What are you playing right now?

Been playing Greedfall on Hard and one thing that makes it not as good as Witcher 3 is that quest difficulty is not listed in the menu. Witcher 3 put a recommended level number so that you know if you're under-leveled. Greedfall doesn't do this, so sometimes I could get into a fight in a side quest and suddenly, I'm fighting skull-ranked enemies. I'm not sure I want to play the game on Extreme considering the tutorial boss hits like a truck and party members get removed just for this one boss fight.

Decided to get Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin after a friend recommended it (he knows I like comfy farming shit like Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing). The art style is pretty cute and the soundtrack is catchy, but Okami's definitely above it in terms of the style they're going for.. As much as I like the rice farming and cooking meals, the final boss was a disappointment and the story's nothing special. I also think it's bullshit that halfway through the game all your skills get nerfed and your farm gets obliterated, so you have to start from scratch.

I love how this is just a mod and not even a part of the base game and people not familiar with rimworld wouldn't even be able to tell from the screenshot. I sank way too much time into that game, until I got the dreaded mod fatigue. (A state of mind I describe as following: You realize that the game you're playing is just a bunch of random ill-fitting mods by different authors and you wonder what even the point is)

PS4 recently got a Jailbreak for FW 9.00 so I did that yesterday and started Gravity Rush 2. I love the mechanic of flying around so far, feels pretty natural. Looking forward to going through it over my time off at Christmas break.

Started up Syberia 2, I'm less than an hour into the game and I'm already annoyed. I just finished Broken Sword 2 which has some issues but is on the whole a fun game with interesting and engaging puzzles. The first puzzle in Syberia 2? Some trial and error horseshit. You are given like a dozen coins and 3 vending machines, a specific coin fits a specific vending machine (for reasons unknown). There is no brain work, no clever solution just blind trial and error.

I hope it improves but I'm not optimistic. I remember not really liking the first Syberia and finding it to be a massive slog to get through. I don't know how these games got such glowing reviews back in the day.

Been playing burnout 3 on pcxs2 the past month, decent way to pass the time, fit in a wee two minute race during the day.

Theres a wierd thing you need to do though which is pressing f9 during the loading screen to change the game to software mode. Once the race starts you press f9 to change back to hardware mode (the game runs slow as fuck on software mode). If you don't do this the sky doesn't render for some reason. Think it's the same for burnout revenge.

I bought a shitton of games this month due to all the sales, so some thoughts:

Valheim - pretty cool for a survivaly game. the speed stamina drains is absolutely bullshit.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker - this game is fun but irritates my perfectionist side. I really hope they add a VR mode at some point.
Gloomhaven - hard as balls, but fucking awesome.
Mario Kart 8 - Haven’t played one since like DS. It’s mostly the same game, but it’s still a lot of fun.
Graveyard Keeper - I hated their game Punch Club, but this is a lot more fun, and the references are not as in-your-face and constant
Moonlighter - Not as cute as Recettear, but it’s solid and faster.
Mister Driller Drill-Land - I don’t understand this game.

Before my modded psx's laser went tits up I was playing a pretty cool difficulty mod of Breath of Fire 3. Changes the stats of the characters, what skills they get and makes magic more useful. Changes monster stats too. I hadn't gotten too far but was enjoying it. Its not on romhacking.net and is a project I found out about on the gamefaqs BOF3 message board.

No patching needed. To play on a console you just need to merge the bin files and then burn the CUE to a cd. I imagine for an emulator it works out of the box.

I got Dusk for Xmas and I'm loving the hell out of it.

Super fast, super fun and great atmosphere and soundtrack.

Would recommend. 10/10
