What are you playing right now?

Is Tales of Monkey Island worth playing? I'm a big fan of the series but the horrible art style of this game kept me from playing it. I'm also very weary of Telltale games as a developer.

Finally completed the Master Chief saga playlist on Halo MCC. I've been playing that a lot lately on again off again switching from campaign to multiplayer. Great way to spend a last week off. Really takes me back to the summers from 07 to 09 when Halo was in its prime.

been playing some pokemon clear crystal. its funny how the game lets you create your own fun with the amount of starting zones and pokemon you can catch. the biggest problem i had with gen 2 was always the lack of pokemon you could find and the the abysmal level curve. but once you fix that, it easily becomes one of the better gens in the series.

also fuck those OC pokemon trainers you can find. the fact they name their pokemon so you dont know what to switch into makes fighting them a pain in the ass. bet they min-max their pokemon as well the faggots.

I have been playing MGSV for the past few days. I have had it since 2015. I have 253 hours in the game and never finished it. Though it's not like a traditional game so there is no real ending. It's open world so like the GTA games you can just keep going back to it. I just did the story missions and most of the Side Ops. I unlocked the secret Mission 46 before 45 because I didn't have my bond with Quit maxed out. I have seen the ending on YouTube before many times over the years but getting to see it myself through my own play was pretty nice. I didn't 100% it which is something I would like to do. But I am about 61% in the game so far. I want to unlock all the stuff I can especially the Raiden ninja suit.

I know a lot of people think it's unfinished and they shit on the game for that but I didn't mind it. I kind of liked the whole you are big boss ending message. I won't say it's some kind of masterpiece and Kojima is a god because I don't believe that. But I did enjoy it. I mean I have 253 hours in the game. It's one of the most played games I own. The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan is a pretty unique setting for a game that many others don't seem to utilize. The only game I know that involved it in anyway was Syphon Filter 3 and Black Ops 2.

I didn't mind the Side Ops either. Yes, some of them got repetitive but I didn't mind playing them. It gives you a nice break away from the games story missions which are usually kind of stressful especially on a first run. I always thought MGSV had new game plus, but I just found out it doesn't. It's kind of a letdown but you can play the missions as much as you want, and a certain number of Side Ops gets made available every day for you to play as much as you want.

I guess after this I will get back to my second playthrough of Doom 2016 and I will start playing Doom Eternal again.

Completed metroid prime last week, good game, the backtracking to get all the chozo artifacts at end of the game was a bit of a pain though.

Started playing silent hill, its ..... okay, not a fan of the fog or the darkness, I know it's there to circumvent the ps1's hardware limitations but it's easy to get lost if you dont have the map for an area. I know the 2nd one's supposed to be great but I hate just jumping into random entries when I start playing a new series. It usually spoilers the previous games when you decide to play them and the mechanics are always less polished.

Just picked up Chernobylite from the recent steam sale. Pretty good so far. I don't want to say it's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I guess I'd say it's like Metro and The Last Stand.

Obvious Russian setting with a base and companions you get along the way. You can manage said companions at your base with keeping them (and yourself) fed (don't think there's starvation, just a dip in morale), comfortable and geared for sending them on missions. Missions are day-to-day, meaning with everyday you can go on a mission as well as send them on one to bring back resources for crafting gear and things for the base, ammunition and food. Choices also matter during their and story missions.

When leveling up and gaining a perk, each companion offer a different perk to train you in. What I really like is each perk is acquired by completing their short, little mini-mission you do with them.

The voice acting was pretty bad at the start imo so I kept the Russian with subs but I may go back to English and see if it's not all that bad.

Songs of Syx is pretty cool.

I play it and I suddenly realize 4 hours later that I spent time playing it.

Totally into it.

2 actually has barely anything to do with the other games and is pretty much it’s own thing. Was able to jump into the series through that with no problem. 1 does somewhat explain the mechanics of the town, but nothing that’s necessary to enjoy 2.

3 however is a direct sequel to 1.

Still, I’d stick with 1 for now. It’s a very good game in of itself once you get used to how it plays. (Getting the “best” endings is a bit obtuse though)

I think I got the worst possible ending haha, the story was a bit confusing I thought. I'll give 2 a try soon
