What are you playing right now?

Anomaly? Yes, actually. I love playing as Monolith.
Escape from Pripyat, now that I have not heard of.
You have to get the download link from their discord to download the modpack but it is really good and adds a lot of Tarkov into Stalker Anomaly from sound effects to weapons and health system.

Chorus.

It's a perfectly fun and arcade-y space shooter. Once you get your main fighter, shit like zooming around an asteroid, turning on drift so you can zap the dudes behind you, and then teleporting behind the last one is a pretty common tactic. That's before you learn how to freeze and shock assholes.

Just ignore the story. It tries really hard to be deep and emotional but the writers didn't have the skills to pull it off and the actors just sound lifeless and wooden. I've had better storytelling with more emotional impact with Freespace fan campaigns. Pick it up on sale or pirate if you're like me and miss dancing among the stars.

Bought the Division 2 on sale for $5. It's the most banal, derivative, boring shit I've ever played but it caters to my autistic enjoyment of the Ubishit open world liberation formula so I can't stop playing it. It was probably pretty cool at launch when there were a bunch of people running around, but I've only seen two other players in the base game newbie areas over 15 hours of playtime. I think you can get to endgame raiding and PVP if you plop down $60 for the expansion and some gear packs, but for now I'm just treating it like a very mediocre single player game.

Started Pillars of Eternity again. I usually end up dropping this game after six hours or so, but I'm taking my time this playthrough and enjoying myself. Some of the writing is ponderous and the combat can be clunky, but overall bretty gud.

Thinking I'll pick up DOS2 next, which is another game I've had trouble getting into. I've got a friend who usually isn't into CRPGs and they rave about it, so I probably should give it a real chance.

I finished Most Wanted 2005 100% and I do not recommend anyone to play that game. Everything sucks about it tbh.
Started playing Hollow Knight, I already have 10 hours on it very fun game play that one instead

Finished Luigi's Mansion 3 and Eastward, now I'm playing Yooka-Laylee on switch. It's fun but has some issues.

Replayed Spider-man 2 for the original Xbox and it was pretty fun. Way shorter than I remember but it is a movie tie in game so you can't really expect much. The web swinging mechanic is still one of the most fun things to do in a game and literally nothing has come close Spider-man 2 since. Just the level of speed and momentum you can build up is incredibly exhilarating provided you're skilled enough. Unfortunately everything else has aged rather poorly if I'm being honest. The story really would've benefited if it took more creative liberties and had more of a focus on Spider-man and Black Cat's relationship instead of trying to follow the movie's plot. I actually think this might be my favorite portrayal of Black Cat. It's also super unfortunate that this game will never be remastered due to Sony making new exclusive Spider-man games and Activision publishing this one.

Started playing Sea of Thieves with friends. My first impression is that the game is pretty shallow, the quests are just copy and paste busy work, and the only thing progression rewards you get are cosmetic items making the whole thing pretty unfulfilling and meaningless. That being said, I am enjoying it. I have gamepass so it was "free" and I definitely wouldn't have ever bought it outright on my own. As a multiplayer game to mess around in with friends and not take too seriously though, it's fairly entertaining. Definitely got that high seas sense of adventure that I got from Windwaker years ago, at least for now until I get through the thin veneer.

Revisiting Doom Eviternity. It can be ridiculously hard at times but so far, no other Doom WAD, or even any Doom game has really topped this for me. It’s like the Doom 3 we never got.

The Biblical sounding text screens are also really badass.

Revisiting Dead Rising 3, its funny how in that game the people who DON'T want to get vaccinated and or "chipped" against their will because the government says so are portrayed as the good guys. Guess hindsight really is 2020 huh? in more ways than one.

I'm Black Cat, and I just crossed your path.

There is a easter egg in the game where Bruce Campbell tells you her “measurements.”

I was playing Elden Ring but a particularly busy week had me working 58 hours and I just didn't have the energy to continue. I'm considering just not returning for a bit and starting over with a new build and abusing what I've learned when I do. I always tend to improve when I leave a game for a bit and return.

Until then, I'm waiting for the release of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. While I wait, I'm probably going to pick back up an RNG heavy grind on my Runescape ironman.

Bought Postal: Brain Damaged earlier today after finding out it came out a few days earlier. Beaten it today and as far as it goes in being derivative of Doom Eternal and Doom 2016, I had more fun with Brain Damaged than I did with those two games. Any Kiwi that's been here since the early days might be reminded of Wizardchan from one enemy being 30 year old virgins and it has some murderous furries you're able to kill with impunity.

Trying to get through (most of) the old D&D-based games for nostalgia's sake. Played through Planescape: Torment and all of the Baldur's Gate stuff. Just finished the HotU expansion for Neverwinter Nights today and I'm wondering whether I should start Kingmaker or just move on to NWN2.

I have no idea how I was able to play through any of this shit as a child, those games are super clunky and I spent like an hour being repeatedly one-shotted by a fucking Bodak in NWN before I figured out what to do. Those games seriously make me feel retarded sometimes.

Eviternity is a hell of a good WAD...I may replay it after I finish Sunder again.

TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. Whoever at Dotemu or Tribute Games decided to get Mike fucking Patton to sing the TMNT theme song should get a raise. Game is really good fun. Makes me wish someone at Bandai-Namco would get Dotemu to make a new 2D Splatterhouse game.
