'm still glad they tried something new.

The few core story dungeons are all good, but the massive amount of other middling side content just gets old after enough of it. There's no point. Bloodborne might have been able to carry something like this as the lore was much more interesting, but I couldn't get into the Elden Ring lore. Just didn't care.

I'm playing AM2R right now, which is the only fan game I've ever played that is higher quality than the source content. Nintendo should have bought and licensed this.
